Had a nice breakfast here. What you'll find on the menu are classic breakfast items executed well. Both of us had the sausage, two eggs, hash browns, and toast. The server was attentive and friendly. The view of the lake and mountains beyond are quite gorgeous. This cafe offers a nice option for a meal while traveling the Hwy 395 corridor. read more

Only stopped here as a "last resort" because we had already passed all the other towns with restaurant options. It was either this or possibly wait a couple hours for another option. The service was fast, the burger looked great, the fries were hot and crispy. Unfortunately, it wasn't a perfect burger because the bun was almost ice-cold. It would have been perfect if they would have tossed it on the grill and warmed it up a bit, but it seemed to have been taken out of the fridge and tossed together. Let's start off by saying, this place is almost like a hidden gem. Although it sits inside the casino, it's actually really good. We were driving back home from Lake Tahoe and needed food, there were big signs on the billboards that entertained the idea of having a great breakfast/lunch prior to our long drive home. We decided to stop here. The service was excellent, they were prompt , reliable and fast. Our waitress was very nice, she was able to provide us with answers to all our orders and even assisted with recommendations. The diner had sufficient room for large and small parties. As the tables sits along the edge of the building, the glass window opens out to an astonishing view of the lake. This diner does feel nice, it felt very cozy and romantic. Highly recommend bringing a date for dinner if you want a lake view seating and good food. I will definitely return next time . read more

I ordered coffee while I looked at the menu...it came to me fast, hot and with an amazing smile!!...lucky fact #2 Our server's name is Mary...she greets everyone who enters with a fierce amount of energy and a smile that shines brighter than the sun!!! EXTREMELY LUCKY FACT #3 Now I am sooooo not a morning person...however this morning between Mary, my delish food and the mix of soft rock (the music that is playing has an intoxicating narcotic effect)...I feel so happy and thankful that I pulled over to eat breakfast here!! We stopped here for lunch on the way to Tahoe, the food was delicious!!! They were understaffed since it's a holiday but our server told us this as soon as we were seated. This use to be a great place to eat, but no longer go there. The food has gone up in price so much. The steak and eggs was such a great deal we use to go there all the time then would drop a 20 or 2 in the casino. The special was 5.99 then went to 7,9 and now 14.99. And the steak is not near as good as before. We just recently returned to try it again and got there a bit after 7 and was told 90% of the menu is not available this late. They now have a late menus with just a few plates Available. read more

I came here with a large group and the staff was really good at accommodating us. They were incredibly friendly and had a good attitude. The restaurant was behind the casino. One standout was the comfort of the chairs at the dining tables. Soooo comfy. Food was typical coffee shop stuff. Nothing that is going to knock your socks off. read more

Great Service! Big serving of breakfast, my family didn't expect that this cafe inside the Lodge serves good food. This is a must pit stop for breakfast with a very nice view of the Topaz lake. The cafe is inside the Casino. The casino needs to tone down the restroom cleaning detergent because right when you walked in, you will smell the strong bathroom cleaner used, but bathrooms were pretty clean and maintained well. read more

