I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews at all. If you look at my history the majority of my reviews are positive, happy ones. Today's experience at this Starbucks location was uniquely uncomfortable however, and I feel sharing it could be helpful. I parked my car outside the store, ordered my drink (Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew) using Mobile Order, and walked right in to pick it up in person. On the front doors I saw a handwritten sign saying orders may take longer than usual due to one of the espresso machines being down. Not a big deal...stuff happens sometimes. I just walked in, peeked at the pickup counter and saw a couple other drinks but not mine, and then spent some time looking at the merchandise near the front counter, and then I sat down in a chair right near the front counter to wait patiently to either hear my name called or see my drink on the pick up counter. I can be content on my phone just like anybody can, but after a while I started to wonder... I checked the time my order was expected to be ready on the app and it said 4:11 PM, but the current time was 4:29 PM. I realize their drive-through line might have a line of cars outside, but inside the store it was very calm. There was hardly anyone that it came in to order in person at the register during the whole time I was sitting there, and there were no more drinks awaiting pickup on the pick up counter. The vibe amongst the customers sitting inside was pretty mellow, and there were a couple of empty tables. It didn't seem like the staff was too busy to make my one cold brew drink. It seemed more like they completely forgot. At this point I had been sitting there in the store for 20 minutes completely quiet not bothering anyone, but actively looking up every now and then to see if my drink was ready, but since this much time has passed, I realized I needed to go up and say something. When I told the cashier my situation, and what kind of drink I was waiting for she walked over towards the pick up counter, picked up an empty cup with a label on it, sitting there, and told me that was for my drink, and told me that their way of doing things was to NOT make the cold brew drinks until people got there and asked for them in person. I've been a Starbucks customer for longer than I care to admit, and I've been a Starbucks mobile app user from almost the very beginning. I understand how the mobile app and in-store pickup works, and I have never had baristas at any other location tell me that they don't make the cold brew mobile order drinks until someone walks in and walks up to ask for them. I have mobile-ordered cold brews maybe 40 separate times and they have always been ready for me to pickup without me needing to ask for it to be made in person. That's a big part of the beauty of using the app and placing a mobile order... Is that if you don't feel like talking in person that day you don't have to. You can just pay and then walk in to pick it up. No apology was offered when I finally had to ask for my drink in person. No acknowledgment that I had waited over 20 minutes at this point... After my drink was finally poured and given to me I didn't complain in person. I just took my drink and quietly left, feeling completely awkward, and totally disregarded. So yes, needless to say this is my first time doing an in-store pick up at this location and I will definitely NOT be back. 0/10 Do NOT recommend. Also, this is why I don't tip in advance. I am a very fair tipper and I prefer to tip in person mostly so that I can make the tip fit the service that day. read more

Rarely I'll leave reviews but ive been going to Starbucks as long as i can remember but hands down this is one of the best. Not only are their coffee tastes consistent but lemme just say that this team look like they LOVE their job. Depsite how busy they can get, despite having difficult customers at times youll always see every single one of them having a big smile on their face! Ooh Fancy, When did this Starbucks open up?! I was happy to see this Starbucks when we turned in to the Marriott Residence Inn, we stayed here for the weekend and I was like Wow!, so perfect for my coffee run. I walked right over, that afternoon to grab me and my other half our coffee fix. This Starbucks Kunehi just opened up last October 2019, talking to the friendly cashier as I told her that I love this Starbucks. So new and organized, the first thing that caught my eyes was the nice huge colorful painting on the wall once you enter, with huge wooden table in front. If I was to hang out here longer with my other half, when we come back again, I would utilize that spot. This Starbucks is also very cozy. When I arrived there wasn't a line, I got my order really quick. I loved looking at the message board and all the different types of gift cards, I think the cards are so cute. This Starbucks also has a drive thru which seems always busy during both days I've visited. I enjoyed our coffee with some sweets in our room while watching the news and Netflix after. I was staying at the Marriott right next door to this location so I stopped by every morning for coffee and breakfast. Most mornings the drive thru line was extremely long so I decided to park and go inside. While inside there was never any other customers and I got my order very quickly. All the staff was very polite and helpful even at 530 in the morning. Proper Covid protocols were being observed and place was very clean. Only downside to this place is the parking situation. It can be very confusing and congested with people coming in and out of Starbucks and the gas station that shares the parking lot. read more

