I love this Starbucks. The primary reason for me liking this Starbucks is its vast expanse unlike other Starbucks locations in the area - you will most likely find a place to sit. This is a large Starbucks with a lot of table and comfy chair seating. It's larger than you'd expect for one that is in the middle of a strip shopping center and not in a standalone building. It's quite busy on a Saturday morning with young families and kids running around. At this time of the day it's not a quiet place to chill or work but the activity is great if you like people watching. The staff is friendly and working hard. If you want to sit you can't be shy about cleaning off your own table. The menu is typical Starbucks (hint: get a double short or double tall if you want a reasonable espresso to milk ratio). read more

I just sat at the register, on an extremely slow day, for 7 minutes. I was looked at multiple times but never acknowledged by the 2 very capable people "running the bar"; not a hello, not a one moment, not even a call to order. Nothing until the lady doing dishes in the back came to greet me. The main issue I have is that I myself have worked at a Starbucks for 4 years and been a Certified Barista and Certified Learning Coach in the past. None of what I just experienced is acceptable on a customer service level OR a Starbucks level. I have lived around the corner from this Starbucks and frequented it for the past 8 years. This neighborhood used to have a bakery where this Starbucks now stands. And there used to be a family-owned coffee shop tucked into the opposite corner of the strip mall. Neither are now there, crushed under the coffee chain with the most bizarre and indecipherable logo around. This is a real shame, to be sure, but evolution's a bugger, no matter which way you slice it. As it is, our society has decided that Starbucks is the cream of the coffee shop species, and so we have quite a large example of it in the middle of Franklin Farm strip mall. And you can see why. Free wifi. Reasonable coffee. Good pastries, healthy lunches, a nice warm gathering place for some and a haven for others trying to escape their friends, families, or both. This Starbucks has lots of well-sized tables and tons of chairs, perfect for gathering with friends. There are a few outside, too, though I've never seen the appeal of drinking coffee while watching people escape from the Giant down the street. It's also a good spot for remote working, if for some reason your house is too loud, too cold, too familiar, or some combination of all three. The baristas here produce generally consistent beverages. Sometimes they're a little light on the espresso, but generally all is as you'd expect of a suburban Sbux. But it doesn't stop me pining for extinct examples of the species, regardless of how poor or great their coffee may have been. read more

I came here Saturday morning 5/12 while I was on my way to work. I had ordered using the app, a matcha lemonade. When I get there they have an empty cup with my order stick on it over which they wrote "out"... I asked the barista and she rudely said that they do not have any matcha. Since I ordered on my app I was confused as to what to do next ... so then I asked her "so .. what am I supposed to do now?" And she,again, rudely said to go to the register and get a refund ... like ok? Not only did I have to go all the way back to my car to get my phone and then wait in a very long line for like 15 minutes, but when I got to the register another barista overheard me talk to the cashier and she said that they actually do have matcha. Why did i waste my time and also came to work late because the other barista didn't care enough to check if they actually have matcha before she wrote "out" on my drink. Starbucks never fails. Somehow there's always plenty of coffee with folks wearing green aprons, black slacks and a friendly smile. In reference to the previous reviewer, this Starbucks is small! Perhaps it downsized as I only noticed one small couch and six small round tables. However, I did notice a few flies in the store. For a second I was about to catch them using two straws as chopsticks. Despite the flies I'd come back for a cup of java. read more

They made my order wrong. Forgot to put chai spice pumps in the drink. Asked them to correct it and they did but then they didn't put the espresso shots in. I paid for the drink but didn't get what I ordered. I gave up after the second try. I'm really tired of Starbucks employees not following instructions, caring about service or product, and not having an attitude when you ask for something to be remade that they did wrong in the first place. I have a few "go to" stores where the baristas actually care and do a great job. I need to stop trying other stores since it only leads to disappointment here in the Northern Virginia area. read more

This starbucks is in The Franklin Farm center (next to the newly rebuilt Giant - which has starbucks inside as well - go figure that one!). I have seen it get busy right around 9 AM on weekdays for about 30 mins and then again at noon from 12 to 1 pm. Rest of the time it is fairly quiet. read more

First off, I love Starbucks coffee. This review is about the Barista at the time I went in. He was obsessing over a video game some customers were playing. After I placed my order he was just finishing up the previous customers' order. He then went to put my frap together, but then went in the back without saying a thing. The cashier didn't know where he went and hoped he put everything in the blender. She then proceeded to make my frap. He then re-appears with gaming console in hand and proclaims he isn't embarrassed. The cashier apologized for everything. She was absolutely professional. He was NOT. I personally work in the service industry. If I had done that, I would have been sent home. I understand it is a Tuesday and slow. That is no excuse, whatsoever. Imagine if it were busier....This generation of young adults seem to be very self untitled. It's disgusting. read more

If your looking for coffee drinks you'll find them here and they are good but if your looking for just coffee a real cup of joe you will be disappointed . My entire family are loyal customers that frequent this Starbucks and personally for the staff we would love to check all the stars they are very nice folks but somehow something has changed in the last several months as to the way they have been making just basic coffee. I drink espresso or coffee and when I get home I put around 3 tablespoons of half n half into my regular Starbucks coffee and it is still quite dark and has a great flavor. The last month we have had to literally drive back to Starbucks and have them remake the coffee it had been completely watered down to the point that you could see through it even MC Donald's coffee is stronger .I should never be able to see through a coffee not from Starbucks. We thought it was a fluke and last time we were there we reluctantly had our money returned and we headed next door to the Starbucks in the Giant Grocery store and had a great yummy cup of Starbucks coffee hot and strong. It is the 9th of august and again my husband waited for a so called freshly brewed cup and I was so looking forward to it and again I took the lid off it is light colored and I can see the bottom of the cup not typical of any Starbucks coffee that I have ever had and I am so disappointed. When we asked they claimed the don't sell enough coffee so make it differently now. This was the fourth cup of bad watered down coffee so even though they make other coffee drinks great for our family we have decided to take our business to another Starbucks . If a coffee place can't make a regular basic cup of coffee then I vote with my pocket book and say no more to the Starbucks in the Franklin shopping center. read more

This is my 'home store" and I really like the people who work there and manage it. They take the time to know my name and remember my drinks. The store has high volume and they work hard to keep it clean. The drinks are consistently excellent and on the rare occasion I am not happy, they will make it right ( only 3 times in the last 10 years did I have to send a drink back). If you walk in this store and there is a long line, STAY! They are brilliantly fast and take care of you. Their barristas are skilled and my stand out choice is Kim. Also, they keep their bathrooms clean and that's nice. read more

This is a review of the mobile ordering service for this specific location on 20 April and 18 April. The coffee was not ready for pickup. I had to get in line and ask the server both times for the coffee on the dates mentioned - which defeats the whole point of the mobile ordering service. There was not a crowd as far as I could determine. I don't normally yelp successful retail experiences, and rarely tip retail, but for the record, my previous seven mobile ordering experiences at this location were fine.