My fiancé and I just left Lakeview Coffee Shop. He had the Caesar's Salad with chicken and I had to he turkey club with fries. In short, my sandwich was not edible. Not sure if it was the turkey or the bacon but something in the sandwich was definitely rotten. When the server came to clear our table he asked if I wanted a to-go box, I said no because the meat was spoiled. He took offense and started arguing with me. At no point did I request a refund nor did I expect one. Sometimes meat goes bad. It is what it is. No idea why he got so defensive. Long story short, we are now driving down the road and my fiancé just stated that he thinks he may have food poisoning. Food, service and Ambiance were all incredible! My favorite is the All you can eat Spaghetti It's FAR BETTER than any Italian restaurant I've been too! It's been a long time since my family has driven to Topaz but I saw a flyer advertising Thanksgiving dinner here and we decided we didn't want to cook dinner at home. We got sat right away and had a view of Topaz lake from the table. The soups and salad came quickly. The meals came soon after. It was all very delicious. The service was very good. Two of us enjoyed a really nice lunch here just before the labor day weekend rush. You do have to walk through a dark smoky casino to find the entrance, but once inside you're surround by windows with great views and the smell of good food! Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, service is quick, and the staff is very friendly. It's a diner, so nothing fancy, but it's a good menu. Nice on tap beer selection! Apart from the fact that there is not much to stop by on the way back from Lake Tahoe, this place is great place to stop at. It has a nice view and the breakfast was great. Maybe all meals should be eaten by lakes. Beautiful scenery makes everything taste better. The food is good. Not life changing, but you'd have a hard time finding a more perfect spot to sit and enjoy a meal. Great service adds to the experience. I had the cherry bomb burger, which was a solid choice. Enjoyed the smothering of peppers over the top. The fries were excellent. Lightly battered and crunchy on the outside, they were the perfect side. You need to walk through the small casino to the back to go here. Try your luck at the slots before you cross into California. Unless you just drove from California. I've been here a few times in the past and they've managed to stay fairly consistent. This restaurant is located inside the Topaz Lodge on the other side of the casino from where you enter. I'm not a fan of having to walk through a smokey casino to eat but it is what it is. The service is prompt and the employees, with the exception of a couple, are friendly. They were all wearing masks and enforcing the social distancing rule throughout. The views of the lake from the tables are amazing. The dining room is a bit dingy and outdated but it fits the overall theme of the place. The food was just ok. I ordered the pulled pork and while it's been great in the past, this time around wasn't so. The pork was dry and there was barely any sauce on it. I originally wanted the sweet potato fries but they were out, so I got the standard fries and they weren't anything to write home about. Barely any crisp and no seasoning. I would come back again and I hope the negatives mentioned in this review will be corrected. It is in an awesome location and has great views but if the food quality remains the way it was today, it'll be a no go for me. read more

We are locals and eat here often when we don't want to make the drive to town. First let me state all the positives . Great breakfast, chicken fried steak is some of the best around. All you can eat spaghetti is a good deal. Now, they had some of the best French fries for a coffee shop. BUT THEY CHANGED THEM A week AGO!! WHY?? CHANGE THEM BACK!! I know you're probably thinking what's the big deal, but who wants to eat stale sticks! Their fries were so crispy and good and were a real standout. We've been going to the lodge for lunch fairly often since moving to the area 6 years ago. The staff is fantastic, they all seem to have been working there for a long time. They are friendly and always remember what we like to order. We stopped going for a few months as the chef was not cooking our burgers as requested, lots of hockey pucks! They had beer battered fries on and off, which are really good, but now they've switched to not very good shoe string limp fries. We asked the staff about them, they said they've been trying to get "them" to go back to the good fries. I hope they are able to. The newer chef has been cooking our burgers to a perfect medium rare and nicely seasoned. We love the views from wherever you're seated. To whoever has control over the fries- PLEASE BRING BACK THE GOOD FRIES! or at least something better than the current ones! read more

I found this one because of it is very close to Tesla super charger location. On the way to Mammoth mountain to ski during thanksgiving, we set that Tesla charger as one stop. This restaurant is the only one in the casino near that parking lot. The food is quite cheap. I love the High roller wrap (fried chicken with veggies) and fried sweet potato. The mushroom burger and chicken wings are average level, no good no bad. I stopped by twice (the way to Mammoth and way back). For the way to, only two tables totally since it is night time, we were been severed quickly. For the way back, lots of people (almost full) since weekend brunch time, we have to wait for a while to order food! FYI, the fresh fruits are not good, please avoid this option as side. If you need to charge your Tesla at this area or want to play games in casino, here is a good option! read more

