Well damn, I love this starbucks. I love sitting outside with my drink, watching rich folks walking their nice dogs and fantasizing about living here. Inside is pretty spacious and nice too! And I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with the service here. Can't say the same for the Spectrum location where the "baristas" have to finish up their conversation, no matter how long it takes, before taking your order. Anyways, both Starbuckses (what is the plural of Starbucks anyways??) are about equal distance to where I work so I frequent this place. I normally don't enjoy hanging out at Starbucks, but this place is the exception. I've come here a few times for meetings since it's a central location and I don't know what it is...but I love the layout. Hidden inside the entrance of an apartment complex...this Starbucks is spacious. I feel like I'm walking into a large living room and then I see the counter. The staff is super friendly, helpful with orders, and also gave me a tall glass of ice water (without even asking) while I waited for large group to show up for a meeting. All the seats were taken, and they said that I was free to pull a few desks and chairs together. There is a large wooden desk (sits 5-7 people), a few small tables (sits 2 - 4 people), and in the center, there are a few couches....i like the layout. I live in the community so it's convenient.. Sometimes we come for a quick breakfast or my kids like an early evening snack... They are almost always busy and the orders are pushed through quickly... There is good seating inside and outside.. I love where I live so it helps with the view.. Service is always friendly.. For a Starbucks, this place really delivers. I usually don't go to Starbucks anymore because I feel like the coffee is too strong or burnt, but I had a gold member discount so I decided to drop in and study somewhere new. I tried the new butterscotch latte with half syrup and I was pleasantly surprised that the espresso wasn't burnt and it wasn't sickeningly sweet either. The place is pretty large yet organized so that it feels cozy without people sitting on top of each other. There are a lot of tables with outlets for studying as well as comfy couch chairs for reading and relaxing, and on a weekday late afternoon, it seemed to have plenty of seats so I didn't have to fight for a spot. I found a 1-hour parking spot quite easily, but was sad because I wanted to spend some time studying. Apparently there is underground 24 hour guest parking in the parking garage, which I have not been adventurous enough to find, but hopefully next time. The customer service was above and beyond any Starbucks I've ever been to. The girl working the cashier was so patient when my coupon code didn't work, and put a lot of effort into getting me a discount. This was unexpected because most others would probably just say sorry and then move on. UPDATE: I went back on a Saturday afternoon and I think I was lucky enough to immediately find 24 hour visitor parking in the parking garage. I understand they try to limit visitors so the Starbucks can be used by the wealthy apartment inhabitants (what kind of bougie apartment complex has their own shopping courtyard and coffee shop) and honestly if I lived here I'd be mad at people like me who take up valuable Starbucks space for hours. BUT if you're like me and want to pretend you can afford these types of amenities, go ahead and search for that visitor spot and get buried in your work! It's much less stressful than parking in 1 hour and worrying about getting ticketed. read more

Don't come here that much but when I am at my boyfriend's place it's a convenient location. Never super busy so the lines are short and the service is always fast. I'm at a Starbucks most days and this is one of the fastest locations in terms of ordering and getting my drink. I would typically never leave a review for Starbucks but the employee attitude is so absurdly friendly I felt compelled to leave a review. I work in the corporate tower next to this Starbucks and every single time I come in (twice today) I have been greeted with smiles and hellos and a very cheery happy attitude. It's tucked away inside of The Village (no, not the misguided M. Night horror movie) but one of the Irvine apartment communities near the Spectrum. This location definitely has lots of room to hang out and relax but with lots of college students there are times when you won't find a spot, mostly early evening. Outdoor seating is the best that I've seen at any location because you're not sitting on the sidewalk of a suburban mall and/or on a busy street. The area is very relaxed and secluded from the street with a very 'neighborhood' feel to it with very comfortable outdoor chairs. You'll love just hanging out outside while chatting with friends, people watching, web surfing or just reading a book. There are lots of tables and outlets if you want to plug in your portables; some locations have been very limited but not this one. Expect a wait during peak times but they are typically very fast so it won't be for long. I've always had good service and coffee with a generally friendly staff. The only drawback to this location has been the cleanliness of the bathroom; the men's bathroom is usually pretty trashed w/ towels overflowing from the trashcans. Most often the room is pretty filthy in other aspects as well. I've even seen this early in the morning so they aren't cleaning at night before closing. This hasn't been an issue keeping me from going to this location but explains why I gave this location 4 stars. I would recommend this location over any that I've been to so far in the area. read more

