I love Starbucks that are inside of Targets and Safeways. For some reason they always have better merchandise than the stand alone stores. I like to collect their cups, so I'm always looking around at the different Starbucks locations. Since the Starbucks inside Targets and Safeways are franchised out, they don't give bonus stars. However, you're allowed to redeem your stars. I've redeemed for many cups. They serve all the standard offerings as all the other Starbucks. This location is in Target on their second level. It took some effort because there was a crowd waiting for the store to open and get the newly released cup! It was an educational experience! The employees were so patient and efficient with the shoppers... It was amazing! If you want Limited Edition Hawaii merchandise, you might want to check this Starbucks out. It certainly does go hand in hand as it has so many similarities...both has a convenient app (though mobile order isn't available) both earn point for purchases, both gives promotional discount (be sure to check your Target Circle for promotional discount deals) along with amazing and helpful staff your experience is just a sip of freshness. This Ala Moana Center location is on the first floor right along the escalators with a few seating including one of my favorite area right at the window overlooking Kapiolani and Keeaumoku just like our local version of Shibuya crossing. Nice and clean just so happy this location has re-opened it's seating area as this corner is a great oasis tucked away to rest, chill or get some work done. Excellent Customer Service!! I have never had a bad experience with the team at the Starbucks in Target (Ala Moana); doesn't matter the time of day or how busy it is.. the teams are consistent. Today I let the cashier pick my drink- I just wanted it iced, and got a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese is my favorite sandwich but I won't go into much detail about it.. just cheesy goodness and a nice crusty, buttery bread. OMG, the drink... my iced white chocolate mocha was perfectly made- sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth but not overly sweet.. the coffee was also nice and strong. I had my 2 year old and she told her thank you Aunty when she got her cake pop and still no smile. She got my order wrong. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato stirred with an extra shot and soy. Had to let the other lady that was making my drink to make sure it's soy since I'm lactose and it wasn't on my receipt that she had put soy. I was glad to come across this Starbucks in Target as I was tired from shopping and needed a break. It's a great idea to have one in the store. I tried the new golden ginger drink. The barista was friendly and helpful in telling me about the ingredients and suggesting something to accompany it. She told me it had a lot of turmeric in it. It is blended with pineapple and coconut milk with ice. It was refreshing but I didn't taste the ginger. In fact no single flavor was distinguishable. I have other ginger and turmeric drinks that I like. This was just different. I might try it again at another time but it didn't overwhelm me. The area where the target is located has some tables and chairs and a window that makes it light in the area during the day. The chairs aren't very comfortable and the floor was dirty. The service at the counter is very good, the drink was ready quickly and I appreciated the location within Target. read more

Honestly....do we REALLY need another Starbucks Café at Ala Moana Center?? The answer is obviously "YES"! We were at AMC's new Target when my caffeine monster roared and went on an attack after a workout at a nearby gym. We wandered into the newly opened Target at Ala Moana Center enroute to our vehicle to get our fix. We were greeted by friendly baristas and found this space to be clean, bright and organized. I thought this café was just a concession within the store and wouldn't accept my Starbucks rewards or payment through my Starbucks card. But, I was wrong and I'm surely appreciative that they did. It was after 2PM so we indulged on the current Holiday BOGO Special (Nov 9-13, 2-5PM). We ordered a Venti Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino and got a Venti Caramel Brûlée Frappuccino as our second choice. The barista made our drinks with flair and the flavors were on point. Though the seating isn't all that comfortable (metal chairs), there is plenty to be shared in this bright open space. We visited this Starbucks in Target on their first day back from being closed due to the coronavirus. We waited on the mall side for the doors to open at 8am. Bad choice, because they opened the parking and street side doors before finally opening our doors..... Reason we wanted to get in fast was to get in line at Starbucks to hopefully get those most sought after "color-changing reusable cold cups" that has been popping up on social media. Yep, we get our supply alittle later than the mainland, but we do get them eventually. So we're almost the last in line, hoping they don't run out by the time we get there. Success!! They are limiting the color changing cups ($18.95, and increase from last year) to 2, and the color changing reusable cold cup ($4.00) to 4. Had just enough on my card to get my new fav drink Match Green Tea Crème Frappuccino with almond milk! Service was great, they were fast, friendly and was able to clear the line in less than an hour! I was walking around Target and checking out this location being that it was my first time... I noticed to my surprise that Starbucks was located in a weird area in the store by the escalators going down to the first floor... I noticed no long line so I figured I'd stop by. But... Seriously the slowest Starbucks I've been to by far... I mean there were only 2 people in front of me and it took almost 15 minutes