So before (and after) taking my son to Big 5 for new football cleats **see previous review** I made a pit stop at Starbucks. First for my son....he got a tall blended strawberry lemonade. No complaints from him. After scoring big on cleats and discovering the selection of shoes for me, I decided to get a drink for myself. I ordered a Grande Caramel Frappuccino with extra caramel drizzle and a blended shot of expresso. I was expecting a little more caramel drizzled on top of the whipped cream. Sometimes it comes with and sometimes not. What I actually received was not that. The drink was basically saturated with caramel. There was about an inch and a half of solid caramel sitting at the bottom of the cup. Honestly I love caramel, but I was sucking caramel up halfway up the cup. It was a little much. Not sure if it was intentional or not but I couldn't even drink it. If there was a blended shot added, I couldn't tell because it was so sickening sweet. **Full Disclosure** Since I haven't received a reply regarding previous complaints, I filed complaint with Starbucks.com **Edit- I did hear back from Starbucks via their website. As a student at Pacific, caffeine is a must. I refuse to drink Einstein's coffee, and this Starbucks is only a little walk away. I get a simple Venti coffee, three pumps white mocha. I've had better experiences at most other Starbucks locations in the Portland metro area. The service and drink quality lack at this location. Last time I was here they ended up making drinks for people that had ordered after me, which I normally don't care about but I was really in a hurry and it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered. Employees were chatting and not working very efficiently. Also, my drink tasted bland and not made properly. Another time I had a coupon which they wouldn't accept, although they couldn't give me a firm reason as to why and I had friends who had used the same coupon previously that day. I ended up emailing corporate (yep, I'm one of those people) and they sent me two free drinks for the inconvenience. Yay SB corporate customer service, boo 10th Ave. Hillsboro location customer service. Chances are you'll find better service and quality at most other Starbucks. read more

Typical Starbucks chain. 1 drive thru window (always busy) and 1 walk up window on the other side. Close to proximity to Pacific University Health Professions campus and Tuality Hospital. Fast service, but sometimes their employees can get your order wrong (I think they are still in training). Sometimes the employees are nice, I guess it depends on the time of day or their stress level. But hey all work places are like that. I'd go back for my coffee fix and I need to cram the night away. read more

Baristas are friendly and fast. Even when the line is 6-8 cars deep it still only takes 5 or so minutes. The location is convenient but if your trying to get in from the main road it can be difficult. read more

I can't say I visit Starbucks a whole heck of a lot throughout the year, but during the month of December I make up for that. There is no other egg nog latte as good as the one served here. I have also found a new weakness....peppermint cake pops! Ohh,..I know it's wrong...all those calories, calories, calories! But I figure I'll be dead soon enough, might as well enjoy life while I can! They are mighty GOOD! The staff here has been really nice the last few visits...very nice. Today, I guess they messed up an order...and gave me the free latte that would have gone to waste. Yeah, okay, I'll take it! There was a super long line when we got there, but it moved very fast! Things can get a little bit slow if there are a lot of customers in the drive through, but you'll usually be in and out fairly quickly. This place isn't friendly as other Starbucks I been to. I went through the drive thurs and I feel like the cashier purposely drop my change in my hand and miss. I was this close to throw a fit, instead I keep my cool and try to reach out for my changes on the floor, the chick didn't seem sincere at all for being pretty rudely of letting go my changes and fall outside between the window and my car. I can't believe I order four things from here and being treated lowly. It common senses to pay attention as a cashier to make sure the customer reach over for change, ESP a drive thurs. Just happened. I usually get fine service here but this is the 3rd girl at 2 starbucks who dont listen to the order. I am at a walk up window. 1 person behind me. I enunciate clearly & firm voice. I dont boom but prkject fine according to my hubby. I asked for a iced americano & leave room for my cream. I lifted my 2oz container of special cream from home to chest level so she could see it. She said ok. Takes another ladies order. Then hands mine out window & I say, oh no room for cream.... She says well if you make sure & tell us we can... I said I held it up to you. She says sorry we can take some ice out.... I say no I'll fix it. It doesnt kill me to fix it, I just think listening is not the way the younger people communicate. If I had texted her my order maybe it would have worked. Maybe starbucks can pay a little extra hourly wage & get people who can listen & fill order... Worst customer service ever! Although Dixie tried to be nice at the window, she was the most unprofessional and rude order taker I've ever experienced. Meanwhile the other two that were working were laughing and complaining about how many customers were pulling into the drive-through and the parking lot. There should be a manager monitoring this location on a regular basis because I've had bad service there before but nothing ever as bad as I just experienced. Dixie said the word yeah when taking my order and it when I asked if she had a blueberry muffins available she said why why I didn't hear what you just said. Very convenient location at the edge of downtown Hillsboro. Friendly folks and they still have all the offerings of the full size stores. They even have wifi on the outdoor patio. One note- no indoor seating. read more

