This location is very popular! For being short staffed, they are very friendly and on top of what they can control. Their food is always fresh and their coffee is brewed with excellence! Hint: they are busy from open until 10am usually, so go with time to wait in line through drive through. The lobby is generally empty so please go inside if you're in a hurry. :-) read more

I decided to come to Starbucks today to get some work done. Needless to say, I am BAFFLED at the employees here. Not only where they very obnoxious, but they were loudly making fun of customers that were going through the drive through. Mind you, the cafe is full of other people who can also hear this nonsense. The service is horrible and the staff, especially the girl with all the piercings in her face, is very unprofessional and rude. She yanked a cup of strawberry refresher out of my wife's hand because she said no ice , took it back through the window and picked the ice out with a spoon then topped it off and sent back it the window. This is a big food service no no,.... When we ordered we also asked for a cup of ice separate for my hot refresher that was in the car and were told NO!!! You ever seen that video of Mike the chicken? He's that poor little guy who had his head cut off and survived. He runs around banging into stuff and need help eating and drinking. It's a fascinating story, truly. Now imagine if there were six Mike the chickens and they all worked here at the same time. The wait time is absolutely ridiculous in the drive thru. I ordered a latte and a sandwich, and I was told I had to go back through the drive thru line a second time because the latte wasn't ready yet. I can understand if you need to have me park somewhere or make me wait at the window for my drink, but why would I have to go back and wait another 20+ minutes in the drive thru line? They have a clover machine. They have a clover sign. But they won't sell you a clover coffee for some reason. Otherwise they're fine. Well... I live in CoMo and drive past this store often, always thinking to myself that it looked nice and modern but never going in. I read all of the reviews before I tried this location for the first time and geared up to possibly be disappointed. But, I wanted to see how it was for myself. Tonight, a Saturday evening, they were short-staffed with only two people working. The only indication that there was any strain was when I heard the gentleman who helped me tell the young lady on drive-thru to "just breathe" through their headsets. He was perfectly polite to me, provided excellent service, and kept calm and cool. I've worked at a Starbucks before and know how difficult that can be when understaffed on a Saturday. My coffee was delicious and correctly made and I was very happy with my experience, even though it took a teeny bit longer than usual. As for the lobby, it is attractive and modern with plenty of outlets. Although, the coziness is slightly lacking with most of the chairs being hard barstools and only a couple of squishy armchairs. I understand that staffing shortages have been an issue during Covid. And anyone I have ever spoken to at this location has been very nice. However, I don't understand how other locations in town can do such a better job than this one. I have given them multiple opportunities to do better. I tried to place an order through the mobile app, and it was more expensive at this location than at the Broadway location. Today, I waited in the drive-through line 27 minutes for one drink, and they got it wrong! I could've ordered ahead through the app at the Broadway location (a feature that is often disabled for this location), driven across town, picked up my order and driven back in the time that it took me to sit in the drive-through line here for them to get my drink wrong. I really want them to do better, it's the closest location for me. But I pretty much think of them now as the "emergency only" Starbucks in town. read more

I love this Starbucks! I don't understand why people feel the need to be so petty about silly things that obviously were a one time occurrence or an accident. I don't visit everyday, but when I do visit the employees are always pleasant attentive and helpful. I'm sure every one of my visits hasn't been perfect, but I've worked in the food industry and I don't get upset about the little things, especially if they apologize and correct it. Nothing has happened that compelled me to write a negative review, actually the opposite. The employees at the Nifong location need some positivity because they are wonderful! These guys absolutely suck. I don't mind paying $5 or more for good coffee, or even the mediocre swill at the average Starbucks. But the coffee schmuck at this place kept getting our order wrong and then insisted on arguing with my wife and I over the order and the fact that we had to correct him multiple times. Ultimately we were charged for coffee we didn't get and had to reverse charges with our bank. This place can fuck right off. read more

This is a relatively new store. It opened last fall. I would think that whoever invested their capital into this real estate, brick/mortar, fixtures, and hired staff would want to ensure that it was maximizing their return on investment. Evidently, they don't care. From the first visit, I have experience nothing but frustration at slow and uncaring service. Inside, once you finally get waited on, there will be plenty of time to watch the circus. This staff, in a perverse way, could be classified as entertainment. The drive-up is no better. Last time, the window clerk had the tip box placed directly in front of the service window, outside on the self, directly in the path of order pickup and paying. It could have been accidentally knocked off the shelve as I was trying to get and pay for my order. The last straw was when I reached for my order the employee was holding. He actually pulled it back away from me and tersely said "that will be $6.40". Maybe I look like a drive-away. I did not use the strategically placed tip box. read more

I honestly don't know why people have left such negative reviews. All of the employees are always very pleasant to talk to and efficient. Obviously if they are busy or the machine is broken you're going to have to wait but that is out of their control. Every drink I have ordered has been great and the service has been amazing. This location is a hot mess. The actual location is crammed between a sonic and strip mall and the traffic flow around the property is terrible. I tried to give the service and employees a pass at first as it was clear everyone was still getting used to workflow. Things have not improved since they opened last year. I rarely go inside so can't comment on that spectacle, but the drive thru is awful. I can't figure out their workflow. They have two registers, it appears one for orders and one for cash, but the employees are constantly crossing each others paths and the overall impression is a chaotic and disorganized mess. There are far better coffee shops in this town to continue to support this overpriced corporate cluster bomb of a store. read more

Usually don't write a bad review but they need to know when they do poor work so that they can do better next time. They were fairly busy so understandably they take longer. They got one of our orders wrong so I went back up to have them correct. Waited 10 minutes and they were making everyone else's drinks so I went back up and asked about our drink and she said it was coming up. Waited another 10-15 minutes and as I was watching her she certainly was not making our drink and was even on her phone at one point...not cool Starbucks.... You can do better than that. When i moved to the Columbia, MO area in July, 2018, I was worried that I would not find a new Starbucks "home" that would be as welcoming as the one I left behind. Having visited the various Columbia Starbucks stores, I found that the Nifong & Buttonwood Starbucks store was just as friendly, just as competent, and just as comfortable as my Memphis store. First, whoever decided that shoving a Starbucks into the parking lot of a Sonic would make for a pleasant drive-thru experience clearly failed Civil Engineering 101. Location aside, this establishment has failed to accurately process my order several times. People working the drive-thru often seem overwhelmed and less than friendly. If you are a patient person, by all means park behind a Sonic, watch the cars try to figure out how/where to get in a line that isn't moving... then order some coffee, wait some more and have a scowling person hand you a hot cup of "I didn't order this." As for me, I think I'll drive on up to the Broadway location... I suggest you do as well. read more

I come to this Starbucks frequently simply out of convenience. However not only is the flow of traffic (both inside and outside the store) a mess, I have never been very thrilled with the employees. We visited this store several times. There is no half'n half creamer in their condiment bar. If you want to add half n half creamer, you will need to ask for it. They will take it away immediately.