to finally order my drink. When I got to the register I asked the girl for the 2 Cake pop deal for $3 because the guy before me ordered it with the other cashier. To my surprise she said that the sign that I seen was incorrect because they have no scanner button to scan that code to do 2 for $3... like really?! So I had given her the weird look and then she finally said that she would ask a manager... At this point I was a little irritated being that I was waiting for a while already... she finally was able to get me what I wanted to order and then placed an order for my drinks as well... Finally was able to get my first drink not realizing that my other drink that I was waiting for was given to the customer after... So I had to wait yet again... Been coming here for a long time and they have improved to 5 stars! Kat and other baristas are very friendly, helpful, cheerful and efficient. They open until 11pm which is great and they keep a clean restaurant and restroom. Absolutely NO complaints, only KUDOS! Coffee tastes excellent as usual too BTW and free refills when using my prepaid SBUX card gives me EVERYTHING I want in a SBUX. I hate to give only 2 stars but there's so much room for improvement here. I know this Starbucks is brand new, located within the new Target at Ala Moana Center. It is independently owned and now a part of the "real" Starbucks-owned franchise. On my lunch break, I decided I needed a major caffeine refresher while shopping in the new Target. Yay! Starbucks, I said. Nooooo I found out. Poor guy...there was ONE person working the entire Starbucks bar that day. So not only did he have to take all the orders of the ever-growing line, but he had to make everyone's drinks as well. This poor kid had his work cut out for him. HE, and only he, deserves 5 stars because he worked his little booty off and never seemed to complain. I was there waiting for quite awhile because, well, only one employee. I ordered (or tried to) mocha coconut frappuccino, my usual. I was quickly informed that because they are independently contracted, they did not have mocha syrup. At all. So basically 75% of their menu was not available due to one ingredient. So I had to settle for a coffee frappuccino? Never heard of it and it was bland at best. Again, no the kid's fault. The area was nice, there was a "free" charging station where it looked like you "rented" a little locker for your phone and let it charge securely until you return. Fairly spacious, chairs are metal like most Starbucks. Prices are comparable. Like other Target Starbucks, if you pay with your Target RedCard, you get 5% off your order. I chose to pay with my Starbucks card, though. I'm sure this place will work out its kinks as most new businesses do. And when it does, I will return with a new review! read more

DONT GO TO THIS STARBUCKS. I'd recommend going to the other ones in the mall. Even though this Starbucks isn't as busy, maybe there's a reason why - for instance the service and the drinks. I'm giving 1 Star because I did not like my drink or the service. I ordered a Iced Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte and for some odd reason I could taste Peppermint. So, I told the barista and so she dumped the coffee and made a new one (but used the same cup) and it still tasted like peppermint. I didn't like her attitude or the way she handled it, she didn't even say sorry... so I just decided to walk away and try drinking my coffee BUT at half way, I just decided to throw it away. I wasted $5 on a coffee that I did not like. Also, when I asked for a small cup of whip cream, the barista said that "Next time, you need to order it at the register because you'd usually have to pay" BUT when I go to the other Starbucks they don't ever charge me for a cup of whip cream even when I ask for it at the register. I've come here a lot since I work nearby and the workers were always so attentive, barely no line at all (at the most I was waiting for a few mins). Plus this is the only Starbucks you can sometimes use discount on the Target app (cartwheel). Who doesn't like discounts?! They never made mistakes on my drinks and I didn't have to wait for a long time for them like the other Starbucks in the Ala Moana mall. I've been to this location about 4-5 times now and the experience is always the same. They are extremely slow and my drink is never right. They put condensed milk in my husband's white mocha (no white mocha was added) and they forgot a shot of espresso. I tried to order a pumpkin spice cream Frappuccino and I guy at the cashier looked at me like I was talking a different language. I tried to explain it to him but he didn't seem to really understand and was very rude about it. He took soooo long trying to write it on the cup and ring me up. It took me 20 minutes just to get my drink. It wouldn't have been a big deal if he was more friendly and wasn't so rude. The next time I was there, my husband ordered a kids hot chocolate for my 5 year old son and when he picked it up he ask the barista if the drink was at kids temperature (just to make sure). The barista assured him that it was however, my son took a sip and ended up spitting it all out and spilling on his shirt. My husband asked him what happened and he said that it was too hot. My husband tasted the drink and it was definitely way too hot. We order this for my son all the time and this is the first time we had this issue as Starbucks has a standard temperature for kids hot drinks. I would normally brush it off and say that they are new and just needed to get in the hang of things but each time nothing seems to go right and I have to wait a long time. I'm a loyal target customer who lives in town so you can imagine how excited I was that they opened a location in Ala Moana. I'm at this Target all the time and my experiences at this Starbucks has left me very disappointed.
