This Starbucks used to be my goto location, but over the last year it has gone way down hill. It is easily now the slowest location I've been to in the US. They are consistently understaffed, the food case is always a mess, the dining area is dirty and there is no sense of urgency by the new management. Honestly, if there are 4 people ahead of you in line, you're easily looking at over 10 minutes to get a cup of drip coffee....yes that bad. The staff clearly does not work efficiently together and is the exact opposite compared to locations in Hopewell and Princeton. After a month or so hiatus from the Hamilton Starbucks, I revisited yesterday. Same nonsense. Slow and the coffee was actually luke warm this time. The place really needs to change management and retrain the staff. read more

I'm not sure why Starbucks would choose such an odd location for one of their cafes in Hamilton. It's on a busy intersection that can be difficult to get in and out of. Friends from out of town have been throughly confused when they try to navigate there on their own. I suggest approaching the store from the north side (coming from the Hamilton Library), so that you can make a easy right turn into the parking lot. On the plus side, this Starbucks has many tables and room to work, chat, etc. both inside or outside...just be aware of that should you decide to drink your coffee outside, it can get very loud (all Hamiltonians under 30 love playing their music very loud while waiting at red lights). Location aside, the service here has just been okay in my experience. How can I say this without being mean...most of the baristas here don't really put their best foot forward. I'm not expecting five-star hotel service, but correct drink orders and a smile would be nice. read more

This starbucks is near my office, so I visit it frequently. Today morning, they messed up my breakfast order, but when I came in later bringing that wrong order with me, they were more than happy to fix it for me and even gave a small gift card to cover for the inconvenience. That's great customer service. I appreciate it. Mistakes happen, but owning it and improving in that aspect makes this location a great, customer-friendly location. 5-stars for sure read more

Although I did have good service from 1 employee, truthfully this is one of the worst locations. They open at 5am, and I arrived at 5:40am to get a venti dark roast and they did not have any made. (They hadn't run out from serving it all, they just hadn't made the coffee yet.) The line can get very long at the drive-thru, and every time I reach the window I see three people barely doing anything, but standing near the drive-thru so they can talk with the other employees. One day, I pulled up and overheard the manager telling the employees, "Let's go, you have to get the customers through the line. Why aren't you getting people through more quickly?" Three employees were standing in front of her, one of which kept his back to her and was clearly ignoring her, another barely looked at her and just waited for her to walk away before he left the window. Another morning I arrived and no one was in front of me. I place my order, drive up to the window, and the girl says my total is $15+. I knew that what I ordered was around $10, so I asked for the receipt. When I pointed out that it wasn't my order, the girl said, "Oh, sorry. The person before you didn't pay for their order and it was still in the queue." The majority of the staff is useless, and they lack the self-respect to do their jobs well. read more

I had a horrible experience today at Starbucks on Whitehorse Mercerville Rd. Hamilton Township NJ. I went to meet a friend with my son who has autism. A customer complained that my son was too loud so a worker asked to speak with me aside. My son demonstrates courage everyday. Starbucks , you are celebrating equality yet I felt diminished in your coffee shop. It's coffee shop not the theatre. I have seen children yell and run around and I would never consider it an annoyance. You are not showing equality for people with disabilities, all disabilities. I went to Starbucks this morning for two drinks. I placed my order at 11:39 and sat down to wait. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out and the barista was very busy. I waited 21 minutes for my order to be prepared. While waiting there was at least 10 customers that came in after me and received their order promptly. There was another woman who got there before I did and she decided she was over the wait and she requested a refund. She was visibly upset and personally I don't blame her because I was also at that point. After she left I watched an employee, I believe she was a manager, roll her eyes at the customer. I understand the rush of customers but the wait and the managers behavior in front of a crowded store was absolutely ridiculous!!!! read more

I have been a Starbucks customer for years and never have problems anywhere like I do at the Hamilton store. I ask for light milk, as in LESS. The barista drowns my iced coffee so it loses the flavor. Then I ask for extra whipped cream... in this case they think you mean half the cup should be filled with it rather than just the dome lid. One time I went there for a Venti iced coffee and I MEASURED 5" of whipped cream! I mean really? You guys need to realize this coffee is expensive and your loyal customers expect quality. Mistakes are inevitable but 9 times out of 10 it's carelessness. I have stopped going to this location and now drive 6 miles further to get my coffee from the Bordentown Starbucks! read more

