This bakery/coffee shop is cozy with good food and inspiring staff. Good because the Sunshine Skillet was bright and delicious. Full of flavor and healthy. It came with pieces of bread and cucumber sticks to scoop the poached eggs and tomato sauce together. No wonder it's called Sunshine Skillet! Inspiring because the people behind the counter were wonderful and welcoming. Interesting conversation too! Will definitely return and will have that honey cake!
Very solid cafe and bakery! I walked in early morning to grab a coffee and a snack and ordered the lavender latte and it was delicious! Their House RAF coffee was something the worker recommend to me but it's made with heavy cream so I went with a less lactose heavy drink, I will try it next time! I ordered a pesto bread, and I will say the bread is super unique and Tasty! You can tell the bread was home made. However I felt that it could use more pesto. I was also recommended their mini pancakes, will need to try that next time!
Warmly welcomed when walking in through the doors. They have a menu on the wall that you can order from at the front. I chose avocado toast, no tomato or lettuce and added a scrambled egg with a hot chai tea latte. I chose to eat in and they delivered it to my table of choice. The latte was super yummy and my toast was good along with the fruit that was substituted for the tomatoes and lettuce :) the place is so cute too! The chairs are comfy too (if that matters to you) I loved them.
Absolutely incredible experience! The RAF latte was a 1000/10. I honestly couldn't believe how good it was. The flavor was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Vanilla Bakery Cafe is one of those places you almost don't want to tell people about. Great coffee, excellent pastries, and the Honey Cake is worth the trip by itself. It's easily the best I've had in Orange County. Moist, light, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. The café has a cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot for a casual coffee date or catching up with someone. Fair prices, friendly service, and consistently good quality. I'll definitely be back.
Hidden gem. I've been twice now, had to come back to try some goodies. I loved the iced oatmilk honey latte (1/2 sweet). Every food item we tried was good as well. The staff is super nice and will take the time to share with you everything that is in their specialties and there are ALOT. It's decorated so cute and it's bigger than it looks from the outside.
This little bakery cafe is located in a semi-hidden corner strip mall (on Lake Forest Drive and Moulton Parkway). It's near my home and I've driven by it countless times over the past few years and never knew it was there until I recently stumbled upon it. I consider it a hidden gem. The interior is cozy and classy with several tables along a corridor and more in a back room. There are a couple of tables just outside the front entrance and also out on a tiny streetside patio. I ordered a caffè mocha and a cinnamon roll from the vast array of options in their pastry case. They had at least a dozen different macarons with unique flavors so I also chose a Snickers macaron. I was invited to seat myself at any table and my order was brought to me. The mocha was one of the best, if not THE best, I've had. The chocolate was deep and silky smooth to the tongue and blended well with the espresso. Temperature-wise it was immediately drinkable. The warmed cinnamon roll was presented with knife and fork and deserves to be admitted into the Cinnamon Roll Hall of Fame as the cinnamon and frosting were in perfect ratio, and the roll itself was so fresh and soft. It was the first time I've ever wanted to hug a pastry. The Snickers macaron was excellent. The chocolate and caramel flavors were there along with a couple of peanuts stuck to the side. The double layer of filling made it a decadent treat yet not overly sweet. I will definitely be back to try some of the other unusual macaron creations. The fellow working here was very friendly and helpful. I felt as if I was being treated as a family member, very warmly. While I was there, some classic 70s music was playing from a stereo console that looked vintage from when combination turntables and radios were actual furniture. If you live in OC or find yourself in the area, you truly must visit.
As much as I enjoyed the pastry and coffee, the food was even better. The eggs were rich and buttery with a generous helping of salmon and avocado. The berries on the waffle were ripe and sweet. The staff let us take our dogs on their back patio area to eat. Walked here from concept3 garage while we waited for an oil change. Great place to go if you have a Japanese car.

A very happy healthy dose of pure happiness and joy right here in the heart of Laguna Hills. Vanilla Street bakery really delivers exceptional quality and amazing service for anyone craving something special from the Homeland of mother Russia with some Ukraine roots and recipes. I so enjoyed myself here today with her delightful espresso rad coffee red cup and three flavors sweet dessert for afternoon coffee. I will definitely come back for the amazing breakfast special once the heatwave is over in California. Hope you can drop on by this beautiful place for your next coffee date. What a cozy cafe! I had such a great first time here. The honey cake is super delicious and a must try. I'm excited to go back and try some of their other honey cake flavors. Also, got the black currant macaron which was very well made. The size of the macaron is pretty large, almost the size of two traditional size macaron. The flavors were really good, the cream in the center was rich and exterior shells were delicate. The interior is spacious and I love the decor. The space is very inviting and a great place to catch up with a friend over some delicious sweets. The staff member at the front was kind and helpful. We asked about his recommendations and he told us his favorite were the black currant desserts (also told us he's slightly biased black currant). I'm looking forward to coming back here with a friend and trying some other pastries. I can tell that they really care about the quality of the ingredients. A lot of places you just taste sugar or some sort of sweetener. With the desserts here, you can really taste the ingredients.

