I met up with a friend to catch up the other day; early evening. I was surprised they weren't busy so we lucked out. The food/drink was good and the service friendly and fast. I loved the ambiance with couches and a laid back vibe. I wish the new CEO luck on stream-lining the menu and order processing. The food and drinks are good. They are on par with other Starbucks. They have nicer customer service than they did when they first opened. The drive thru lines take longer than the nearby locations but All in all a great Starbucks. However, I often avoid this location on purpose because they have paper straws. I carry disposable ones in my car so if I have them and a little extra time I definitely stop here. read more

After being a loyal Starbucks customer for years, and visiting my local restaurant on a daily basis, I was disappointed that my new local Starbucks had such low customer service. I started visiting this location in the last two months since moving around the corner. At the end of the day, we all understand that the food and product that Starbucks delivers will be on a similar level at each restaurant, however what really makes Starbucks a better experience than other competitors is the customer service (atleast this is what I see at 90% of other Starbucks locations). On a daily basis, the service staff look miserable and not engaged at all. Yes it is not in their job description to make small talk or be overly energetic or nice, but it is at the point where I don't feel like they want my service and I'm doing them a disfavor by coming in. I blame the General Manager for not setting a more open culture, and being completely content with the service staff just going through the motions. Why should I continue to visit a restaurant that sells caffeine drinks, only to be greeted by service staff that looks like they haven't slept in days and pre-occupied with other things ? read more

This location has a drive-thru and it's always jammed. 90% of the time the drive-thru line is backed up all the way into the target parking lot so when the line isn't too long, I always try to slip in. It's a free-standing building on Hillsboro blvd just east of Powerline road. This location does have some outside seating and of course they have indoor seating as well. Staff is friendly and even if there is a line, they're very fast and efficient. My new guilty pleasure is the Pistachio latte. The pistachio is a little sweet and a little salty and it pairs perfectly with espresso and steamed milk. It's rich and creamy and even better with a biscotti!. I have tried both hot and cold and it's a toss up on which is better. This drink is seasonal like pumpkin, so it won't be around for long. read more

I do find the wait in the drive thru can be a long so it usually is not a quick in and out. My absolute favorites are the egg bites and an iced latte. Terrible place to go to. Wanted to redeem the BOGO. They told me I couldn't because the time had elapsed. Girl told me 4p but my app said 6p. Either way, I was going to buy a drink anyways when I noticed they had a sale. Their sign was placed right where the coffee bags were. I picked up as many as we could. Brought them to the cashier and she refused to honor the deal right there in front of us. I pointed it out to her and she said oh it must've fallen. How does it fall from one upper shelf to the middle of the display?! No it was placed there. Very misleading. She wouldn't honor the deal and when I asked if there was anyone who can speak to us given that we were willing to buy $100 worth of coffee, she had no solution. On the day that I went to this location it just had one employee working. Bless her heart she was trying to do everything she could as fast as her big body could move. DON'T GO THERE!! Disgusting Went there this morning for the first time, at 10am they were already out of peppermint mocha! The employee apologized so that's not a problem I order something else and while waiting for my drink I noticed Sara, the person who makes the coffee and other drinks, with NO gloves on holding the empty cups from the inside I mean with her 4 fingers inside the cups I was disturb by seeing that that's the most disgusting thing I've seen in a while, like forget about covid, how do I know how clean are her hands yuk and when she puts the lids on she has her palm on the whole lid. I have been caffeine free for quite a few months now. However, these past few weeks I have needed a little here and there. So if I am going to do it, I am going to do it right. Yes, I gave in and had a DD iced coffee, but it didn't satisfy me the way a Starbucks could. This morning coming in to work, I couldn't keep my eyes open. Maybe it was the depressing rain or maybe because I haven't been sleeping well. Or maybe I was just seeking an excuse to hit up a Starbucks, whatever the case, I found myself in the drive through, giddy with anticipation of a great cup of yummy iced coffee. The drive through only had two cars ahead of me and I was happy! My order was placed and I drove away in less then five minutes. I never had an issue with the drive through, so I am surprised that other reviewers have complained about it. Trust me, I can and I will complain if I have a reason. But so far all of my experiences at this location have been positive. My iced coffee was delicious as usual. It was exactly what I needed on this dreary morning. Now that I am buzzing around my office on my "caffeine high", I feel like I can conquer my work day that will no doubt include deadlines and an endless amount of stress. I am holding back one star because of a management decision. Every time I try to take pictures, I am scolded by an employee. I have tried to sneak a few pictures but I always get caught. Yet, in other locations, picture taking has never been a problem. This store is so clean and modern, you would think they would want the pictures out there. Whatever, it's not my decision and I am not Mrs. Starbucks, so I will follow (or try to follow) their idiotic rules. Located on the NE corner of Powerline and Hillsboro, the location could not be any better. I recommend this Starbucks because it is clean, conveniently located and the staff is great. Sorry but I grade my Starbucks locations on a scale I made up. I came up with it to describe the frustration and applause I have for certain ones. It's really a balance of trends. If they have good coffee (I'm talking machine quality) and good staff they can often pull off a worthwhile experience. Lately, many are failing yet some still set the mark. Hillsboro Target: This location: 1). Taste of Coffee - weak, watery - put too much ice in iced drinks, too much syrup. One pump is meant to be a gentle, subtle flavor, don't try to make up for my lack of pumps in the first one. 2). Food - staff never keep mobile site up to date, whatever you order they will be out of it. I promise you. If you wanted it warm it'll be cold. If you ask NOT to warm it, they do. 3). Employee attitude - not much eye contact, mostly empty looks and somehow surprise at their own incompetence. It's like that sad, slow child who has no idea he is a on the little bus for a reason. 4). Environment - busy, chaotic, drive through lines are a bit crazy, but even when they are quiet staff screws things up. 5). Outdoor space - quiet/peaceful. read more

