Not alot of a frills but they get the job done. They have non dairy creamer options and turkey meat options so that always bumps you up on my list. They have hot and cold coffees, a croissant option, a English muffin option and some sweet treats as well. I got a regular brew coffee with a splash of oatmilk- glad they had that option. Was going to try a turkey English muffin sandwich but was advised the sandwiches are pre-made, they could take the cheese off but I just didn't want there to be any dairy on it so I just stuck with my coffee. The cashier/ server was very nice, professional and helpful, even offering suggestions since this was my first time. It was quick service, no hassel. Coffee was good, not bitter. Price was a little high, but probably not as much as the ....Bucks. I honestly haven't bought coffee in a long time as I'm used to making my own... So if yall ever want to add New Orleans blend (coffee and and Chickory) that would be a plus. Why not yall have Mexican and Americano... We drove into the Human Bean on Pendleton Pike. We had never been there before. The first drive though is closed because of the building had been a rally before and they were not set up to have two window drive up. We drove up the other side were the receipe boards were but did not see a microphone to order. They told us there was one out there, but it was kind of weird. We placed our order at the window. My husband got a mocha, and I got a Mexican mocha both were good and not real sweet. $5.50 each, not too bad. Will I go back, I doubt it, the store itself looked messy and mis kept, It may have been clean but I wondered. The drinks had to be made twice because the barista messed them up at first. The staff was friendly and willing to help. Maybe we started the folly by not entering our order outside at any rate, it is good enough, just not great. read more

I attended mini baristas which this location is holding on Wednesdays from 9-11am during the summer. The kids get an apron with their name on it and a pin each week they come. They also get $1 off their drink with their apron for next time! The coffee was sooo yummy. My daughter did a strawberry banana smoothie and drank the whole thing! I love that they do blended drinks and more drinks than just coffee. In the summer they are my favorite! I did the Mexican mocha and so did my friends that joined too. Such a fun little activity! They checked on a us a few times while we were there which I didn't expect since it's a coffee shop and their tables are outside and it's a small shop with no inside. We will definetly be back for more of this and the coffee! read more

I used to be obsessed with this place--especially since it's so close to home--but lately, it's really been missing the mark. The last few times I've gone, my lattes have tasted more like flavored water than an actual latte. Today was particularly disappointing. I went specifically to use a free drink reward in the app, but after my drink was made, they told me their system was down and the reward couldn't be applied. I was annoyed and in a rush, so I just paid for it. Big mistake--it was terrible. Honestly, I doubt I'll even go back to redeem the free drink, since I can barely get through this one. It's a shame because my first few visits were great, and I had really high hopes for this place. The staff is always kind, but at this point, it just doesn't feel worth it when there are other local coffee shops nearby in the surrounding area. read more

While I won't say I'm an everyday customer of The Human Bean, a now 2-location coffee drive-thru joint in Indy with spots on North Keystone and Pendleton Pike, I will say I'm a fan of their product variety, timely service, and friendly folks. I will admit I give a slight nod to the Keystone location, though having now tried this spot a couple times I'm definitely not a naysayer here. The Human Bean started in 1998 in Oregon. They've now got hundreds of spots either open or in development across the United States. While that other behemoth coffee organization isn't one I hate on, the truth is whereas that company's "human" element feels manufactured it feels a little more honest here. It's difficult to develop a real human connection at a drive-thru, however, pretty consistently these folks tend to do it. What works here? I like the drive-thru design better than Keystone. It's simple at both spots (I believe both locations are former Rally's locations). This location seems to use the space better and it's just more appealing. I love the building design - it's warm, welcoming, and spirited. I love the touch with getting a "bean" on top of your drink. It's corny but in a good way. The menu, I believe, is pretty consistent. They have coffees/teas, energy drink options, frozen favorites, and other items. For food items, there are the usual breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bagels, egg bites, and cake pops along with some other items. Everything gets served up pretty timely. I do wish the menu better displayed pricing (this is true at both locations - I tend to take longer because I almost always have questions). I love the energy drink options. The Human Bean has a terrific app that seems to reward pretty regularly (plus birthdays). My only issue with the app is it tends to sign you out pretty regularly. I'm all into safety, but it's amazing how often I've gone there to get a reward or use my app to find I've been signed out. The employees I've had here are super friendly. I will give some deference to other reviews noting some inconsistency with taste. I don't know if that's a training issue, but i've noticed it. That said, it's not a huge issue for me - it is one reason I appreciate the more consistent Keystone location. That said, I'm still a fan here and while I'm not on Pendleton Pike as often as I used to be this tends to be a place I visit when I am over here. Fair pricing. Good and sometimes great drinks. Terrific employees. An often needed human connection for someone who lives alone and has no family. I love places that take seriously the idea of human connection and that's definitely true here. This location has not been very impressionable. The wait for coffee on a couple of my visits has taken me longer than my wait for my meal at Culver's. It's new so I wanted to give grace but after 5 visits...the quality of this coffee doesn't keep me from going across the street to Starbucks. read more

Been here three times since the opened and never have had a positive experience first visit the did not put wipcream on top the drink so I had to ask for it to be made correctly to wich the girl replied it didn't come with whipping cream so I opened the app and read her the listed ingredients. First, I love the name of this place since it's a twist on human being and nothing makes me feel more human than coffee! I only used the drive-through, but this little coffee shop is adorable. The service was wonderful. I had a lot of questions since I had never been to one of these shops before, but it is a chain. You could sit outside or go inside as well. There are many menu options for coffee drinks, drinks, without coffee, food, and they even have a children's menu which is a lovely touch. The food sounded great and I expect I will be trying one of their sandwiches in the future if I need a quick lunch. I ordered a Pool Side energy drink over ice, but you can get it blended. This flavor is blue raspberry and coconut. I thought it sounded like a strange combination, but it sounded compelling. I like both of those flavors and it was a very hot day and I wished I was poolside, so there you go. It was delicious! Very refreshing! I appreciated that my drink had a sipping cap so I didn't have to take a straw which I try to avoid. There were a lot of other flavors of energy drinks that sounded yummy as well and I expect that I will be trying them. I first came upon the business driving by, but I'm not often in the area where this location is. However, I was using Yelp to find out where I could get a coffee granita and this business popped up. The granitas they offer are basically frappès, which is not what I was looking for, but I did like the variety of drinks and food on the menu. I happened to be in the area the same day and decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad I did and I will be back! I really loved the little espresso bean candy that came on the top of my drink as well. It was a very cute touch. The server told me that the energy drinks are half price for a while this summer which also made me happy. The half price energy drinks are offered until Monday, 7/7, from 12pm to Close.
