There were no other customers in the shop when I arrived. It took over 20 minutes for me to get my order- halfway through that wait time, I checked in with the barista making food around the status of my sandwiches and his frustrated response was "oh. I was not made aware of the second sandwich." And then disappeared into the back room, clearly upset. Finally after getting all of the food.. tried my drink on the road and the espresso shots were clearly off, plus they forgot to add the syrup into one of the drinks. TLDR: Service was lax, Coffee was not great, 2 breakfast sandwiches "to go" took 20 minutes. Sandwiches did taste good, so leaving two stars instead of one.

My husband had the eggs Benedict and it was OK. I ordered the West Coast Hash and eggs and it wasn't OK. My over medium eggs were microwave rubber. Moved like silly putty. The hash was 99% potatoes and microscopic squares of ham and chopped dried bacon. The meal was very unpleasant. The best part of the hash were the diced jalapeños. This place is a one and done for me.

I an a US Navy brownwater sailor. We drink coffee that tastes like coffee. No additives. None. Not even cream or (gasp) sugar. So when I told the barista [HA! The person who pours coffee into a cup] that i wanted a cup of coffee black I got this sort of deer in the headlights look. What? ...I'm sure she was thinking... no Madagascar cinnamon? no foaming goop? no stale crouton crumbs? no pumpkin pie spice? Ummmm seriously? People want their coffee to taste like pumpkin? Yikes. No Miss... just a cuppa Joe. Just like my first heart throb, Anna Mae Bullock....strong and black. And I have to say, insomnia delivered. Not a bad cup of coffee at all. Although I didn't really want to hang out there since it appeared that I had zero in common with anyone I saw there... hogging the comfortable looking chairs. So I had it in a paper cup, to go. Now I have a "thing" about drinking coffee from a large, ceramic mug.... I loathe tasting paper in my coffee and yes I can tell it's in a paper cup even blindfolded. but I digress. They did have a whole display area of decadent looking pastries and not the tiny, overpriced, bogus looking stuff you see at Starbucks. Not that i would ever go into a Starbucks even to use the rest room. They had several pies that made my mouth water and some gooey breakfast glazed things that would have seriously spiked my glucose. so I reluctantly passed. Perhaps next time :)

I left a vm & was called back swiftly. My husband and I arrived on his birthday after a nice aesthetically pleasing drive. We were met at the door by a lovely woman and our pie. That day entailed an outing for lunch & a trip to the beach along with dinner, but we finally arrived home to try the pie. First, I rarely eat sweets, but in memory of my dad who loved pecan pie, & in celebration of my husband's special day, I had to try just a little. The pecan pie was hands down the best I've ever had. The crust was delightful, the balance of sweetness was perfect, and I loved that the pecans were chopped and caramelized. My husband absolutely loved it! We will absolutely be ordering from this gem again!
