This location is pretty damn big for a Starbucks. There's lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, including a large communal table. Definitely one of the better Starbucks I've been to. Parking might be difficult at peak times though, but at least it's free! read more

On Monday, December 5th, I went to Starbucks Store 7231 in Chevy Chase, MD. When I first entered none of the baristas asked me what I would like to drink I had to wave them over to get their attention because they were talking amongst themselves and not paying attention to the fact that a customer was there. I asked if I could have a sample of a drink which I have received in other starbucks establishments, and the barista, a tall, black male, rudely told me no. I proceeded to order my usual as I'm not wasting money on a seasonal special without knowing what it tastes like. After ordering, I realized I did not receive my receipt. The barista did not ask me if I wanted my receipt and threw it away without asking. At my request he rolled his eyes at me and asked another barista to get it. Lastly, my drink order was not correct, but I did not even bother correcting it because I did not have enough energy to deal with this level of RUDENESS. This whole experience was very negative and I shall not be visiting this Starbucks again. read more

I just stopped in and decided to finally give the Flat White a go. After taking a sip of my to-go drink, I thought that the coffee was lacking on the personality...as a matter of fact, it fell a bit...flat. Afraid that I was judging my cup-of-joe too harshly, I scoured the internet on prior reviews for the Flat White. Of note, I found reviews touting that the drink is "sweeter and has a more intense coffee flavor" with one reviewer noting that it was too strong for her, she, preferring sweeter drinks. To be more specific, I don't 'taste' the coffee per se, but feel like I'm drinking a creamy milk-based drink. My disappointment is mainly due to me liking my coffee to taste just as that--like coffee. Other than that, the barista was friendly and served my drink expeditiously. read more

Very poor experience at the Starbucks. I'm usual at my local Starbucks and I've never experienced such poor service. I waited in line and ordered my drink, and proceeded to wait for what felt like forever for my drink to come out and was only at knowledged when I ask if I drink was coming up next after noticing three people who ordered behind me get served first. To then find out that my drink was not in the queue. The woman who gave me my drink was quick after she found that I had not received my drink but it was strange that she did not notice me waiting at all and. Again I'm very different experience than usual and very disappointing, made me regret my decision of passing up Einstein bagel... Never again. read more

Staff is very unfriendly and will not look you in the eye, speak loud enough to be heard, say thank you, and will point to the card machine rather than say "please use the card machine." It's pretty amazing. In addition, the drinks are seldom correct, especially if you order an extra shot or anything different than the standard menu. read more

This Starbucks is conveniently located just off I-495. This location has large indoor and outdoor seating area. The couches are very comfortable if you decide to relax, or get some reading done. The staff is very polite and efficient. I never had my order mixed up or not satisfied with my drink. The place is always clean and the crowd is very warm. There is Einstein bagels next door, if you want to pair your coffee with some warm bagels. It gets pretty crowded during peak hours so you might want put in a mobile order to skip the line. This is located right next to Capital Crescent Trail, so it gets a lot of runners and bikers during the weekends. It has plenty of parking in the back and I never had a tough time finding a spot. I would definitely recommend this Starbucks location. read more

I was happy with the customer service after my drink was not made or someone else took it. After asking the barrista making the drink where mine was because a number of people ordering in store had gotten theres first, he told me someone must have taken it. I asked him to please remake it. The cashier seeing that I was annoyed, came over to find out what was going on. She then without saying anything gave me a card for a free drink and apologized. It was very kind of her to do that and I appreciate her a lot for it as the shop was busy. Thank you. read more