This new location is absolutely terrible and I will not be going here again!! I wish the old staff from the old location across the street were at this new location. You place a mobile order and either it's not ready or the make your beverage wrong. I went in this morning and there where 5 employees there but only two were actually working. The guy who made my coffee gave it to me ice cold. I let and went back and he remade it and it was ice cold again. I asked for an americano with a splash of coconut milk and two stevia. And what I got was a cup of coconut milk. I am very disappointed at this new store. They need better training and maybe have a supervisor at all times watching them. Full disclosure: though my drinks sat around for quite some time, they tasted fine. The low rating was for the turtle-like speed and lack of a proper system for mobile order pick up. The line of 4 in the store and more outside (all with mobile orders) stood around watching their drinks sit behind the plexiglass shield. We all dumbfoundedly asked each other why we can't just give our names & get handed our drinks if they were ready. Nope, they took each person, one by one, and if their drinks were not ready they didn't allow anyone else to be served until the order of the person before them was complete. Not to mention at least two employees were not wearing their masks properly. Honestly this is the best Starbucks in Mercer County! My drink is always perfect and my order is complicated so I applaud them for getting it right! Everyone is always nice and cheery, even in the wee hours of the morning. The only problem I have with this Starbucks is this one employee: Leeana. After having her make my drink wrong twice I now refuse to let her make it. HOW DO YOU PUT THE WRONG SYRUP IN A DRINK!! Cinnamon dulce syrup is COMPLETELY different than caramel syrup?! I have no idea. So tips to anyone who goes here: make sure ANYONE but her makes your drink! Her name tag says "Cha" or "Cha-Cha" one of those. I needed a place to work from due to being in the area for only one morning. I don't live near the area, so Starbucks is my default remote workplace. Great customer service! I ended up working here for a whole morning and I had my two kids with me. Plenty of sitting space and workers were super nice. Plenty outlets to charge my MacBook. Kids read books that they brought along. They enjoyed their breakfast here. There was a mix up on my breakfast wrap, but they made up for it by telling me to keep the wrong one and then also making the correct one for me. The little things and being nice goes a long way. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had throughout multiple Starbucks I've been to in the nation. read more

Like others have said this Starbucks has really been going down hill. Very slow. And if you happen to show up when one of the employee's friends show up prepare to wait longer. They will chat and of course make their friends drinks first even if you order before them. This place is a Disgrace! They do not know how to make drinks or even know what you are talking about when you tell them that the drink is not made this way! They hire young kids who have no idea or who are poorly trained!! I would never go to this location again!! Stay away!!! As soon as Starbucks released their winter menu, I knew I had to try it. I looked at all of the reviews online and came to the conclusion that the winter drinks were worth the drive. I quickly drove over to my local Starbucks in Hamilton, and waited in the drive thru line. The line took me ten minutes to get through, but it was worth it in the end. I ordered a hot peppermint mocha latte and a gingerbread muffin, warmed of course. Now I usually am not a hot coffee fan, but it was way too cold out for iced drinks. The staff at my location was incredibly sweet, and loved thepuppy that I brought with me. They had my items ready before I even arrived at the window, so our interaction was brief. The Peppermint Mocha latte was amazing. It was the perfect balance of peppermint and coffee. Usually peppermint is an overpowering flavor but in this drink it was not. The muffin was good, but warming it pushed it to the next level. I realized that I'm not a huge gingerbread fan, but my sister who is, loved it. The muffin was moist, and crumbly, making the texture perfect. The muffin with the latte was an amazing combination, and even though the muffin wasn't my favorite, the two together is something I will try again. I very much recommend trying both of these items, or any of the items on their menu for that matter. read more

i won't lie, i find it hard to give Starbucks a bad review. except the one in Edinburgh where the barista was actually rude to me... but this Starbucks does what all the others do, serve coffee consistently with a friendly smile. i still find a huge amount of comfort in the idea of chain restaurants and coffee places. it's pretty much the same no matter where you go even in a different country. so i live in Scotland now, but i can still walk into this place in New Jersey with my sister and order the exact same thing i would do at home. awesome! i actually find that places in the States have more food options and some different drinks which is fun and i wish that they also had these options in the UK. why dont' we get tasty breakfast wraps??? so perhaps my review is a bit biased, but i find Starbucks pretty consistent from food, to beverage, to service. the company ethos clearly carries across continents. read more

