Starbucks has a nice pastry display with cakepops, lemon loafs, croissants, danishes and more. The service is great and the cafe is cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. Several people were studying and working here on a weekday. I stopped in for a caramel macchiato and my drink was served quickly and perfectly made. read more

Not a fan of this location. They don't offer much in the way of comfortable seating, service was not great, and I don't care for their policies. I was there to celebrate my daughter's grades, and the only thing she likes there is the strawberry frappuccino. It's a creme based drink (no coffee in it) with whip cream. Full of sugar, but I let her have one every once in a while. We ordered, they take your name, and then you go wait for your name to be called. When I first looked at the drink, it looked weird. The strawberry was not blended, but you could see thick streaks of syrup in the cup. It definitely didn't look right. My daughter tried it, and say "EWWW". I had already left, but turned around and drove back to return the drink. The girl behind the counter said I can only get another one, which I didn't want. I said I'd take a cakepop instead, but she didn't reimburse the difference. She said that's all they can do is to make another one. There is no refund. That didn't sit right with me. One thing I will say Starbucks does right is their birthday cakepop. That pop is so moist and delicious! It's crazy to think there are over 200 calories in that tiny morsel of goodness, but it's true. And you can't just have one...at least I can't. They have other flavors, but the white one with the pink frosting is my fav. Regardless, I will not be coming to this location again. read more

For teacher appreciation week I went out to buy 10 $5 gift cards on Sunday night for teachers Monday morning. I checked Yelp to be sure this Starbucks location was open before making the 30 minute round trip on a Sunday evening. This location shows on Yelp that it's open today (Sunday) until 10pm, so I headed out to get the gift cards. I arrived at the Starbucks at 9:34pm. As I was walking in the employee waived me off that they are closed. I mentioned that their Yelp page for this location reflects 10pm. He said, "no, we just closed at 9:30pm". I shared that I was just looking to buy $50 worth of gift cards to provide our school's teachers in the morning. He said, okay and waived me in. Then after looking at the registers, he said, "nope, we already closed out". That was a total waste of 30 minutes. While their Yelp page clearly says 10pm and they were there in the Starbucks working still (and they let me in) it was very disappointing that there was "nothing they could do". Not sure why a place such as the Starbucks located on 11720 Medlock Bridge doesn't seem to care / seem interested in providing accurate close times here on their local Yelp listing. And then when I point the mistake out (and it happens to be within 4 minutes of their non-posted closing time and I'm there and they are there they don't seem to care enough about the inconvenience (not to mention an additional $50 in gift card sales that was going to go to some local teachers) to take the 5 minutes effort to resolve the situation and put the purchase through at 9:36pm. After trying to figure it out for a while with the help of the very very friendly barrista with the dreadlocks, he told me my drink was getting cold. When it's the middle of summer, and you are wearing shorts, this means that your ass will freeze the eff off! I was literally shivering while ordering my drink. 2. Ordered a light ice Trenta Irish Cream Cold Brew online. After confirming my arrival at the register, I waited inside for ten minutes past when my order was supposed to be ready by, before I hear my name called out. Upon the counter is a tiny Irish Cream Cold Brew, I had ordered a Trenta. I tell the lady I assumed to be the manager that my order was made incorrectly and instead of giving my the messed up order, she poured it out. Then instead my drink being prioritized and remade right then, I wait another ten minutes. My drink comes out again. I take a sip and there is no Irish Cream. Just straight up dirt flavor. By this point I have already dedicated 25 minutes to my Starbucks order and I am extremely annoyed. I go to the counter and this time another employee comes to the register and I tell her about my experience and I was not offered a refund for my time. On top of all of that my drink still didn't have all four pumps of Irish Cream and tasted like dirt and I had to go home and spruce up my drink. I have had issues with this team before and after months of not returning to this location, I came back and it has not improved. Stopped by really late around 10:00 and wanted some decaffeinated coffee. The cashier was a little hesitant and reluctant concerning my order. But before he could shoot me down, the good guy working alongside him told me, "Sure thing, not a problem," and did the work to make one for me. It was on Saturday night and the dude had facial hair, so props to that guy. What's the deal with Starbucks service going down in general? I understand that with Covid19, people are overwhelmed with stress. However, the way the barista at this place treated me was horrible. I was the only customer in the store at the moment and she took over 5 minutes to take my order and when she finally did she said "What you want?" She yelled at me constantly too telling me where to stand while I waited for my drink, and yes I was wearing a mask. When I grabbed my drink at the bar I said thank you bc I tried not to take it personal however, she looked at me with disgust after I thanked her and then walked away. This place gets busy at all times during the day, so it is hard to find a seat anywhere. However, it is worth the drive from Duluth when working in the area. The Starbucks on Medlock Bridge Road and McGinnis Ferry is just a standard branch. There is no drive thru for this one, and it's not as spacious as the one by Regal in State Bridge Road. But I I still like coming here. There is a communal table and I think 3-4 more small tables, 4 couches, and the bar that seats three. In additional there are several tables outdoors. The baristas here have always been friendly and efficient. I don't think I've ever had an order mix up or anything it does get crowded during peak times to the point that you can't get a seat. read more
