Myth and Legend is a small, intimate coffee shop at the front of the EVOQ apartments. If you live there, you got a built in, overpriced cafe for trendy lattes and pastries. Why go to Starbucks when you can overspend here instead? No wonder boomers complain Gen Z are always broke. Having a coffee shop in this apt complex is convenient if you live there, slightly annoying if you don't (the best parking is reserved for future residents, though the rest isn't terrible). The space itself checks all the boxes for modern coffee shop aesthetic, clean, modern, and pinterest ready. Their menu looks like every other cafe: drip, pour-over, French press, espresso, matcha, loose-leaf teas, hot chocolate, blended drinks, and the usual lineup of pastries and bagel sandwiches. It's okay. As long as their drinks are good, it's fine to have the old standards. I ordered a $7 frozen blended matcha and instead of a smooth, blended drink, I got a giant iceberg in the middle of the drink. Basically, I was sipping watered-down matcha around a chunk of ice. For that price, I expect better blending than what I can pull off at home with a Vitamix. Also, my cup had streaks running down the side from when he was pouring the blended drink into the to-go cup. Instead of wiping it off, the barista just slid it over like it was no big deal. Not malicious, just careless. I know he saw it. He looked right at it. But he handed it over anyway. $7 plus tip for a messy cup with a half-blended drink? If the drink had been incredible, I might have overlooked the mess. But between the watery texture, unblended ice, sloppy presentation, and underwhelming taste, I left more disappointed than satisfied. I was still craving a decent matcha latte, so I went home and made my own. Unsurprisingly, it turned out better. Then I sat there, questioning my life choices: $7 + tax&tip down the drain, all because I couldn't be bothered to make my own drink in the first place. Classic. On top of that, I ordered ahead using the app. The drinks weren't technically late. The app said 5-10 minutes. But they took the full 10 minutes. At one point, the order even showed as ready while they were still finishing one more drink. Not a dealbreaker, but still got me a bit impatient and got me nudged into a sour mood. I've been to plenty of places where they clean up spills, get orders out on time, and the drinks actually hit the mark. Maybe I'm just entitled and expected too much. In addition, I ordered their Frozen Blended Iced Latte, which is basically their standard latte turned into a blended ice drink. Their espresso pulls are on the acidic side. That's not wrong, some people prefer it that way, if it was deliberate. But it might not be everyone's cup of tea (or latte). For those of us who prefer a smoother, rounder pull, it made the lattes a little too sharp. To be fair, I know it's a little harsh to give 2 stars after just one visit. Maybe I caught them on an off day. But first impressions are everything. read more

Myth & Legend Coffee was exactly the kind of place I look for when on vacation. I make it a point to find one unique coffee shop on every trip, and this one stood out right away. The atmosphere is what draws you in first. It feels intentional, creative, and different without trying too hard. It is the kind of place where you want to slow down and stay awhile. The coffee delivered just as well as the environment. I tend to prefer darker roasts, and theirs was strong, smooth, and well-balanced. It had depth without being overly bitter, which is not always easy to find. What made the experience even better was the personal side of it. On my last day, I had the chance to talk with Doug and hear the story behind the shop. Learning about the journey, the vision, and how the place came together added a layer that you do not get in most coffee spots. It made the visit feel more meaningful, not just transactional. I've driven by this place so many times and finally decided to stop by! It's located in the same complex at EVOQ apartments and has parking out in the front. I was greeted with smiles behind the counter and really loved the decor and set up inside. They have plenty of drinks and seasonal specials as well as tea which I liked. I went with a hot London fog latte which was delicious! It wasn't overly sweet, and I really loved the hints of lavender that I could pick up on. They also had some freshly baked goods which was so tempting, but I'll grab one the next time I come in. The prices were overall really reasonable and quite comparable to Starbucks although I think they drinks are better here. PARKING Outside the Evoq Town Flats Apartments. There's free designated spaces for The Dutch customers. Convenient & free. II. SERVICE Friendy ~ the person I spoke to held genuine conversation with me. It was pleasant and not superficial for a change. They provide house made syrups here, including 2 sugar free options for my guilt-free friends. Also especially noted the latte art they provide ~ something I feel is rare for this area. III. QUALITY Fresh and delicious. Everything, including the Dutch Doughnuts and coffee beans are locally sourced. IV. CAPACITY Plenty of available seating during all operating hours. This coffee cafe is very deserving of the 5 star rating it has. The two young ladies working behind the counter were very sweet and made good suggestions. I tried the iced Cuban coffee which was absolutely delicious ! The shop is situated in a 55+ community and has plenty of parking. The cafe itself was clean and welcoming. The bonus was the restroom being super clean and nice as well. I would suggest trying Myth & Legend if you are in the area. I wish I lived close. I would be here several days a week. read more

Went here very early one morning with a colleague on our way to work. The barista who was opening the shop that morning opened a few minutes early to let us in and was very friendly. I had an espresso and a seasonal espresso tonic with blueberry syrup. The espresso was pretty good and the seasonal drink was great. Also plenty of seating, and they were playing some good, relaxing music. Great customer service, relaxed atmosphere, and solid coffee. read more

I'm on a mission to try as many independent coffee shops as I can. I stopped here on the way back from a doctor's appointment at Emory John's Creek -- the location is very convenient.
