Recently discovered this place and today I was with my baby who fallen asleep in the car. I ordered online but I couldn't park or figure out how to pick up my order. I stopped in front of their coffee shop and run back forth saying that my baby is sleeping, let me know when it is ready. So the cook bought my sandwich to the car even though I didn't ask for that. I have never considered throwing away a drink, but the hojicha latte was terrible. It was super watered down and sugary. I could not taste much hojicha at all. It's a very light gray in the photos as you can see. I get that it's a new drink but I was shocked by how bad this was. It's part of a corporate building around a man-made body of water. Incredibly large and well staffed cafe well-situated in a walkable and peaceful area of foster city. I was drawn to Little Late Bird as part of my series looking for the best Vietnamese-adjacent coffees in the bay, and the ube latte here (new addition to their menu) drew me in, though they did have Vietnamese coffee (under their boba menu). Unlike other lattes, here the ube flavor and coffee standout together, with the flavoring being on the milder side (less sweet) which is exactly how I like it. As a bonus, I also picked up one of their spam musubis, which was fresh and a nice punch of flavor to pair well with the latte. I was also very impressed with their meal offerings as a cafe. Overall an 8/10 experience! Would come back if in the area but might not go out of my way to check it out. read more

The barista at the register was welcoming and gave good recommendations from their coffee to food options. Iced banana latte was delicious! It does have that artificial banana flavor but when mixed with the espresso and milk, flavor is balanced and right amount of sweetness. I'm always super excited to discover a new coffeeshop. And sometimes I just search coffee on google maps to see what comes up. That was the case when I found little late bird one morning after dropping off the kids at school. I love how hidden it is, and unassuming since it's attached to a business building in the middle of several other businesses. But it has a lagoon as its view for its outside tables! Very cool. The menu is super extensive. You can get anything your heart desires! Almost. :) But you might have to wait for the owner to make it haha. I asked for the Hojicha latte and the lady there didn't know how to make it. It was on the menu, but she said she usually just makes the food. She eventually figured it out and I was a little worried to try it haha, but it actually was very tasty! Success! She was fun and honest, which I appreciate. This place is tucked away behind the Sony PS4 building. It's a cute little cafe with a lot of seating. You order at the counter, sit wherever you want and pick up your food from the pick up counter. For my meal, I got the Good Morning breakfast burrito with bacon. It was decent, but smaller than I expected, especially for the price. It also took quite some time for them to finally have my order ready, which was strange because my friend got the same exact thing and got his like 15 minutes before me. The flavor was good, but as stated, I can't really justify the price for what I got. For my drink, I got the Iced Strawberry Matcha with boba. It was okay for being local. I think there's not many drink places in San Mateo that are super close to the Foster City side of town, so it was nice to have one in the area. Overall, I thought it was an average experience. You might not notice their café name right away since the sign just says "café, subs, rice, boba," but don't let that fool you, their menu is huge! There are so many food and drink options to choose from. You can enjoy a mix of Korean (like bibimbap and desserts), Japanese (onigiri), and American (sandwiches and coffee) dishes. We ordered the bibimbap, onigiri, sandwich, coffee, and their special dessert 'the Dubai chewy cookies' (they're viral in Korea right now!). Seriously, you have to try them! The weather was perfect that day, so we took a walk nearby with the dogs after lunch. The café itself was super clean and well-organized, and all the staff were friendly, kind, and genuinely caring. I've been wanting to check this spot out because they have so much variety, and I decided this Saturday morning would be perfect! First of all, this is a nice cafe, and its dog friendly, though I'd recommend you keep your dog outside lol. I love that there are treats and water for your dog! We ordered the salmon avocado onigiri, matcha marshmallow scone, and bulgogi sandwich for food, and then a sweet purple potato latte and banana bubble tea for drinks. My sweet potato latte was pretty sweet but tasted of delicious ube, and the banana bubble tea was HEAVY on the banana. I wouldn't get the onigiri again, since there's only so much filling you can put in those, but I'd definitely get the scone again. The softest and moistest scone I've ever had (many I've had were dry), and the matcha flavor came through clearly. The bulgogi sandwich also tasted like a delicious Philly Cheesesteak with crunchy pickled jalapeños. Definitely swinging by here again for breakfast, quick lunch, or even an evening snack. It's a perfect spot to catch up with friends or study although I didn't see a ton of power outlets. This is right next to an offshoot of lagoon water where a ton of birds stop by. So it's great for a picnic but the tables themselves aren't right next to the water. We ordered banana milk latte boba and a jasmine sea salt cream boba. Pricing was good and the boba balls were perfect chewiness. Both drinks had good flavor. 4/5 for drinks. Bulgogi sandwich 3.5/5 This was tasty and delicious. The only thing is that for the price I expect more than one small layer of bulgogi. So don't expect to be super full if you get it. Japchae 3.5/5 Also tasty and warm! The bulgogi is more ground beef in texture and for $13 I'd expect a little more than the bottom layer of the box. Overall, I'd still come back here and support a local shop. The brown sugar milk tea was not an actual milk tea, it was just milk and sugar. (Mostly milk) the spam musubi was cold and didn't have any musubi sauce in it. This won't stop me from coming back and trying more things, given the other reviews. I think I came in expecting a lot more because of other 5 star reviews, but I didn't get that in this trip .. Our order: ** Veggie Bibimbap with egg - it comes with the sauce on the side. You can add as little or more sauce to mix in. This dish was perfect to share, and very healthy and filling. ** Turkey Avocado sandwich - listed in the hot sandwiches. You can choose between three sandwich bread options ~~ Dutch crunch, sourdough and French. We did sourdough and it was nicely toasted paired with a spicy mayo and jalapeño to add a bit of heat to the sandwich! Toppings were tomato, lettuce and avocado, and opted out of the onions and cheese. This sandwich was delicious! The scone was absolutely delicious I like how it was a little sweet but not overly sweet. I really liked the Earl Gray flavor it balanced it nicely and gave like a wisp of savory. The place with clean the lady was nice I didn't wait very long for my order and the ubay latte was delicious. I recommend it if you're in the area or on your way to Foster City or the nearby shores. I stopped by this spot after running errands in the Bridgepointe center. It is located in what seems to be an office building, so I was expecting a smaller space. To my surprise, it was so spacious with plenty of seating and a cute interior. I only stopped by for a coffee, and wow, the iced banana latte did not disappoint. It was SO GOOD!! This review is purely for their smoothie bobas. I was really disappointed - ordered two - the strawberry banana and the strawberry mango. I asked if it was fruit and milk and the lady said yes. I was expecting something with at least frozen fruit - but it was clearly artificial flavoring (think shaved ice flavoring?), milk and ice. The banana was the most telling - the taste of artificial banana is very distinct - it was not real banana, and bananas are the most readily available fruit!! Really disappointing for the price - paid $16 for these syrup drinks. Other than that the space itself is nice and well lit, next to water and some outdoor tables. so happy this cafe opened up in Foster City! it's tucked away in the bottom of a corporate building so it easy to miss if you're not looking for it. there's ample parking right out front though which is great! we ordered 2x blue oceans and 2x banana lattes. the blue ocean was so refreshing! It was the perfect balance of sweet/tart and I loved the addition of lychee jelly. This is going to be my go to spot for when I need a pick me up like this. It was seriously so refreshing and tasty! the banana latte was smooth and tasted like Korean banana milk! Another plus is that the cafe is dog friendly!
