This Starbucks is the worst I've been to so far ! The staff is super SLOW and super RUDE. I waited in line to be attended for 10 min and when the girl finally came to attend me she was having a whole conversation with the person behind me that I just left instead. I should really get names of the staff the direct this directly to them !! I order through the app so it can be convenient for me since I work everyday all day, I order 10 min prior to getting there so I can make sure that I just go in and out and when I get there it's STILL not ready ! 2 bad things today: Sign in food case: "Everything Bagel with Cheese $1.50" I get charged $1.50 plus $0.75 for cream cheese. Guy says my refill would have been free if I had loyalty card. Sooooo, I finally sign up by downloading the iPhone app. it gives me the scan code. I go to get a refill, and I'm told I need to load money on. So I put $5. She scans the refill, and it charges me $0.50. I tell her I was told it was supposed to be free, she says "yes it's free" agreeing with her coworker. But it charged me? "You need to use your card, like you buy a coffee, then your refill will be free." This is why I didn't want to sign up. Employees don't even know how it works. Basically they just swindled me into charging money from my credit card to their loyalty program, but no free refill as promised. Just like a gift card - the money is now in their account instead of mine. I must return and patronize again to use it up. read more

It's always a treat to have the atmosphere of an everyday Starbucks thrown into chaos by the presence of a single entity. In this case, the police, as well as some sort of armored vehicle. I normally don't venture to this Starbucks, but I had that rare desire for coffee after a long hike up Brand Park. Usually I'm craving a coconut water or plain flavored water... It was such a gorgeous, cool, and overcast day, it made the hike seem easy. I digress; I stopped at this Starbucks on my way home. There were police buzzing around outside but I wasn't expecting them to be inside as well. Not only that; there were some Kevlar enforced... Uh, enforcers... inside the building acting pretty chill. It gave the building this wonderfully uneasy vibe. I was so entertained by it I felt like the only comfortable person in the vicinity. You must admit it's pretty dang funny that the presence of a police force inside a Starbucks would cause the opposite of a "safe" feeling. Or it's really tragic depending on how you look at it... Either way it's a pretty simply explanation as it just tells our brain that there might be a reason they are hanging around a coffee joint, and that's just a bit scary for everyone. Especially because there are no donut jokes to be had... As Starbucks is about quality, and your health (please ignore the cake pops). This is a great Starbucks by the way. They serve coffee. Starbucks coffee... I was really hoping one of the officers would have shouted out, "we just wanted a drink!!!! Calm down!!" I also like the idea that they all would have been acting casual and then everyone's unrealistic fear would have actualized; like a bear suddenly bursts from the snack section with a 9mm and starts roaring and thrashing around its colossal claws. And then everyone is like, "I knew it! Why else would they be here?!?!" Mostly the bear is just angry it doesn't know how to use a gun. And then my mind gets lost in the whimsy of a bear with a gun and I wonder what it would be like in a world where animals suddenly know how to equip firearms. As horrible as gun crimes are, you have to admit some part of you would giggle after reading: "Zebra Escapes Zoo, Local Police Locked in Fire Fight After Zebra Wields Ak47." Regardless of how you feel about hunting, there exists a sort of sweet justice knowing elephant hunters might expect return fire from any given expedition. And I especially like the idea of a man neck deep in camouflage taking aim on a deer only to hear the click of a pistol... He slowly turns to his left to witness the deer's husband holding a gun stiff to his head, "got you, mofo." Animals can talk now too. I don't mean to make light of violence or suggest humans deserve Mother Nature to turn against them in a new and spectacular way. But I do mean to avoid actually reviewing this Starbucks. Because if I've said it before, I'll say it again... a bucks is a bucks. And if you're waiting for a joke about a male deer. I'm impressed by your zoology knowledge, but you're lacking in the hip-hop trivia department... Young buck. read more

