Lavena cafe is a hidden gem in Alpharetta. Located in the publix complex on Jones Bridge rd. Plenty of seating inside with free wifi. Great place to work (very quiet) or meet friends. They have a lot of baked goods, drinks, toast, bao and other savory options. The best part is they are all fairly priced and very affordable! The toast size is huge, can be shared by 2 people! Walking in to this pot and hearing the accent and a warm friendly hello - I knew my craving was to be satisfied. A coffee and toast under 4 dollars respectively is hard to come by these days. Such a cute coffeeshop to chat with friends or do some work! They have a shelf full of pastries from giant muffins to scones to cupcakes and they also make different custard buns, toasts and croissant sandwiches. For drinks, their coffee is on point (and I drink my coffee black). They also have espresso drinks and bubble tea. I got the Thai tea custard and ham and cheese buns. Loved the Thai tea custard bun! It was only about $1 (now $4 but still super cheap) and was a Hawaiian roll filled with Thai tea flavored custard. The ham and cheese was savory but I was not excited about that. I stopped by for lunch the service was good and friendly by a nice oriental lady. I had yakitori chicken fried rice with mango green tea as a chaser. Many boba cafes don't serve food/meals, let alone dessert, so it's great that this has it all. I've made a few visits and their boba, toast selections, and dessert are all pretty good at reasonable prices. It seems like some of the food is homemade but some of it isn't. I really wish I had discovered this cafe earlier everything is so so nice. Staff is so chill, very considerate but not annoyingly nice or nosy :) Interior is quiet and comfortable (love that the music is low, some cafes have super loud music, and for what??). The food is beyond amazing!! The boba to be honest (pearls a kind of, soggy?) is not the best, but the pork belly bao and the fish fillet bao. So good! The pork is tender and flavorful, and the fish pairs really nicely with the sauce in the bun. The chicken does not have much flavor but it doesn't really matter since the sauce is quite tasty. The pandan toast was so so good, fresh and flavorful with a nice texture - my only complaint is that it's far too sweet. The pork floss toast has the same issue - flavorful but too salty. Overall i cannot recommend this spot enough. Food is so good, not to mention the amazing prices. Spent around $35 on 2 toasts, 2 baos, 1 boba, and chicken, definitely a deal. 10/10, I want to try everything on their menu! read more

This place is heavenly. It's hard to find a cafe that has super comfortable seating, pleasant jazz music, and amazing food. I ordered a chicken bao bun, and the steamed dumplings (chicken filling). Such a cute quaint bubble tea/dessert shop in johns creek. It's located in the same shopping center of Publix. The cafe isn't very big but they have a good variety on the menu. Everything from dessert waffles, bubble tea to cakes. There is usually only one person working and everything is made to order so there may be a wait depending on what you get. The prices are average for the area and the bubble tea is pretty good. A little on the sweet side though. The cakes are really good and moist. Also the macarons are decent. The Korean bun sandwiches are absolutely delicious and probably under-priced. I got the BBQ and the teriyaki chicken, and they both are a little sweet, a little sour, and very savory and juicy. I could eat 10 but should stick to at most 2. Service is quick and friendly. The coffee is good and hot. The pastries taste fresh. I haven't tried them yet, but they have a small selection of slices of cake that all at look pretty good. There aren't a lot of seats but I've never had a problem getting a seat, and it's usually somewhat quiet with that nice low hum of a cute cafe. There's free wifi, so this is a great place to do some studying or work. I think I'm going to stop in here from now on when I'm in the area! Not a bad thing about this place, except maybe that it looks out over a parking lot in a strip mall. But otherwise I think it's a great place. read more

The menu is extensive with thick loaves of bread and varied toppings offered. I'm on a low-carb diet so I went with a small chai tea latte. The latte was very good! Was in the mood for sugary treats, so I stopped by one weekend afternoon. Parking is plentiful. This adorable cafe is small, but has ample seating indoor. The space is open and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. They offer coffee, tea, bubble teas, pastries, and Artisan toasts with unique topping combos. I ordered the following: Condensed Milk Toast $1.99 Large Honeydew Milk Tea with boba $4.19 The toast was incredible! Satisfied my huge sweet tooth. The milk soaked into the bread, but did not get soggy. The honeydew milk tea was refreshing, but was lacking a bit in flavor. I believe they used powder, which I'm not a big fan of. Love that they have bao (love the cod bao and the shrimp bao), love the different toast snacks and they have dumplings too. Drinks and bubble tea were great. Everything was on point and excellent. Love their snack type food menu. We had the BBQ pork, shrimp, cod pork belly baos. We had the egg and cheese and peanut butter and banana toast. All soooooo