This particular Starbucks has remained open during COVID for drive through. You can order on the app or at the order speaker. As of May 5 they were allowing you to pick up at the door by either ordering through the app or when you get there. They have lines on the sidewalk so you know where to stand, and signs indicating where to order and where to pick up. So it's super convenient, I have been going here and Coffee Bean since they are the closest to where I live. Drinks have been pretty consistent when I order. read more

I was actually in an extremely bad mood before I came to grab my coffee this morning, but when I saw the little smiley face drawn on my cup it actually made me smile for the first time today. That's what I love about this Starbucks, they just take the *little* bit of extra time to make their drinks correctly and even go the extra mile to brighten the days of their customers. Whenever I have to go to Starbucks, I go to this one! Also, if you're looking to glean some helpful information from this review- let me tell you this: If you order ahead on the app, it's much faster to just go physically inside the store and grab your order than it is to be one of those entitled losers sitting in the drive thru who always blocks the parking and just generally doesn't have any awareness outside of their own car (yes, I'm talking about you Karen). read more

To be honest I am not a Starbucks fan at all but one day a drink from Starbucks was given to me ( brown sugar oatmeal shaken espresso) and I found it refreshing that really suits my taste!! It was perfectly made ! And it's addicting!! Kapolei branch is the best location for me!! Woo hoo, 1st to review! Nice and convenient location for Kapolei commuters who are traveling here and there to run errands. Located at the corner of ft Barret and Kapolei parkway near Hookele elementary school/Kapolei high school. What can you say besides it's a brand new Starbucks. Has great layout with surprisingly alot of places to sit down with friends or work on your college paper. WiFi is strong and keep you connected for hours. Came here to get a late around 5pm and I asked them to remake my soy late because it doesn't taste like it and the lazy (she) barista that working this afternoon did not want to remake because she thinks she made it ok even though it doesn't taste like soy late to me. I've been ordering soy late almost every and I know if it's not made correctly but she thinks because it had soy in it that's it's good enough. If you're the manager of this location and your reading this ask the guy with the ponytail on the drive through window about coz your barista that afternoon did not want to remake that coffee. This is one of the newest Starbucks locations on the island, which is specifically in the Kapolei area. It is on Kapolei Parkway nearby Kapolei Loft apartments and the intersection of Fort Barrett Rd. It is also within the new Hele gas station that is right across of it. The Starbucks location is not too big. It has a decent amount of table and seating areas inside the cafe store. The staff and customer service is pretty good. Since it is not too much of a big Starbucks store, I think it is more so good as a commuter style of Starbucks. They also have a drive-thru. I think this is also a pretty good location for the Kapolei area because it is nearby school areas where people can get there coffee/snack fix coming in and out of work. I think I could find myself coming here from time to time to meet up with someone or do some work. read more

I had made a mobile order at the store on Kamokila BLVD just to show up and find out the store was closed that day. I called the store that the sign on the door directed me to and was helped extremely quickly (I was on my way to work and was rushing with the re-route). I actually love the look of this place everything is well done. They seem to cater heavily to drive thru versus in person so I suggest drive thru . I waited a decent amount of time while watching several cars go through. I'm talking at least 5. When i got the drinks, they tasted awful and they were wrong. I reordered and that one tasted like chemicals. I'm thinking it might be a staffing issue though because I can imagine the employee is being overworked. Seemed like a ton of customers for such few people working and i think two or three tag teamed the drive through. I went through the drive through I believe after the third visit, and it was pretty legit. Thanks for the hard work though and look forward to frequenting the location if it improves! read more

Holly dealt with it in the most professional way. She was super sweet and helpful and super apologetic for our wait even though it was not her fault at all. One obviously couldn't handle taking our order a guy cuts her off mid sentence comes on the speaker gives all kinds of shade, then we pull up to the window and get eye rolls.
