My wife and I were in Denver, CO for a fair convention in the downtown area. On our way back to our room one night, we stopped at this Starbucks location. Must have been right close to closing because the baristas were cleaning up and looked to be ready to get home. It was cold, like in the 20s cold, and we were just looking for a couple of drinks to take back to our Airbnb. They were still handling their last few drive-thru customers, but they took some time to talk with us as they made our drinks. They were all friendly and full of smiles as we told them why we were in town and where we were from. It was nice to have a convo with some friendly baristas at the end of a long day. I have gone to this Starbucks quite a bit over the years. And I must say, that in the last several months, I have had such pleasant experiences here that I felt the need to finally write a review. Yes, it's a Starbucks There should not be any real surprises as to what's on the menu or how much things cost. But, for the last several months, I've been coming here a couple times a week usually around 7:45 AM or 8 AM in the morning. There are usually quite a few cars in the drive-through, but they cleared rather quickly. I learned my lesson that going inside, even if there's not that many people inside is typically not faster than sticking to the drive-through. So it makes this BUX special? Well, it seems like they nail my go to order perfectly just about every day. It's not that complicated of an iced cold brew, but I have pretty specific instructions about how much half-and-half, and how much Splenda. And, they NEVER mess it up. On top of that, the staff here have been super friendly in the morning. I really do enjoy interacting with them. My dog is also excited to get his pup cup at the window. Nice atmosphere. A lot of Starbucks at extremely busy and therefore loud. This location still does a healthy business but remains a place you could word, read, or study. Small section to sit and work. Mostly low chairs but a few tables. Outdoor seating directly by the entrance with a few umbrella equipped tables. Probably the nicest food display I've ever seen at a Starbucks. Small thing to mention but it really stands out when at the counter to order. Never had a complaint about store cleanliness but a decent amount of reviews mention interior dirt and the bathroom is mentioned several times. Maybe it's the public restroom factor? Never once stepped into this location and thought hmmm, crumbs crumbs crumbs. Great staff though. Always welcome you in and pleasantly call your name when your drink is ready. Most who know me, know I am a lover of Starbucks. I been a Gold member for over 10 years. I have visited almost every Starbucks in Denver and also Summit and surrounding areas. This is all ironic because I DISLIKE COFFEE! HAHAHA! However, I do love Chai! Many people I have known or currently know are friends who were/are Baristas. These are friends, neighbors etc... and I support my friends and family. I also do love the star challenges and have been playing them for years. I don't do much in the gaming way (electronics and such) but this is my adult way of enjoying things. Why am I sharing all this? To give you a background... I am not one to be a 'karen' (though I have had my moments) and I like to give businesses and people the benefit of the doubt. However, I can only give so many chances. It took me calling Starbucks Corporate to then get a message to the District Manager (Melissa) who did follow up with a call and text messages, to find out why this Starbucks was SO disappointing! I realize the Pandemic is a thing and has been in our lives for the last year...but that isn't a good excuse for EVERY TIME I HAVE VISITED IT IS CLOSED!!! Turns out the hours posted in the drive-thru were incorrect, along with on the website. They have now been corrected, or so I have been informed. I haven't been back to this location yet though to confirm. I went at least 3-4 times and each time closed, dark, no people. I am a night-owl, but I wasn't there late. The last time I went (the straw that broke the proverbial camels back) it was 6:26pm! Turns out this location closes at 6pm 7 days a week. TALK ABOUT EARLY CLOSING!!! Now when I lived in Summit (for 15+ years), I was use to things closing early. I hated it. I prefer things open late compared to open early, but that is me. I am from Chicago originally and many things were open all night or very late/very early. However, this place is in the city and though it does open early (great for all you early birds), it is not open late. Perhaps that is why the South Colorado Blvd Starbucks was a favorite for so many years! It was right next to a Barnes & Noble, along with a Game Stop (for my son's) and Tokyo Joe. It is an easy accessible location and large parking lot, plus open very late! When I say late, I mean midnight or later. I loved it too because nurses and doctors would come here on break, officers would come in on break, students would be studying, racers and car guru's too! You would get an assortment of various types of people! Robert was the manager and he did a fantastic job! Of course, this was pre-pandemic. I haven't seen a Starbucks open 24-7 in a very long time!! I don't think there is one in Colorado at all, though it is rumored there was one in Pueblo. Really? Pueblo? So while I was contemplating giving this location like 1 star, I give it 3 because Melissa did reach out to me and corrected the issue. She also helped me get a special order (which I picked up today) for some of my favorite Red Velvet loafs and a breakfast sandwich. For those of you who do not know, there is a huge outage of breakfast items due to the weather in Texas. That is where all the Colorado Starbucks gets their product from, shipped in by truck. Kind of a mess. I feel more for the truck drivers and Baristas having to tell people time after time they are out. Heck, most drive-thru locations have signs on the intercom or menu or front door saying due to the weather in Texas, they have a major shortage. Way to go Melissa for rectifying a situation! I ended up going to my 2 favorite locations (as of the last couple years). 44th and Federal (SE Corner) and 52nd & Federal (NE Corner Arai area) to get my items. I may try this location again, not really sure. I am still a Starbucks customer, maybe not this location though. read more