delish. It was mid day and we needed a pick me up... bubble tea! We are new to this area so after a short yelp search, this place caught my eye. It is located in the same shopping plaza as the publix plaza off of kimball bridge and jones bridge rds. We walked in on a friday lunchtime and it wasnt too busy. We were greeted by a sweet lady and her cute son. The space is nice and cozy, and there were cases of delicious pastry items and a fridge full of creme brulees and parfaits. They also had a variety of thai desserts and packaged snack items for sale as well. The menu was pretty extensive, had alot of food items and coffee drinks as well as a small section for boba teas. They had a variety of bubble tea toppings, and i ended up trying their yogurt popping boba! Its so tart and delicious! We ended up getting the matcha milk tea and the regular milk tea. Milk tea - they did a really good job with this! Perfectly sweetened and has a nice subtle tea taste with milky goodness. I had it with popping yogurt. I will say the yogurt is really tart so it didnt go too well with the milk tea but still, so good! The matcha milk tea was bleh, and so was the normal boba. I think they just overcooked the boba so it was way too mushy and not chewy like the ones Im used to. Probably not going to get that one again. Even though one of the drinks wasnt that great, the milk tea was fabulous! And I cant wait to come back and try their yogurt popping boba in some of their other drinks! After hearing there was a new spot in town for bubble tea, I knew I had to try it. I'm so glad I did because my food was delicious! The inside is very nicely decorated and aesthetically pleasing. They have an impressive menu filled with a large variety of drinks, snacks, bread and food! The employees were also friendly! I had the Thai Tea with yogurt popping bubbles and the cheese topping. I got the Butterfly pea Cheese tea and at first it was kind of interesting but after mixing it and trying it all together I really liked the drink! This may sound a little weird but it reminds me of like the yakult drinks or like the tartness of the Vietnamese yogurts! I could see that it might be an acquired taste but it's so pretty you should give it a try! I also got the Thai Tea custard toast and the Pandan Custard bread. To me these were both okay desserts. The Thai Tea custard toast is very unique and def. satisfies your sweet tooth and so does the Pandan bread. I came by after a 3 hour long interview. You can probably guess I was very hungry. Lavena Cafe is the latest venture in this space. I have lived here a very long time and have been to many of the businesses that have occupied this space. So far, Lavena is one of my favorites. It's very nicely decorated and at noon on a summer Thursday it was almost completely empty. The only other customer was a woman working on her laptop. I placed my order at the counter and was advised the food would take 5 minutes to cook. I did not mind so I paid and went to the restroom and came back up front to wait. The WiFi password is listed in several places so this would be a good place to work. It won't be dead quiet though. The employee working had her young son with her behind the counter and he was making kid-level noise, nothing major, but if you're coming to escape your own home and children just a heads up this is not a child free zone. The prices are very reasonable. Since this was my lunch, I got a large milk tea and two chicken buns. The buns ended up taking about 10 minutes to cook instead of the 5 but I was not in a rush so I didn't really mind. I am glad it was fresh and made to order. There are plenty of dessert offerings in both a large refrigerated case that looks to be new and a acrylic case with some shelf-stable offerings too. The cafe menu is actually pretty expansive and they have several sweet and savory made to order toasts, as well as lunch entrees and assorted beverages. On to what I didn't like- the milk tea was served in a plastic cup with a dome lid and the noise of the straw rubbing against the rim of the lid made me want to tear my hair out. It produces the most awful screeching sound, worse than nails on a chalkboard. I highly recommend the owners of this establishment switch out the lids used here. Aside from that the milk tea was fine, and it tasted average. The other thing I didn't like is that the chicken used in the buns were shreds/small pieces of chicken and not a single solid piece. This resulted in a pretty messy eating experience as chicken pieces would fall out as I tried to eat. There was also a lot of cilantro on top so I ended up pulling it off as it overpowered everything else. Overall, a decent casual experience. I would certainly come back. I love the fact that this place stays open late. We came here for some coffee and to relax and chitchat. We got the vanilla latte and chai tea latte and custard toast. Both drinks were well made and the custard toast was seriously good, the bread was thick with good amount of custard. The custard itself was thick and not very sweet. This was a great place to sit and study! I went on a Saturday, and it was fairly empty. There was classical music playing, giving the cafe a very calming vibe. I stayed and studied for about 4 hours, and there was minimal distractions. I got the mango milk tea, which was pretty good.
