a man sitting on a bench in a coffee shop

Visiting family here in Durango. There are many cute coffee shops in this little town. But if you know me, you know I'm a Starbucks devotee. It's like coming home. I'm not sure how long this location has been open, but most of the baristas are new. There is indoor seating and I've enjoyed sitting and enjoying my beverage inside. There is outdoor seating located behind the building, away from the street. If it was warmer I'd be sitting out there for sure. There is even a gas fire place. Love this location and recommend coming here. Everyone has been so friendly!!!

    Foil on my drink

I ordered a trenta iced green tea lemonade and I wasn't expecting foil as an add on. Pretty gross, the worst part is I didn't notice until I almost finished it because like I said I didn't think I'd need to say hold the foil wth

Currently on a trip and my grandparents sister and I decided to get Starbucks. My little sister got a pineapple refresher with lemonade and vanilla and as she was getting close to finishing her drink she discovered a fruit fly in her drink. We are super disappointed in this

High school across the street from Starbucks

I had to review this Starbucks because of the clientele and slow service because of the clientele, I am guessing. The place had zero adults in it at the time of our visit, mid afternoon. But it was crowded with teenagers! I am guessing they came from the GOAL high school across the street. We had to wait for a lot of drink orders to go by before we got ours, and I could swear we placed our order before some of the other teenagers who arrived after we did. There were not enough staff to handle all the orders, there seemed to be only one woman making the drinks and one person taking orders at the register. But at least we got an education in teen culture that afternoon! Watching how they act and dress and behave in a public place. Most were quiet and pleasant, some absorbed in their phones, some too young to have phones in my opinion. But it's definitely a teen hangout for some reason. Wish I knew why. Just curious, that's all. They seemed like pretty nice kids.

Ah, that new Starbucks smell! Finally, an alternative to the cattle car that is the downtown location!!! No tourist either!!! Clean, room to sit, happy new baristas... pure coffee bliss!!!

Feels disorganized. The shop used to be a Dairy Queen. Liked that but Starbucks is just bad coffee and tea with a poor menu and ants.

Slow service waited 20 mins for a pumpkin spice latte that wasn't even that good. It's coffee shouldn't be expected to wait that long!

Friendly staff, clean facility if a bit sterile. Need to add some creative signage and more accessories.

The interior is pretty nice; quite industrial looking if you face the street but more cozy looking when you face the register.

what is there to say about this place?…read more i personally have never eaten anything here EXCEPT their bakery goods which were superb, best in town, hands down. Every morning they seem to have a wide selection of freshly baked pastries, good coffee, big smiles and a beautiful building. I have seen their breakfasts being delivered to tables and can say they look delicious but a big breakfast sends me straight back to bed... When i am in town.. i stop here every single time, always, without fail.

May 2026 My wife and…read moreI were visiting Durango for a few days. She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.
