For a quick, light, Monday lunch, I stopped by PJ's. I expected the usual cafe fare of simple sandwiches. To my pleasant surprise, I found cubanos ($7.99) available, which I promptly ordered along with a large drip coffee ($3.15). I didn't plan on dessert, but the beignets ($4.15) convinced me otherwise. Since the number of patrons inside numbered one (myself), I received my order within 5 minutes. Both the Cubano and beignets arrived piping hot (need to wrap a few napkins level of hot). The Cubano's ciabatta proved quite fluffy. The pickles did not seem too tangy. The beignets (3 per order) also proved incredibly fluffy. I knocked off some of the powdered sugar as I don't like too much sweetness. Overall, it possessed my preferred balance of slight bready savoriness accented with, but not overpowered with, sweetness. For an ad-hoc coffee and light lunch stop, it proved quite exceptional. I would most certainly return, especially for those beignets.

I got the beignets and they were made so fresh. So pillowy and I thoroughly enjoyed them! I also had the iced pecan latte and it was rich and bold in flavor! It was clean and the service was prompt!

I went to PJs to get coffee with a friend. The place was relatively empty and the barristers were friendly. I asked for a recommendation and I ended up ordering the White Chocolate Latte with whipped cream. The drink was tasty and defiantly want to come back to try their beignets.

A nice little spot in silver spring! Visited because I was meeting some friends in the areas The service here was great, staff were super friendly and chill. I especially loved the energy of the shop. Laid back and casual in a city area. The beignets for me were the star of the show! Best thing we had for sure. My coffee was good but I should have added a bit of sweetener. My partner's coffee was sweet (white chocolate latte). Overall I'd come back! Check them out and don't skip on the beignets

PJ'S is a cozy coffee shop. It is a decent chain and the price of coffee is affordable. I had a mocha latte, and it was slightly above average, but I didn't regret my drink. It is a place I would go to again, but not some place I'm going to go completely out of my way for.

I made a quick stop by PJ's Coffee to buy some time prior to another appointment. Overall, I thought everything was fine with my experience. I ordered a regular coffee, a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit, and beignets. I did not have any major issues with my order. My only (very) minor complaint was I thought that the beignets were a bit doughy, but that's more of my preference. I thought the prices of my items were fine relatively to other places in the area. Also, the customer service was pretty good.

Come for the coffee... STAY for the beignets! This little coffee shop was recommended to me by a friend; while hanging out around the downtown Silver Spring area. I ordered the Banana Foster coffee and it was really good, but the star of my visit was the beignets! One order comes with three powdered-sugar covered beignets cook to order....so the beignets come out fresh and hot!! This is what makes these bad boys soooo good. Order and try these for yourself....You are in for a treat with this New Orleans classic. The beignets are pillowy soft, seemed deep fried, and dusted with generous helping of powdered sugar. It might not be Cafe du Monday level....but dang near close and alright by me! lol. Totally enjoyed them with my coffee. In all, a great coffee shop and excellent customer service. Kudos to the female that assisted me. She was very polite and helpful in explaining the menu to me as a newcomer. Will definitely be adding PJ's Coffee to my rotation of coffee stops when in the downtown Silver Spring area.

Very nice space. I missed out on getting the new beignets but the next time I go it's on! The staff was amazing and helpful! I loved that they have non dairy alternatives to the milk and cream option. I only grabbed the coffee to go but this coffee was definitely a great choice! I was going to opt in for Starbucks but this coffee had richness and less bitterness to it putting it a step up from Starbucks and I love Starbucks. Thanks for the great service Dontae!

No complaints! I only had a cappuccino, but I think it was a great cappuccino and the atmosphere of the coffee shop itself was great. It was nice, comfortable, and clean.

The Beignets will change your life. I'm a believer lol! Seriously friend treat yourself and thank me later. The venue is quaint and unassuming. Charming with inviting decor. The barista was friendly and efficient. I went on a Friday afternoon around 11:30a and was the only one there. Not sure if it's a little more crowded during the morning rush. Meter parking is right out front. The iced latte was sweet and creamy just like I like it, yet they have an array of yummy options. I'll definitely be back and also plan to visit the Bowie location (which is the more popular one).

Their menu is on boards behind the counter and they also have paper menus, which is helpful to those of us who need glasses! The staff was super friendly and helpful since I hadn't been there before. A+ to them for offering their coffee/espresso drinks in decaf! I had a vanilla latte and it had a deep, rich flavor. One of the best I've had in the area. For food, my friend had the bagel and lox and it was huge! She had to take half home. I had the garlic Boursin eggs. It was a nice pile of delicately cooked eggs, but I wished there was more garlic Boursin flavor. Still really good. It came with salad greens in a light vinaigrette, sauteed mushrooms, and avocado. Very nice dish. They have a serve-yourself water station and, though they bring out your order to your table, you must go get your cutlery and napkins. They have a nice number of tables for a small place and we were lucky to snag one. Overall, a really nice experience and I plan to go back with my husband next time.

All manner of alternative "milks" are available as are a pretty decent selection of local beers in their cooler if you are grabbing take out. Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium. In my experience, though, solo diners are often gracious about moving to the communal table when they notice [or more likely are asked polietly if they wouldn't mind moving] a larger group waiting. It's just one more example of the friendly neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring

I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious -- I'd highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.