The most annoying thing at Starbucks is when the cashier says "What can I get you?", then looks away, does something else or talks to another employee, the looks back at me and says, "What was that?" Don't ask me for my order if your not ready! It's so rude. If something come up while I'm ordering, that's fine, come back to me and say "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?" Not ask me to repeat it like I'm speaking in tongues! That's BASIC COMMINICATION 101! I actually stopped going to the Starbucks in Toluca Lake because this happened every time I went in. My friends and I visit this Starbucks often since it's basically the only one that's not crowded. It's a great place to do our homework and the staff is super friendly. They are like a second family. Sam the barista just knows what he's doing. Definitely only person that gets any and every drink right. Definitely a must try if you're in the area. I went in at 8:30pm. They close at 10:00pm. I ordered a black tea lemonade. The guys both say , sorry were out of black tea oh, and green tea too. I asked when they expected a shipment. They said oh, no, we have it were just not making anymore tonight. So with an HOUR AND A HALF until close, no one can order a drink with black or green tea. It's 85degrees out and I can't get my favorite cold drink. I said, that's ok, I'll let corporate know, have a good night. THEN he says, well I can brew some if you want...I said oh, now? This is my go-to place for coffee when I'm too lazy to drive to my usual Coffee Bean. Always clean, staff is friendly and lots of parking. They also carry Pike Place roast (med.), which I haven't seen at all Starbucks. In fact, I haven't seen this since I was AT Pike Place Starbucks and they claimed to exclusively carry this roast. Did I buy two pounds of their beans for nothing?? Oh well. At least I can get it here without a two hour flight up to Seattle. read more

This Starbucks is a little bit smaller than some other ones I've been to but it's still worth coming. The staff is great and my soy vanilla latte was delicious. The only down side is they don't have the clover coffee. Typically a little better than their pile roast I usually get the clover coffee. So naturally I went and asked for the clover coffee. The girl had no idea what I was talking about...she literally said, "what is a clover?" So I said never mind and explained what it was...ie a reverse French press yadda yadda yadda... She just kind of looked at me like I was stupid rolled her eyes and told me, I guess we could ground up coffee for you. I'm glad Starbucks educates their employees regarding the product they make their money from. Grounding up coffee and pouring water over it is called a pour over. Grounding up coffee for the clover is a single cup brewing system that incorporates a French press and well as a vacuum pot. And to think I had three interviews at Starbucks and still wasn't hired. One of my favorite locations is this one. Big parking lot, plenty of seating, and right in the middle of everything. Great big windows makes for natural light that's perfect for reading. The place can get hot when the sun goes down so if you're planning to set up shop there, make sure you can dress appropriately for the heat. As usual, the service is great and everyone there seems to be very friendly. My suggestion is that if you are coming in and find street parking on your way there, grab it because sometimes parking can be a bit distant. read more

Used my mobile app to order so we could just pick it up. My venti was filled like a grande. Called and asked for a manager and I was told I was talking to one. I explained my issue and she said they'd make a note for next time or I could come get it now. I said I would go get it now and she demanded not only my cup back but threw out the original coffee, and was not very friendly. This is the Starbucks (actually, coffee shop) closest to my house, so on days when I need coffee before work I head here. I usually use mobile ordering and they always have my coffee ready by the time I'm there. My coffee always tastes fine and they never get my order wrong, so what more can you really ask for. This is a small town Starbuck operating in a big city. The staff is very nice, and clearly like there job. It does get busy at times (welcome to LA). One of the best Starbucks I've ever been inside. The management of every other Starbucks should come here to learn how to train their staff. These guys are pros. They are friendly, fast, efficient. I started coming here while doing temp work in Glendale. Within two days, they were greeting me by name and even had my drink waiting for me as soon as I got to the counter. They work together like a well-oiled machine...and, they actually call out your orders loud enough so you can hear them. The fact that a couple of them have super cute smiles is only icing on the cake. The only downside to this place is the crowd of old people who tend to loiter around the door in the morning. We come here about once a month after we go to the New Look Skin Center. Been satisfied with their service and the food/drinks. Well, today we encountered Debbie who was taking our order at the register. Sad to say, she was probably not having a good day. No eye contact, no smile. Her statements were rehearsed and robotic. She seemed irritated that I wanted to use 2 rewards on my card. Initially she told me that I couldn't do that then another girl told her she could (Thank you, I didn't get your name). This a customer based business and you need to have a decent PERSONALITY if you're going to be dealing with people!!! If you're not happy with your job, find soomething else!!!