We're moving into the area and glad there's a Starbucks nearby. However, this place is DIRTY. It doesn't seem like they clean the facility at all. I'm a Starbucks regular and been to other locations but this place is the dirtiest so far. Ppl make messes and the staff should be on top of making sure they keep up with the nice and clean appearance. It's the kind of place where ppl wanna sit, relax, & lounge while enjoying their favorite beverage. The staff are nice though and I enjoy the music. The guy at the register gave me an attitude and they made my drink wrong - asked for an extra pump of frap roast in my frap and got basically a cup full of FR and weird foamy ice on top. I've ordered this many times at countless other Starbucks and never had this issue. Disappointed. read more

Tuesday I I had a lovely vanilla frappachino with almond milk from here. Wednesday I came back for another having finally found a nice dairy free coffee treat here that I don't have to make myself. As I was watching my drink being made the second day in a row I noticed the container my barista poured my milk from didn't look like any almond milk I've ever seen. I was handed a pure white drink that looked nothing like the drink I received the previous day. Before I left I asked the barista to double check that it was made with almond milk. He replied "yes ma'am!" There was no espresso in the drink the second day which may have been a simple mistake. Perhaps I ordered it wrong not being particularly familiar with the Starbucks menu. However, my drink was absolutely NOT made with almond milk! Which again could have been a simple mistake and an easy fix considering I double checked that it was made correctly. But instead of admitting a mistake and fixing it I was simply lied to and dismissed. Immediately upon arriving home I was sure that there was whole milk in my drink due to my severe stomach cramps sweats and migraine! It is a very serious responsibility to serve dairy free beverages as the consequences of an incorrectly made order are very severe for people with dairy allergies and intolerances. Please never lie to a customer again about the contents of their drink and pay very close attention to dairy free orders!! This experience here has no cost me the entire rest of my day and most likely all of my fourth of July festivities! read more

The last time this place was cleaned was never. The place where you put cream and sugar in your coffee could be more efficient...after waiting in line for your coffee you have to wait in line again for cream and sugar and then wait again while they refill the one tiny container of cream. read more

I am a regular customer. Specifically because one of my great friends works there, so before I go into school, I always visit her when she is working. She is a lovely girl, and so sweet to the people that come in. However, she does have her bad days, and I notice this only when she is working with her manager, Gabi. Gabi has been nice to me before, never really talked to me, but today was not a good day. Again, I am a regular customer, so I know the protocol. If my friend is working, and it is busy and she is with her manager, I know not to distract her. I keep my mouth shut and just wait for my drink. Today, I walked in, said hi, noticed the manager and that my friend was upset, and just stood there, and waited. Then, when she gave me my drink, I said thank you, and stood there an extra couple seconds, to put the cover on, taste the drink. All of a sudden, Gabi, from the register, says, "She should not be talking to you". I had never said a word, except for hi, and thank you, you know, the polite thing to do. So, when she said that both my friend and I looked at her confused, asking if she really was talking to me. We both told her I never said anything, so we don't know where she got that from. Then she proceeded to say, "She is waiting to talk to you". Excuse me?! Yes, we're friends, and yes I'd like to talk to her, but that does not mean I'm going to interrupt her job because of that. Gabi knows we're friends, but she also knows I am a regular customer, so she should know that I know the protocol. At that point, I was so aggravated, I just left, without saying goodbye, because I did not want her to get into more trouble. Now that I think about it, Gabi really made herself look bad. As a manager, why are you accusing a customer of anything? I would see where accusing someone of stealing would be appropriate, but just because I was standing by the counter, waiting for my drink, and stood there a couple seconds, your going to accuse me of talking to my friend, or waiting to talk to my friend, when it is busy? I am not stupid. It just really aggravated me that, as a manager, you should know not to do something like that, unless it was a really serious deal. If it was that big of a deal, pull me aside and talk to me, like a human. Do not call me out in front of the other customers in line. You really just make yourself look bad. Basically, this review is about the manager, and her poor decision to speak up in front of all of these people who are waiting to order, wasting their time waiting for her to stop accusing a customer and your employee, who was just doing her job. Lots of hustle at this location. Parking can be tight, and busy times of a notably concerted tone, but I do not go to Starbucks for the greetings. Highest traffic times people are in and out, so you may wait for someone backing out, but be extra careful and you are good. If you are sitting, you may find yourself cleaning the table beforehand. At least I often did, not bothersome considering it is the only area location and girls behind the counter are always handling business, stock, cleanups back there. read more
