I stopped at this Starbucks on the way out of Methodist Hospital and on my way to my downtown office. Located on Capitol Avenue, this is the only Starbucks I've seen in Indy that has a two-sided drive-thru though I'll also note that only one side was open when I visited. This Starbucks has a fairly contemporary design. The parking lot is fairly narrow, a bit too narrow for my liking, but has all the appropriate accessible parking and also has a couple spots for 5-minute pick-up orders. I did not use the inside - so, I can't speak to that. As is noted in just about every review, you can expect a lengthy line at this location. However, the line moved pretty quickly and the employees here are super friendly. I was honestly surprised at the hospitality. It definitely made me want to return. I actually liked that there was a poster of sorts indicating specific recommendations from this location. It was located on the menu. In fact, I ended up deviating from my original plan and going with a Venti Iced Shaken Espresso. It was sublime. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. I always like that they ask if I want it warmed up. I used a gift card to pay (I do wish they'd indicated how much I had left on the card, but that's a minor quibble). The sight line pulling out onto Capitol is pretty good here. With the IU/Methodist expansion going on right now, this will soon be a fairly easy walk or drive from the IU Health campus. Considering the abysmal options around Methodist, I expect business to pick up even more. Among the Indy Starbucks locations, I have to say this was one of my favorites other than the narrow parking lot that made me a bit nervous. I'm pretty sure I'll return after my Methodist trips (and sadly there will be more). There's nothing better for my morale after a medical procedure than a friendly face and some good old-fashioned hospitality. This is legitimately my favorite Starbucks I go every Wednesday and Thursday and there has never been a time that I've had bad service. Whether I walk in or the drive thru I have never had bad service. This I appreciate because as a working Mom that pit stop is everything and even when they had construction they were so accommodating. Always clean and always kind and there are always a lot of people eating, studying or working. Another thing I appreciate is the fact that they always have lemon loaf! Thankfully the new location has included a faster turn around on orders. The previous location had some issues with speed and accuracy (especially in the drive thru) so I'm very excited that my first several trips here have been so good! Of course if you already like Starbucks, the product quality is great. Prices are the same (too high lol) but this larger - more beautiful store- is amazing. Tons of parking (including a few free spots on the street), a double drive thru & lots of indoor seating (with lots of wall outlets). But the BEST part? Tons of outdoor seating! (And who in their right mind would open a business now without great outdoor seating?) I love all the options, mostly shaded, spaced out and a variety of options. This newly remodeled Starbucks is great! They offer all of the staples that every other Starbucks does along with awesome, plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. The have a large parking lot and free street parking nearby and it is open both early and late for anyone looking to get studying or work done. I have been twice and never struggled to find somewhere to sit. The days that I have gone were rainy but I am looking forward to returning to sit in their enclosed, patio. They also have outdoor tables that are covered by an overhang which will be perfect for the hot or rainy days. My daughter requested a Starbucks cake pop for her A-B Honor Roll reward! I was delighted she wanted something from Starbucks and found out that's what her peers talk about at school. And I've been teaching her about hospitality, customer service and how using your manners in the real world works. So, I strategically treated her to this Starbucks location due to the convenience of this location and their known customer service. Starbucks has the perfect concept that models all 3 things I've been focusing on with her. I even purchased her a Starbucks gift card for her to use whenever she wants and to gain her own experience. During our first visit together the cashier was beyond awesome and helpful. She even recognized I was allowing my daughter to use her gift card and order. But after that the full experience was ruined by the dull and rude baristas who lacked a sense of awareness, personality or follow through with orders. Had it been super busy I would understand. I even understood there was a lack of communication because the cashier didn't get a name for the order so I gave her the name, so that it could be called. They still didnt call a name with the order. They just call out the drink order and I assisted the first time. My daughter learned she didn't like what she chose and the cashier was happy to order something else for her. Mind you there was not alot of foot traffic, at the time. This time, they literally ignored customers including my daughter as she waited at the counter after hearing her name for her order. There were a few drinks on the counter so as a customer how would you know which drink was your order without touching each drink to check for your name? Had she picked up the wrong drink who's fault would it have been? She waited patiently for assistance as I would and as she's been coached and I watched from a distance. They saw her standing there and didn't care to ask if she needed assistance or care to get the drinks to the drinks to the correct customer. In all my years of working in the food industry and customer service, having awareness of all customers who approach the counter is essential and dealing with children who maybe giving their parents a helping hand has always been the easiest to assist with. Its always a pleasure and