I've never liked Sbucks coffee, it always taste burnt to me. Well, stopped by today to hang out and got the mildest roast coffee they have - the blond roast. This roast is the only roast I think I can drink at Sbucks, after putting in an inch of cream. The couchy chairs are very comfy, plenty of outlet plugs. But I don't like the vibe so much, too citified. The music, although nice, is too loud and interfering. The outside tables are much better feel. They say no smoking in or outside the cafe, but outside were a couple who smoked, and it was very off putting. read more

Most Starbucks have a fair number of seats. But this location not only has ample seating, it's got a variety of lounge, individual tables, tables for 4, a leather couch, and four leather club chairs! This is a great location because it's convenient me right now from the movie heaters and also my office . The wifi always works very well and then expert easy there's only 2 outlets what time you need. I highly recommend them building more seating outside maybe even a very nice covered area with lots of outlets. This is a prime location and a lot of times the line is going right out the door. They could use another one on the other side of the Irvine Spectrum. The staff here is always very nice upbeat laughing having fun and also getting your drinks out pretty dang fast. With Starbucks on every corner, you get your pick of the litter, but I rarely spend my time or money at any other location. The incredibly friendly, and quick service will keep me coming back exclusively to this location. ​ ​The management team here​ ​( ​Mandy​ ​ specifically), run the peak times to perfection. My drink always comes out made exactly how I like it (and I have a complicated order), ​extremely quick, and ​always with a smile​ . ​Brian and Sabrina also stand out as excellent employees, always polite, and they seem to genuinely enjoy their job and team members. ​ A little touch that goes a long way.​ The seating area is always tidy, and feels very well-maintained, which is not something I can say about other locations I have been to.​ ​Coming from the service industry myself, I understand how chaotic, and stressful the busiest times of the day can be, and I am overwhelmingly, and continually impressed with how well this team performs​. This Starbucks is super convenient to me because I live in the building above it, but my girlfriend and I had a pretty piss poor experience with what seemed like a pretty disgruntled employee - I believe his name was John. My girlfriend, granted, is a little bit of a coffee diva and customizes her drinks, but isn't too over the top whatsoever. This guy John gave her some attitude (passive aggressively) and then muttered something rude under his breath as we exited the store. Talk about some terrible customer service! I've stopped in this store from time to time and haven't ever really had any bad experiences, except for this specific instance with John. John, the next time you feel bold enough to say something rude (assuming you're sill employed here) I hope you look us in the eye when you say it. Management needs to train this kid up before his bad attitude spreads! read more