There are two Starbucks on the way to work and I usually go to this one because the other one doesn't have a drive thru. I asked for a caramel macchiato with a little extra caramel and they dumped the whole bottle. There is half an inch of caramel on the bottom and you can't see through the thick caramel walls. You can't even tell it's a macchiato. It's not even drinkable. Very disappointing. I wish the drive thru person had told the batista I only wanted a little extra and not to pour the whole bottle. $4.65 wasted. read more

I never go to this location but because it was the nearest Starbucks and needed my caramel macchiato, I decided to visit. If I could, I would give this place 1 star but because my coffee tasted just fine, I'll give it 2 stars. After leaving the location, I realized that my cup looked a little small to be a grande. I thought, maybe I did order a tall (small), however, I was certain that I ordered a grande (medium) for sure. I looked at my debit card statements and sure enough, I paid $4.45 and was undeniably sure that a grande did NOT cost $4.45. I looked at the menu prices for this location and sure enough, I paid for a VENTI (large) just to get a small order of a caramel macchiato... Unbelievable. Never going to this place again. read more

I work at a place where there will be multiple coffee runs. I was told that this place will just do your drink and not pay much attention to the detailed order. I ordered 4 drinks, 2 of which was suppose to be extra hot. That didn't happen! I really tried to be optimistic about this place. However, it's happened quite a few times; drinks are lukewarm, order was not made as specified (a huge disappointment) and service overall was very passive not so welcoming but rather rushed. read more

I am a frequent customer at this location and usually never have problems. I was on my way to work when I decided to grab a smores frapp. I order with soy and this time asked for only whip on the top. I received the beverage, but it had no chocolate inside. The person at the window offered to put some on top, but I was running late, so I decided against it and went on my way. As I got to work I took my first sip. It just didn't taste right. Something was different. I usually order this beverage 3 times a month or so as it's my favorite frapp. Not a huge deal, but not what I paid for. So I called and I expressed my concern with the frapp and the response I received was not what I expected. I was told the only way to fix this is to bring in the frapp to have it replaced. The problem was, I was at work and could not justify being late to work over a coffee being incorrect. I asked if she really wanted me to bring in a melted gross frapp to fix the one that was not right and that I won't be able to do that until tomorrow, and she said "Yep, that's how we do it here". I know very well that's not how problems are handled with Starbucks. I have had about 2 problems with my Starbucks drinks in the roughly 15 years I've been going there. She started using a tone with me that reminded me of someone who has to be nice because they're at their job, but it was not nice at all. It was incredibly fake. So, I asked to speak to their supervisor, and I was horrified to find out that she WAS the supervisor working at that time. Her name is Ryan. I'm also in management and would not have grown to be the manager that I am now if I spoke to guests that way. She was acting as if I was lying. read more

I visit this store several times a week. I love Cappicino and I feel that they need to retrain their Barista's on how to make this drink. When I order a Cappicino they are as wet a Latte. Serveral times I have asked them to remake the drink it was such an inconvenience so much so that one of the female Barista stuck her head out window with snarky remark that next time I order a Cappicino to order it Cappicino extra dry. I watched her make the first one and she frothed the milk and poured it in instead of spooning the froth milk on top of the drink. Any body who knows how a Cappicino is made knows it is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk and 1/3 froth for more of an espresso taste. Also Starbucks policy is that they will remake you drink if you are not happy with the first. Anyway I thought okay next time I will order it dry and again it came out pretty wet. I feel like I should not have spicify it wet or dry when I just want a regular Cappicino. It is very frustrating because I like Starbucks and this it the most convenient store on my route to work.