The nitro cold brew was delicious, bacon sausage wrap was good and staff was friendly. However the signs in the food display were turned around and that led to some confusion. While I was digging the 80s vibe in music it was way too loud! Coffee to go? This is your place. If you want to sit and enjoy your purchase, I suggest you find another coffee shop. Only one restroom in this location and it could definitely use some cleaning. The toilet bowl has so much nasty stains from fecal matters...I didn't take a picture so no appetite will be ruined. I have never been treated so rudely. This location is so bad they won't let you review it on Google. I usually leave only positive reviews as a rule, but this employee acted like I spit in her drink because she had to make two (of the same tall matcha frappucinos) at 5:45 pm on August 1st. I understand it was near to closing, but it wasn't an espresso drink. I don't know why I am giving excuses for my drink. This is her job and Starbucks charges enough to keep better baristas. I apologized and she sneered at me. If there is visual and sound on the video feed they would hear me apologizing and her empty rudeness. Starbucks baristas are usually the best. She was the worst. You would think most Starbucks are created equal. I don't make a habit of writing reviews for chains because of this. However, this Starbucks is exceptionally bad and extraordinarily inconvenient. Avoid it! The parking lot is constantly crowded. If you're lucky enough to get a parking spot, good luck pulling out bc the drive through people will block you in. The drive through, you'd think half of Denver's legs are broken with how crowded this tiny drive through is. It never should have been built it's so tight and spills out into the parking lot They are constantly out of everything. Baked good of your choice? Nope! Specialty drink of your choice? They'll be out of one of the necessary components. The best part of this place is how slow the service is. Some might say they take cate with each customer, but no. They're just slow with no respect for anyone's time. One person in front of you? You'll still wait 15minutes to be told that they're out of whatever you came in for. Not worth it. I'd rather fight the parking nightmare on Tennyson at a real coffee shop than waste my time here. If you need Starbucks - the ones on federal and Speer will at least have the components to make more than plain coffee. read more

I'm not really sure I agree with the hate in some of the recent reviews. I go here a lot of times after my workout at the adjacent 24 hour fitness and I have honestly never had an issue here. Granted, my drink is about as boring and easy as you can get, a non-fat latte. The staff is always friendly to me, granted I have never gone through the drive through myself, I also don't see a ridiculous line of people waiting there either. This is by far the worst starbucks I have ever been to. It seams they truly don't care about their customers. Perhaps they chose the customers they are nice to I don't know. Brand new Starbucks right on 38th Ave at Vrain. This store has T-Mobile HotSpot wireless broadband Internet service. They also have a drive through window. On the far end of the store there's a nice sitting area looking out towards 38th Ave. Great place to have a cup of joe and do some surfing on the Internet. What else can I say. Normally I wouldn't bother updating a review for a Starbucks, in fact I forgot I had reviewed this Starbucks nearly 2 years ago. However the staff on Sunday was SO rude that I'm hoping that a manager happens to see this (I will probably call the shop as well). After stopping into Sunflower, I decided it was such a lovely day that I'd treat myself to an iced coffee. Since there was a Starbucks right there it was perfect. I go in, and the cashier was very surly with the customer (who was being really friendly) in front of me. He asked her, "long morning?" and she said, "no. just tired". She was pretty curt with me as well. Then while we're both waiting for our iced beverages, he says to the barista "have a nice afternoon!" and she snapped back, "what?" and he repeated himself. I think she felt a bit dumb. When I got my iced coffee it was only 3/4 the way full so I politely asked for a bit more. She went for more ice and I said, "actually, could I please have more coffee?" she let out this big sigh and took my coffee and filled it up. I said thanks and she grunted "You're welcome." I know working retail sucks. And even though the benefits are decent, working at Starbucks has the same allure as working at McDonald's. But we've all got to do our job might as well be pleasant about it. read more

