I'm delighted to recommend Sweet Swirls for their homemade treats; I've enjoyed their fresh sandwiches, peanut butter cookies, lemon bars and Texas sheet cake--that last one is my favorite. The service was as friendly and welcoming as a visit to Grandma's house with all the goodies thrown in. My guest and I enjoyed sitting in the side dining area, complete with a framed barn! Everything we got was delicious and perfectly sweeten and not too dry. Especially the sweet and savory scones! Staff was kind and patient.. however I'm giving a rating of 4/5 stars is because of how they handled the pastries. The same parchment paper was used to grab the pastries- though I have no issue with that, I noticed while grabbing the pastries the staff's fingers had touched them. I would recommend using tongs! As long as it's cleaned often that shouldn't be an issue! read more

Savory scone was delicious! Nice fluffy and not dry at all. Everything we got was reasonably priced. Marionberry scone was perfect as well not too sweet, fluffy and not dry. Lemon bar was very good. Everything in this shop LOOKS amazing, but alas I will never know the extent of its greatness. Had to wait too long in line in a small stuffy room with others and no masks, and I cannot stand very long and became very painful, with some local lady chatting on and on about nothing. Also, owner would grab items with tissue, but the tissue was not covering her fingers--fingers which touch the money and everything else and then the food directly. Too bad, because I try to support independent businesses but was forced back to the Mermaid. Just when I thought the one lady was going to stop talking, she started again and not only did it prolong this eternal transaction, its was just one second more my legs and ears could stand. And I did not trust the ungloved handled scones even if they looked amazing. read more

This girl can bake! She is a master baker-- her Texas Sheet Cake is a dream - just like grandmas! Her scones are fruit filled and not dry! Her coconut oatmeal bars are so fresh and have a caramelized top. I can't say enough good things about this gem! Her custom cakes are done so beautifully, you'll be amazed. Her strawberry shortcake in a cup is a must have. She has a huge array of very fresh baked goods daily! Everything is fresh and her pricing is so reasonable. This Sweet Shop is literally sweet! I finally figured out that it was in corning (ditsy me) and drove straight there to see what yummy goodness she had that day. Lucky me, she had berry scones and then my favorite...PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES!!!!!
