One barista was friendly enough, but the other didn't seem very pleasant and appeared to be running late, rushing in just before my mom and I walked in. Not the welcoming I had hoped for. The bagel sandwiches were just as good as I remembered, but the coffee was just okay. The flavor was a little dull and tasted more like cream and sugar than coffee. The shop is still nice and clean, but it doesn't feel like the cozy place I usually look for in a small coffee shop. I'm definitely bummed because I visit this area from SoCal often, and this used to be one of my favorite spots.

They contacted me via email assuring me the order was cancelled, when my next delivery was due, and thanking me for my years of service. My guess is a negative Yelp review impacts them. I like their coffee. I like the fact some of the money goes to eye cancer research. But beware, you are on your own to handle subscriptions and shipments. And because they answered my emails after multiple weeks of wrestling with this I doubled their star review- from one to a two.,,,,,,,,, For reasons known only to me I am changing my review from 2 star to 5 star. Coffee cakes, croissants, cookies, fruit tarts, and packaged loaves were all out and labeled. We bought croissants and cookies to take back to camp and they traveled (and ate) well....! The one real drawback is the building. The bakery and restaurant share a door with C.O.D. Casino next door. When that door opens, cigarette smoke comes into the dining and bakery area. The restroom is also on the casino side. That does not change the quality of the sandwiches or pastry, but it is noticeable and it is worth knowing before you sit down, especially if you are sensitive to smoke or bringing food out for a trip.
