Cappuccino and the banana pecan loaf
    Kut M.

Popped into Starbucks for a quick break and grabbed a cappuccino and the banana pecan loaf, it really hit the spot. The cappuccino was smooth and not too bitter, just how I like it. Steve made a really good coffee.

I live close by this Starbucks, for me it became a good place where you can work leisurely over a cup of cappuccino

Off Alma Lane and Foster Square Lane, you'll find Starbucks. Both with indoor and outdoor dining. Service was friendly and efficient. I received my tea in good timing. On a beautiful, you can walk down Foster Square lane to the nearby park.

Starbucks in Foster City on Alma Lane is adding coffee grounds to your coffee. So disappointed! It's disgusting!

I've been noticing that recently the Starbucks in particular has been extremely dirty also the workers are very rude Here are some pictures of the restrooms never clean especially in a pandemic it should be a different situation Attached are two pictures of an example of the restroom almost always like this now no toilet liners north issues and very dirty

Matcha Green Tea Frappuccino and Double Chocolate Frappuccino

The Starbucks on Alma Ln and next to PJCC has contined to get worse with their drinks. I decided to give it one more try but only got another dissappintment. Walking in 13 minutes before closing, they had the drawer of the cash register on the counter. I stood between the two cash registers to see which one they wanted to use. One staff member took away the drawer and another staff member came to take the order. They could not find the drink name "double chocolate frappuccino" and asked if it was the "chocolate crumble frappuccino," so I said no. Then they asked another staff member for help to look for it. Both frappacinos I got were missing about half of their flavors, and the ice that was used seemed to be very old ice since they were only watery after blending. At the end, the barista also squeezed in the whip cream before putting the lid on, so the whip cream was not as nice looking as I have seen in the past, and the barista had to carefully and clumsily put the lid on with a large scoop of whip cream floating. One drink was double chocolate frap and it had the flavor of a cold hot chocolate, lacking the rich chocolate flavor that usually comes with a double chocolate frappuccino. The other drink being matcha green tea frappuccino was the lightest color I have ever seen, so maybe it was missing one scoop of matcha powder, and it tasted more like a cup of whole milk with slight matcha flavoring and way too much sugar syrup. I doubt that the recipe was being followed for both drinks. We used to go to this Starbucks a lot since it's nice and the closest. They used to have great customer service as well. Then we tried the Starbucks on Metro Center Blvd across from Costco and the Starbucks at Bridegepointe Mall (not the one in Target which is also one of the worst) and got to compare what a 5-star Starbucks can taste like with friendly baristas. I had to go to the Starbucks on Alma Ln because the Starbucks on Metro Center Blvd sold out their matcha.

I got an iced HK style coffee + milk tea which I've never had before but was so delicious. I'd definitely come back to try the other fruity drinks too! we ordered the tom yum noodles, preserved vegetables & pork noodle soup, salt & pepper fries, and the HK style french toast with peanut butter. the french toast was our favorite- it was fluffy and chewy and was just like the HK classic. the noodle dishes were both so hearty and flavorful too, and the portions were a good size. it did take a bit long for everything to come out, but it did seem like there was only one person working and she was very kind and accommodating when we had questions about our order. we didn't mind at all, especially sitting outside and enjoying the view! overall, I'll for sure be back for the drinks and to try some other HK style street food.

We were initially going to just stop by to grab drinks, but decided to sit down and order a few snacks as well. The location is right behind Foster City's Central lake and the weather was nice, so we decided to sit outside. We ordered the HK style milk tea, OG lemon tea, french fries, and the siu mai. If I just ordered the drinks, it might have been a better experience. The fries were okay, nothing special - they were a bit softer than I like. The siu mai was just bad. I'm not sure where it comes from, but it was gummy in texture and tasted like frozen food. There were only 5 small pieces and we still couldn't finish it. The drinks were priced fairly, but the snacks were overpriced for what it is. You order at a kiosk so there isn't much service to talk about, but we did have to ask for a ketchup a few times before they remembered to bring it to us. Maybe I'll go back to try the actual food dishes.

I tried the cheesy twist, morning bun, and the ham and cheese croissant. I am pretty sure I tried other things but I can't remember exactly what but these were the stars. The cheesy twist kind of tasted like there was an Alfredo type sauce along with the cheese. It was delicious. One thing I wish I would have done is ask for it heated because I saw some other people doing that and it looked delicious. The morning bun was so good. It had a beautiful medley of spices that truly brightened your morning. The flavors were so balanced. As for the ham and cheese croissant, the star was the ham. The flavor of the ham reminded me of a thanksgiving ham. It was amazing! Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. I regret not getting a full loaf of bread to take home with me.

There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.