Had to change this. I'm just too damn generous with my stars. I don't want to change all my old reviews but this one was obviously too high. No McDonald's should get more than a 2 star unless something really stands out (and the only reason I reviewed this SBuck's is because of the novelty of the odd seating). As just another McDonald's of Coffee shop this one is OK. Servers were efficient at punching their buttons and keeping the cream and sugar filled. Drive thru was fairly fast too. They wisely put this one in the Sunflower Parking lot just a hop skip away. Like Gitana I thought the odd seating in the display window on the 38th ave side made you feel like you were a mannequin. It would be funny to jack with people and pose oddly in the window for the drivers by. I'll leave that to you exhibitionists out there looking for the exposure : ). read more

I think it might be against my very Yelper grain to review a Starbucks as I would rather spend time reviewing new and interesting cuisines and coffee shops, but I just couldn't help it here. I am sure that my fellow Yelpers that reviewed this shop are quite right in their criticisms, but I had to defend the little part that stuck out to me, and that is their service. I have been to a million Starbucks (who hasn't?!) and I have seen multiple different types of what they claim is "great service." Whether they actually have great service is beyond the point, the fact is, this little shop does. Time and time again, when I drive my monster SUV through the drive through, I am greeted by the warmest, friendliest, happiest people. Each and every time that I have ever been through that drive through I have left with a smile, and these days, it is something to write home about. It may just be another Starbucks on the corner of another street, but to me, it is the one that I go out of my way to get my coffee at as I know I will get what I need quickly, from great, smiling people. read more

This place is STILL TERRIBLE. I paid for my $22 order with a $50-Bill, and the mean old lady got annoyed. I have a history with this woman. My girlfriend has gotten into arguments with this woman. My girlfriend's parents have had issues with this woman. After she shoved my drinks in my face, I said, "Thank you very much!" The mean old lady responded with, " Uh-huh." I get it. You can't give everyone amazing service, but this store does not care at all. They know that they can act anyway they want because people love Starbucks. They staff is ALWAYS, well, perfect. I have been to a zillion Starbucks locations over the years, and this location has the absolute best service of any. Honestly. They don't make you feel like you're just a paying cog in a corporate machine (even though, when you think about it, you are). But the fact that they make you forget that is remarkable. As far as Starbucks goes, this one leaves a lot to be desired. The staff have generally been friendly, especially the girl who works the drive-thru on the morning shift during the week. However, the last 2 times I went there my mocha tasted burnt and watered down more than the usual Starbucks coffee. When I called to complain, the guy (who made the coffee) simply said "I don't know what to tell you." Huh. Ok. They should probably clean their machinery or stop flicking ashes in the espresso, or whatever is causing the coffee to taste exceptionally bad. I'll get my $4 coffee somewhere else or just make one at home. read more

I usually get the same drink everyday. A lot of times at this location durning the week or any one in Denver. A short brewed coffee w a splash of heavy cream. $1.78...they charged $2.45, when I questioned the price, she had a annoyed face and didn't bother to ask. So I asked again, surely they didn't have a price up overnight that much! I said never mind and went down the street to pay 1.78 at the other Starbucks. The price is on the price list in front of us!!!! I get if your new, but ask if someone if the customer seems really concerned that it might be wrong...please go out of your way just a little bit to ask especially if there is no line behind me. I was the only one in the store. I will not go this location anymore. I will go to 44th or have to start going to the smaller coffee shops!! read more

Very nice staff, the only downside is there is a lady and a guy that basically run their business out of the store so there's no peace and quiet. The guy is always calling everybody and their dog and the lady is always interviewing people. I wouldn't complain but they have been there more than 5 times when I have. I have never written a bad review or reviews in general ... like ever... however this Starbucks is just bad... i only stop at this Starbucks because it is close to my job... I also work at Starbucks so I know how drinks should be made.. how customers should be greeted and how fast it is to get things done.. well my drinks are always horrible... my teas are always watery... my caramel macchiato is always watery... I sat in the drive through for like 5 minutes waiting to be serviced.. no one was in the window ... avoid at all costs. Starbucks is always good no matter which one you go to, but I stop here because the line is fast, even when it's long. Couple of times I went inside and same story, even if there are a ton of people in line or waiting, nobody waits long and the drinks are made right.