I come to this Starbucks about once a week out of convenience, and I would say that about 50% of the time I have a negative experience and ask myself why I continue to go to this location. First of all, I should say that in general, I find Starbucks staff (at other locations) extremely professional, warm and efficient. That is why the behaviour of the staff here stands out so much. The first few times I experienced rudeness, I chalked it up to a bad day, but it has happened so often and so consistently that there must be a problem with the management. I had to make a complaint further up the chain about a year ago when one staff member actually raised his voice to me when I asked a polite question about a drink (which had been made incorrectly due to a language barrier on the part of the barista). Most often, you just get the cold shoulder from the staff, the robotic computer entry and no smile whatsoever. Sometimes you get explicit rudeness for no apparent reason. The staff generally looks miserable and like they hate their job and the world. Don't bother trying to engage in any friendly banter because you won't get so much as eye contact, and you might even get barked at. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the nice space and easy parking. Lately I just use it for mobile orders so I don't have to interact with the staff. I always thank whoever the person is who makes my drink for me but rarely do I get so much as an acknowledgement, never mind a "you're welcome." It's a bummer of an experience all around. Starbucks Corporate really needs to send in some secret shoppers and check out what kind of service is representing their company. read more

this is by far the BEST starbucks i've ever been to! i stop every morning for my coffee and never have to wait. it's to the point now where a certain barista recognize me and has my venti soy iced coffee ready shortly after i walk in the door. it does not get better than this! read more

Interesting. Tripped onto this quaint little coffee shop this morning on my way home from picking up a sizable amount of FREE parrot feed from a fellow avian enthusiast I had the good fortune of coming across in this week's Penny Saver. Unfortunately, he was recently bereaved, having lost his beloved Cockatoo "Champagne" by leaving his cage on the porch during an unexpected cold snap. (We all remember last Wednesday.) I was saddened by his rather long recanting of Champagne's vocabulary, which implausibly included the Pledge of Alliegience, and was feeling rather run down by life's strange balancing act when I spotted what I thought at first was a fish market. Well let me tell you, this Starbucks fellow crosses his "t"s & dots his "i"s where coffee is concerned! First of all, coffee is THEIR SPECIALTY. It's practically all the shop sells! I mean, I've heard of coffee shops, but usually you can order a hash brown & a side of eggs, but NOT HERE, so be warned! They do offer some teas & an assortment of mugs and such that were too rich for my blood. $11 for a mug?! I could get a new dinnerware set for that at Marshall's. (In the clearance section, of course.) Anyhoo, the owner, Mr. Starbucks - which I believe is a French name - is quite the purist, having given all the drinks their own whimsical names, many of them in European. That causes some delays, I can tell you, and I can only hope the dozen people in line behind me were paying attention as it took the young man behind the counter a solid 40 minutes to translate the list of menu options. In fact, by the time the young man was done (who by the way had an earring in his lip, which was the one unhygienic thing I noticed in an otherwise SPOTLESS cafe) I had in fact lost all interest in coffee, overwhelmed by the odors & frankly, I felt a headache coming on from the constraint GRINDING noise! You'd think they could complete that before opening. So although I waved the coffee itself, I did purchase a lovely cuttlebone-shaped cookie adorably called a "Biscuity" for my finches, Ferdinand & Mr. F. Bird, which they loved. All in all, the place had a certain charm and seemed to be drumming up a solid local business. I would not be surprised if one day we saw another "Starbucks" or two pop up. read more

This location has gone way down hill over the last few years.....Nisha is known for being THE rudest employee in the store, not sure why she hasn't been fired yet. Last time I was there she skipped over my order (probably by mistake and thats fine) but when I asked for my drink she snapped "OK damn, I just got here!" When I finally got it, it was made wrong and when I went back to get it remade, she said, "Whats your problem?!" I hate when I walk in and she is working...I try to avoid her or I just go somewhere else. TERRIBLE location. read more

I love this location- right off the capital crescent trail, just where you'd like coffee and a bathroom! There are some nice and competent staff members. BUT! They never, ever, ever get the hot food orders right. A trip here ALWAYS ends with me at the counter trying to flag down somebody to actually get the food we paid for while holding a baby who really is crying for that sandwich! This is a very busy location Saturdays and Sundays and the staff is very committed despite. I am a regular and come at various times with and/or without my family. Nisha is a really nice young lady she's always smiling and very cheerful which is good for those bad days(she usually works mornings). She is always helpful around the store never just standing around she tries her best to help wherever needed with urgency. She remembered my name and order rather quickly. She doesn't rush you through the line she gets to know you in a sense. Since she came to the store she's been great. She is one of the employees that's around often, so that says a lot about her customer service - it is effective. read more