Food was so delicious! The croissant was flaky and perfectly toasted. Just the right amount of salmon. Coffee was sweet and chocolatey (just how I like it!) Macaron was yummy (could use a bit more pistachio flavor but still delightful!). The cream had a very smooth, buttery texture. Service was very quick and people were very kind and helpful. Love their drinks and honey cakes. My favorite drink is the lavender latte. You can adjust its sweetness to your liking. They make their own lavender syrup which tastes divine. The milk they use always tastes fresh, like 'farm fresh' fresh. Every time we come here, we always get slices of their delicious honey cake which has the perfect level of subtle sweetness that I prefer. I'm not big on sweet stuff. I've also tried their Eggs Benedict which tastes better when you have it for dine-in. I wouldn't recommend ordering any of their breakfast items for take-out. Wait time is reasonable for made-to-order food items. Customer service is always outstanding. Every staff member I've encountered was super sweet, friendly, and patient. The shop is small but there are plenty of tables and chairs to sit at inside. Pricey but it's always a nice treat to come here when we're in the area. read more

Iced Raf Coffee (5.90 for a medium): 2/5. This is reportedly their bestseller, but it just wasn't for me. It's super sweet and creamy, with a strong emphasis on creamy. I'd even say it has more milk or cream than coffee. It had a potent infusion of something like vanilla or cardamom that I liked, but I wouldn't get it again. Baklava ($6.50): 5/5. The best item I got from Vanilla Street Bakery. Decently sweet with a lovely balance of nuts, dough layers, and infused syrup. I appreciated that it wasn't dripping in a sugary solution; it's definitely more balanced than other baklava I've had. Chocolate Chip Cookie ($5.20): 2/5. A very pillowy, cakey cookie, yet dry and crumbly. The flaky salt on top was a nice touch, but its overall taste and texture didn't deliver a satisfying chocolate chip cookie. Spinach-feta roll ($6.90): 2/5. Staff kindly warmed this up for me without asking, and it looked nice and savory. However, it was extremely dry, doughy, and bland, with hardly any feta. Too bland to enjoy for $7. Eclair ($7.50): 3/5. Chocolate topping and custard filling were good, but the dough was quite dry. Pricey, too! Staff were patient and knowledgeable. Interior has a quaint, cutesy look to it, with different types of seating available. I saw people catching up with friends, reading, or working, so it has a relaxing atmosphere for whatever you feel like doing. In short: most of the pastries unfortunately were very expensive and not worth the cost based on how dry and/or bland they were. Additionally, the highly anticipated Raf Coffee seemed interesting but ended up being too creamy for a coffee drink. read more

Quiet little bakery nestled in Laguna. Interior is super cozy and intimate, with additional seating in the back and outside patio. Pastry case was filled with a lot of goodies, and plenty of drinks as well. I had some help from the staff to decide what I wanted. Ended up choosing the black currant honey cake, pavlova, and Italian soda (rasberry). Honey cake was a perfect not too sweet, cake cake (for those who don't like a lot of frosting). The black currant has a pop of tart that mellows out more of the sweetness but keeps you coming back for more. Pavlova was airy, creamy, and the rasberry jam was a great sweet/tart flavor. This was my first time trying both of these pastries and I can wait to try more! read more

What a cute little shop! Located in a small plaza, we had a great experience at Vanilla Street Bakery. Service is top notch, really friendly, and personable. Plus, everything we tasted here was great! And they have this cute section for handmade products as well. Plus, there's some store swag like tumblers and whatnot. We tried the Classic Honey Cake, Dubai macaron, Milky Crush, Coconut Chocolate Bite, and a Lavender Latte. I was a little skeptical about the latte, as normally lavender tends to be overwhelming, but this was perfect! Just a hint of their lavender, which they make in house. What a great surprise! Out of the desserts, my favorite was the Milky Crush. So smooth and decadent. But everything else was great as well. The Honey Cake kind of reminds me of a very light cheesecake with graham cracker-flavored layers. I'm not a cheesecake person either, but this was very good. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did! It was my first time visiting, and the experience was wonderful. The barista was super friendly, and I love that it's a family-owned business. I'm truly proud to see a family running such a beautiful and successful spot. I tried the Dubai Macaron, which was absolutely delicious, along with the Vanilla Cheese Foam coffee -- both were incredible! Wow what a gem! Located in a very quiet shopping center with easy parking this bakery has excellent coffee, amazing cakes and pastries as well as plenty of seating. Service is next level as it's a small family owned place that takes great pride in its offerings. Great music too. They also serve breakfast items. I've driven past this cafe literally over a hundred times and never noticed it near the intersection of Moulton and Lake Forest. I only found it this time because I was looking for a nice cafe to kill some time and the Yelp reviews were great. I'm really glad I stopped by. I ordered a coffee and a strawberry shortcake. The coffee was served in an attractive green and white mug and it was really great coffee. I'm not sure how many ounces it was, but the mug was a big one. The shortcake was freshly baked, not overly sweet, with a nice crunch. (There are lots of appetizing freshly baked pastries so deciding on one was difficult.) The owner took my order and served me the coffee/cake and she was warm and friendly. Indeed, the vibe of the cafe was warm and friendly, a very nice place to hang out. This is a cute little place: reminiscent of a small European cafe. As you can see from my pics, it has a very fresh and clean style and look to it. The café tables, see my pics, were perfect for us. As you can see from my display case pics, there were plenty of sweet delights to choose from. For our quick bite on the way out of town, we shared a pair of macarons. High quality baked goods and pastries. Their honey cake and macarons were very good. I know some complain about the price, but the amount of labor and skill required to make these is no joke! I definitely think it's worth it. The macarons are triple the size and thickness compared to what you typically see at a grocery store or chain bakery, and you can tell the ingredients like the pistachios are fresh. I don't know if I'd get the meringue roll again. Not that it was bad but just not my type of dessert I like, but it is gluten free and still a great option if you're looking for gluten free options. read more