I've given this Starbucks location four tries, as the location is very convenient to my home, and I really wanted to like the place. Sadly, all four visits were a disappointment, and that says a lot as I'm a pretty easy guy to please. The staff are mostly disinterested, or at best distracted, by their conversations among themselves as they largely ignore their customers and duties. The counters are nearly always in need of cleaning, as are the floors and the tables, including the tables outside, which, to be fair, may be the responsibility of the Irvine Company (land owner), yet, which I would think the Starbucks management might take an interest in keeping clean, given the large numbers of their customers who use this area. Today, the staff were so busy talking among themselves about how good they are (I kid you not), that they didn't bother to greet, smile, take names or even announce the beverages when they were ready and placed upon the counter. Add to that the terrible condition of the drink counter, which was a clutter of rubbish; including crumpled straw wrappers, used napkins, and several coffee stains of various colors and states of drying. There was even one very old and apparently unclaimed tall size frappachino drink there which appeared long forgotten, with flat foam, and an appearance of neglect which caused me to imagine it had been sitting on the counter, unclaimed for several hours. Sadly though, I was becoming used to this sight, as this particular Starbucks always seems about as unkempt as myself on a Sunday morning, when I can't be bothered to shave or even run a comb through my hair. Sorry "The Village" Starbucks...but bedhead just isn't a good look on you. After a few fresh drinks joined the sadly orphaned frat on the grubby counter (again, no announcement of customer name or drink type - the staff were simply too busy laughing and having a good time to bother with that) another guest and I began a brief discussion to try and figure out which drink was ours. We couldn't work it out, so I took a chance to interrupt the barista's conversation to ask if the drink I was pointing at was indeed the grande latte I'd ordered from the disinterested cashier (I didn't say that last bit of course). The young man behind the counter stopped talking to his barista friend, turned to look at me while asking "what??" after which I repeated my question to him. He gave me a flat "yeah" before returning to re-engage his coworker-friend. I looked at the other guest who simply rolled his eyes at me. I then broke in again with the barista chat and suggested "it would help a lot if you guys announced what the drinks are as you placed them on the counter." The first barista then replied, "yeah" and in a loud voice staring me in the eye said "GRANDE EXTRA HOT LATTE" before finishing with "THERE!" I turned and left. Never to return. The only reason I offered two stars here is because the drinks are pretty good, and they do seem to make the extra effort to prepare my latte extra hot. And though I think the young man who was "helping" me today has some growing up to do, and the management here would do well to better manage their facility and staff, I must confess that I did enjoy my grand extra-hot latte, even if it was my last at The Village Starbucks. read more

Parking is super tough, I suggest ubering. Once you get there, it is a nice and quiet atmosphere inside for studying. Lots of tables and leather reading chairs available on Friday afternoon. I live at The Park, the apartments next o the complex called The Village where this Starbucks is located. This is perfectly situated for casual sit downs or quickly grabbing some coffee, a treat or water. Staff has always been friendly and there is plenty of seating between inside and the outside. They have cozy outdoor padded seats and tables to work at but also have some of that inside. You can really hang out at this place and if you live here you can go play pool or actually go to the pool and jacuzzi right after. This particular Starbucks is nestled in a little quarter within this plaza in The Village Apartment complexes right across the street from The Spectrum. Often times I find myself traipsing on over to this Starbucks rather than going to the one within the Spectrum. It's Starbucks... it's everywhere. A coffee and scone is the same regardless wherever you go. So what makes this one so special? Firstly, because it is nestled within this residential area, the majority of people that know about it are the residents, so this place gets a lot of regulars. The hustle and bustle that goes on in this Starbucks seems like a routine, it's rather quaint. Because of this, the staff here is absolutely one of the best. They know their customers and their customers know them, it truly is a unique relationship considering that the other half is this giant corporate entity overcharging one for a cup of joe. I'll have to admit that I am a bit biased in reviewing this because my friend works here. But seriously, he spends more time talking to the customers than to me whenever I visit, and he has their drinks already started once they walk in, it's that awesome. And even if you're not a regular, these people that work here are so cordial and genuine, it's kinda scary. All other Starbucks pales in comparison. The second reason why this place is just awesome is the layout and space. The patio area for one is very spacious. And because it isn't in a typical plaza, it's rather quiet. The buildings around it are reminiscent of the brownstones in NYC. Rather cool. Sometimes I feel like I'm not in Orange County at all. haha ... errrr sometimes. The inside has all these plush armchairs and a sofa. It truly looks like a real coffee house. The majority of people that come here do work, so it's not all chatty or loud. It's an awesome place to get work done or to relax. When I was going to UCI, I'd go out of my way to come here and study rather than study at the Starbucks on campus or down the street.
