The biggest issue here is the drive-thru. If the line isn't long, it's a nice pit stop en route to work. But there have been many times when I go there that the lines are too long and slow to wait. But it's Starbucks. It's corporate-regulated consistency in terms of drinks and food. read more

This Starbucks gets a bad rep because it's on an incredibly busy street - and rightfully so considering how atrocious the parking can be - but it is the only Starbucks anywhere near unless you want to go inside of a Target, so they get a huge influx of people who don't want to travel farther. That being said, the service here is usually pretty prompt and they usually make my order right! If not, they're super friendly and go about correcting the mistake with a smile. Gender Neutral bathrooms, and a decent selection of merch make for an easy wait while they're making your drink, the lack of seating sometimes is a little frustrating! This Starbucks is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be though! Great lighting for photos and the temperature is usually pretty decent. This is an above average Starbucks. It's not as spacious as some other Starbucks I've been to however, the decor works with the area. I would say that the Starbucks is not as elevated as some other I've been to but it fits the Chapel Hill vibe. It's not super classy and modern as other locations although, it offers a relaxing vibe. I'm knocking a star off because the drive through is super small. When the line is long, cars can stretch out onto the road. Parking at this location is rough and traffic flow is less than to be desired. What a funky drive through....poor planning for sure! The engineer was smoking the ganja......or just an alcoholic. But I suppose if I was an engineer, I would be too. Once inside, this location wasn't the cleanest or most organized location I have been to. Could use a once over (or 3) with a mop and some cleaning cloths. Surprising considering the amount of staff they had on hand. Ordered a trenta iced coffee with almond milk and 3 pumps of white mocha. They got it right the first time and it was ready lickity split. Gave up Diet Coke for Lent and found myself hitting this Starbucks for a fix. Up until recently, I wasn't a coffee drinker. The staff is always pleasant, whether I am in the drive through or inside the store. One thing that sets Starbucks apart is that they can give you your drink at a lower temperature. I know this becuase I asked them what the difference is between a kids hot chocolate & a regular hot chocolate. The difference is about 30 degrees (if I recall correctly). So, when I order an Earl Grey, I ask for it at the kids temperature. I don't like drinks that I have to wait 20 minutes to drink! Perfect every time! read more

Tip: My daughters use a secret free app to order Frappuccinos with they give you the extra ingredients for the barista to put in. They love it. Myself I just get the darkest blackest strongest plain Jane coffee. Always good. The service is prompt and polite. The parking can be a challenge sometimes. My drink was made correctly, the drive-through line moved quickly and the cashier was friendly. However, the drive-through is set up weird. You can only make a left into the drive thru. If I could give this a 0 stars, I would. Not only is the costumer service lacking, but they took 25-30 minutes to make a frappuccino. People who came in after us got their drinks way before us, and so did those in the drive through. This is unacceptable. read more

Pretty decent Starbucks location. Knocking off a star for the atrocity they call parking and how unorganized the baristas can be. I also think it's a little ridiculous that they make you pull up a few feet if they screw up your order or they're running behind. It holds up traffic and you're met with honks and middle fingers being exercised because people lack common sense and decency. Definitely something Starbucks should rethink. Not overly impressed. When I walked in, the woman at the counter was working on something and had a big binder- she seemed thoroughly annoyed when I walked up. I was ignored for a little while, heard some shouting about helping the counter, then she helped me....though seemed very reluctant about it. I think this was the manager, as she proceeded to do an employee evaluation at the table in front of me. Laughable that one of her most important points was being friendly with the customers. Overall, tiny lot and unfriendly service. A couple of other annoyances but I'll save those since they will just sound nit-picky. The service is typically prompt and friendly. The staff recognizes me and they know my order. That being said, about once a month they make it incorrectly. I use the drive thru and don't realize that the order is incorrect until I am rather far away. Because of this I sometimes just go inside so that I can add the extras myself. read more

Service and quality is below average. I used to stop by Starbucks on the way to work and have stopped going to this location. On one recent occasion I ordered a drink from the menu was given the wrong size and told that it would take 10 minutes to re-make my drink in the right size because they had to serve me behind the rest of the current orders. The young lady at the drive thru window then cursed as I asked her to remake it and told me to pull up and come into to get my remade drink. A week later, I went in (avoiding the drive thru) and was not waited on for two minutes as the two employees attended to the drive thru. No one greeted me or acknowledged a short wait. I started to leave and the young man chided me for not waiting. I explained that I didn't feel they respected me, as a customer, so I decided to go elsewhere. Overall, this store has lacked a sense of professionalism in the past three months. There's too many better options to deal with that type of customer service, in my opinion. read more