I was on the run and needed to grab a bite to eat for breakfast. I was in the area and decided to try out Starbucks breakfast sandwiches. I was very happy with my choice! I rarely come for breakfast. I usually just get a coffee or frappe, so it was a nice change to try out something of their breakfast menu. Not only was the service fast through the drive thru, but the cashier was really nice. She explained to me questions I had about the sandwich. I had a delicious turkey bacon sandwich for only two hundred and ten calories. Can't go wrong with that! I was so happy to get the Medicine Ball drink today and NOT have to tell them whats in it! I didnt get the name of the person that made it for me but she knew right away what was in it. The medicine ball in case you are wondering is a mixture of steamed lemonade and mint and peach tea with a shot of peppermint syrup. I got this a few years back when I was sick and again today! I must be really ill because I cant taste it. I can taste the bitterness of the lemonade but thats about it. I know it helped with my cold tehe last time I got it. I got the venti size which was $4 and change. Well worth every cent because its really good for when you are sick. The store is fairly new and is a free standing building on hillsboro blvd just east of powerline road. The store was clean and had a nice amount of customers inside and going through the drive thru. So highly upset and disgusted with this starbucks location. I went through the drive-thru on my way to work on 1/9/19 and ordered a medium cold brew with sweet cream (as usual) with their new shortbread flavor shot. As soon as i got to work and looked at my cup i saw this white stuff on the side of the cup. I figured MAYBE it was the flavoring so i tried stirring it, and then took a sip only to taste something chunky! I instantly got turned off and didn't want the drink so i poured it out into a sink only to find what appeared to be a big glob of i didn't even know what at the bottom!!!! I then called them to explain what happened and all i got was an "ok", no sorry that happened, or would you like a refund, NOTHING. So i had to ask for a refund, and was told they couldnt look up my order and refund my card over the phone so i had to physically go in. When i was able to go in after i got out of work i spoke with the assistant manager Colleen. I again told her what happened and showed her these pictures i'm posting only to be told "it's just milk fat", i said uh.. what? That has never ever happened to me before and she then proceeded to say "yeah it happens sometimes" and showed me the milk container that they use for their sweet cream which had a layer of thick milk at the top! I then told her well that isn't appealing at all and whoever is making it OBVIOUSLY needs to be looking while they are pouring it. Again only to receive an ok answer. She wasn't apologetic at all to the situation and acted like this was a normal, non disgusting thing to happen. I mean who in the world would want to and be OK with drinking a huge glob of solidified milk fat at the bottom of their coffee?????? WORST EXPERIENCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I'm scarred from this, and will NEVER return to this location EVER again. You would think starbucks being a huge corporate place would make sure things like this would never happen and if it did that it would be handled properly, but thats clearly not the case. read more

First time coming here. Its a very nice spacy (inside and out) location. Wifi works good. The staff are friendly and quick. They have enough staff working which is appreciated. With the drive thru it does get busy. I'll be back!! Update (changed to two stars from four) : I used the drive thru and got two regular coffees. One had so much coffee in it the lid never shut right and needless to say it spilled all over me and the car once I grabbed it to take a sip! Ridiculous service! After cleaning up and pouring out coffee to actually get the lid closed right I will NOT be back to this location ever!!!! And do advise you to be careful when ordering the regular coffee there. read more

I am a student at FAU - and as most FAU students know, we already have a Starbucks on campus. But it simply doesn't compare to this location. FAU Starbucks staff always looks tired, and they get simple orders wrong 80% of the time. But this review isn't meant to put them down. This is about Hillsboro & Powerline location - my study place of choice. In my experience, no nearby location really compares. The service here is always excellent, the staff is always enthusiastic, they get the order right and tasting perfect every time - just overall fantastic. Excellent environment to get work done or relax. I am a regular here, and I have never been dissapointed. Good job guys! Keep it up! read more