delightful to see children learning there way around the world. And to think we normally document both of our experiences and post on social media, as well. This visit would've been a horrible look on video or maybe they would've given us better treatment knowing they were being recorded on camera. Regardless, the staff needs to do better no matter the age or color of the customer...everyone's money is green. This Starbucks is located right next to my apartment. It's brand-new, and the building is beautiful. Although, the reason why my rating is so low is because the staff that I've encountered is pretty bad. I just left there shaking because I had to stand up for myself after an employee was super rude to me. What had happened was, I was sitting in the store drinking my coffee and reading. After my coffee was finished, I wanted to get a refill, because they are free for basic coffees, and teas, if u are a gold member. I just wanted a refill of my iced coffee with milk, so I went up to the cashier and asked politely for a refill of the same drink. She did not ask me for verification of my gold status, but said that I needed to pay $.55 for the refill. I was confused by that, because I knew the policy of the free refills, but I didn't want to be rude for I know that policies change a lot especially with Covid. I asked politely is this a new thing? She smirked at me and said no. It's hard to describe how this was said, but it was almost as if she was laughing at me. I don't know why. I said I didn't want to pay $.55 so I guess I'll just go without it and exited the store. I sat in my car and called corporate to make sure that this was a new policy, and they confirmed that it was not a new policy and that I should've received my free refill. So, because that employee was rude to me, I walked back into the store looked directly at who i believed the manager to be, and explained the situation. Before I had finished, the manager interrupted me to explain how to receive the free refill. I,already know that, but the employee didn't and also didn't make that an option for me. So I explained that to the manager and even turned to the employee and explained how she made me feel, and that she was being really rude to me. Both the manager and employee just stared at me, did not apologize, and my coffee refill was still messed up when I left. I've been there three times and the time before this horrible experience , i also had a weird situation where I waited 30 minutes inside the store for a coffee that someone accidentally took and the staff saw me standing there by the counter there for 30 minutes with an empty drive-through and lobby and never asked me why I was still sitting there without a drink. I had to go up and ask where my coffee was and then they said oh someone must've taken it. A lot of the staff needs more training in customer service. I came here September 7 around 7AM through the drive thru I usually don't have problems because i come here before work and it's quite speedy. But the customer service was horrible!!! The guy had a high pitched voice, i think glasses or not i'm not sure i was too scared to make eye contact and he was the one who took my order and was at the register at the drive thru also. I'm only describing him because his attitude was unacceptable and ruined my morning someone needs to teach him how to have manners. They have their own parking lot and drive-thru, which is great for meb because if I'm in a need for PAID for coffee, more than likely I'm not in a mood to deal with people. So happy that there was a great Starbucks drive-thru to hit when I was on my way to try the delicious Shapiro's Deli. The Circle Tour lady got a big Starbucks drink as part of her tip; I finally got a nice strong cup of java, as opposed to the muddy water that passes for coffee at some hotels. This was an expansive Starbucks and not cramped at all. A decent parking lot and generous interior. I am so used to that terrible confining feeling that most California Starbucks suffer from. Not here. Nice friendly employees also. However, 1 YELP STAR deducted for a very nasty bathroom experience. One thing you can generally count on, in addition to the fabulous coffee, is a decent potty. So surprised to see that this bathroom here was in a total state of disaster: over-flowing trash, paper towels scattered all over the floor, and NO toilet paper at all. But that's what seat covers are for in emergencies. I pointed this out nicely to the barista when I got a refill and he promptly mentioned it to the manager so I'm sure the bad bathroom was attended to. But Starbucks needs to realize a good clean bathroom is a symbol of how the brand is perceived in addition to their high end coffee and convenient drive-thru's. It should not take some out-of-state tourist like me to point out the TP is gone and the trash cans are full in the Starbucks throne room. read more

You can always expect a wait if you're planning to come through the drive-thru here. They almost always have a line in the drive-thru lane. So be forewarned. That said, the staff here has always been friendly and chatty (as they can be while still working). The parking lot and interior fills up quickly most days if you're planning to camp out for a bit. I don't what it is about this Starbucks - location, drive-thru or what, but it is always jumping! I went on a Wednesday at 7 pm, and a few days later on Saturday at 11:30 am, and both times the drive-thru line was long, the line in-store was long, and almost all of the seats were filled. On both trips the line moved quickly, and I was greeted with the wonderful trademark customer service that is expected from Starbucks. This location is consistently efficient. They seem to be one of the busiest stores in the city in that they get a lot of downtown morning traffic and lunch time, too. Always fast, friendly, and accurate. I work near here, so I come through the drive-thru before or after work, or on breaks, and they get you through quickly.