We stopped here for breakfast as we were leaving Lake Tahoe on our way to Vegas. We were greeted and seated right away at a table with a stunning view of the lake. The decor is dated, with vibes of the 1980's, and could use some updating--but the food was good, so 5 star rating is based on giving them credit for what this is....an old cafe inside a travel lodge/casino. Hot coffee served right away and our order taken promptly and our food came out reasonably quickly. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was crisp and tasty, hashbrowns yummy, and toast hot and crunchy! We totally loved our lunch at the Lakeview Coffee Shop the other day and most definitely will be returning whenever we are in the area. My hubby enjoyed his Cherry Bomb Burger and Potato Salad. The burger is an Angus beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, chopped cherry peppers, and a homemade "cherry bomb" sauce. It was absolutely his type of burger. I enjoyed the Pastrami and Swiss Angus Burger SO much that made my own copy-cat version a few days later. This Angus beef patty was piled high with shaved pastrami and Swiss cheese. I also loved the beer-battered fries. Definitely order those if you go! The service was wonderful and the view is beautiful. Due to socially distancing all of the really good tables (view-wise) were already taken, but I look forward to returning and getting a table by the many windows. read more

My last experience here at the Lakeview Coffee Shop inside the Topaz Lodge Casino wasn't the best, as I had tried the "Boss" burger for a premium price and it just didn't have the taste to justify that price of $12 bucks. So as we were passing by again on 395, I decided to give the place another try, mostly cause my tummy was telling me it was time to eat! We got a nice table booth by the windows. Looking over the menu, I think I'll stick with the standard burger selections. I thought the breakfast burger sounded interesting for $9.95 served with hashbrowns. It was a 1/3 lb burger served with bacon, cheese and a sunny side up egg and served with breakfast hashbrowns or fries if you like. My friend got the same. The food arrives in a reasonable amount of time and Wow, look at this burger! The egg is cooked perfect over easy with a still runny yolk and cooked egg white. The hashbrowns looked tasty as well. When I cut the burger in half, there was no way I was gonna make a mess with that burger whole, the runny egg mixed with the burger beef and bacon along with the cheese. I'll say, this was a tasty combo and I'll stop in and get this again ... heck I might even make this burger at home! Give the breakfast burger a try here at the Topaz Lodge coffee shop. The service is friendly and the views are beautiful. The Lakeview Coffee Shop has redeemed itself for me, I'll come back now. Just don't get the "Boss" burger. read more

Saw the billboards from 395 just about the time the kids were complaining they were hungry, so we stopped and boy we were glad we did. Mary our server was the best waitress I've had in 20 years. WoW she is a gem! And so is this place! 5 star service. The picture frame views of the lake and the excellent fresh food at reasonable prices was so refreshing and reminiscent of the service of days past. You have to walk through an old smoky casino to get to the restaurant and the dated 70s coffee shop decor could use an update, other than that it was just perfect. read more

Wow. I was very impressed with the food at the Lakeview Coffee Shop inside the Topaz Lodge and Casino. Seeing the billboards with great looking food driving out to the lake has me seriously hungry when we arrived. I was a little nervous to set foot in the building with COVID, and I'd hoped to find a deck so we could dine outside, but alas it was all enclosed so we ordered food to go. Truly solid food (4-4.5 stars for sure) that lived up to the great photos they used in their marketing. I settled on the Topaz Turkey sandwich which had roasted turkey (not cold cuts), bacon, roasted hatch chilis, melted jack cheese and a special sauce on Parmesan crusted sourdough! Very tasty. Fries came out crisp too. We ordered an extra basket too. Staff was on it, all wearing masks and they had markers for distancing too, so overall that felt good. So why is this place getting three stars? I had to reduce the overall rating because of their takeout policy. Given the fact that many diners are not comfortable dining in and there not being too many options at the lake, takeout has to be up, and charging $1.50 per item on a bill for takeout is excessive. I know that takeout containers etc cost money, but not that much, and they're using styrofoam containers to boot. I didn't see this posted anywhere in the restaurant and jt was ultimately unpleasant to see the charge on my bill. Charging it once for the order would've still stung but I know they need to cover margins and I would've understood. Per item is not a good way to operate though and that's why I am dropping the overall. Would I come here again? 100% read more
