It's become a tradition for me to come to this Starbucks every year around daylight savings weekend Sunday. Not sure how it got started but I think one year I forgot to change my clocks and ended up waking up super early. Well I needed a decent cup of joe and somehow I ended up here. The barista and I had a good laugh about it and it has now become a tradition. Every year I come here super early around daylight savings weekend. The store itself is next door to a 2nd+Charles (not sure what happened to the 1st+Charles but must of broken up) There is actually a side door inside this Starbucks that leads to the bookstore itself which great on rainy days or when you're too lazy to walk 10 more steps to your right.... The parking lot here chaotic....because there are two other businesses and the spaces are pretty tight..you really need to pay close attention at all times...people going the wrong way, people backing out too fast, people that take up two parking spots, people, people, people.... read more

Updated: 10/05/2019 [Summary] This is the only Starbucks I frequent. Everyone knows about Starbucks, so I'll keep this review ez breezy and write what stood out to me to the most at this location. I really like this location, and it's one of my favorite work-conductive places [Location] This Starbucks is connected to 2nd & Charles bookstore by the side. If you see the Steak n' Shake, then you can't miss it. Parking here is okay, there's no shades, and people like to drive in the wrong direction or hog the whole road. Just drive slow for your own sake. [Interior & Atmosphere] Very coffee shop like, almost as if they sold coffee here lol. They have huge window panes facing Ernest W. Barrett Parkway and seats by the windows, which is a nice view if you like people watching. They also have blinds in case the sun wants to kill everyone. It's not the most spacious Starbucks, but I often have no issues finding tables here. They also have a few outdoor seats and tables, which is pretty nice to sit outside this time of the year. [Drinks] The baristas here are very consistent with my drinks, and I don't recall having an order messed up here. This is completely opposite of what Starbucks is known for LOLOL. Try getting the Iced Caramel Macchiato (soy milk substitute) or an Iced Vanilla Coffee (1 pump white mocha). I always get these two drinks here. [Service] Overall, the staff here is amazing. 90% of the time I always get a welcome when I walk in. There's this one guy with an insanely deep, radio-host voice and he literally gives the best welcomes. I also know three of them outside of work. I don't write reviews often but I feel it's necessary to for this Starbucks location. I'm not sure if the woman taking my order was the manager but i think she was and she was extremely rude!! Zero customer service and horrible attitude. I came at 6:00 am and I've been twice. Both times she treated me terribly at the register. Trying to serve another customer before me in line when it was obvious I had arrived first. And then this morning was just as bad. I bought a sandwich for my lunch later today and then ordered a breakfast item and a tea. And she proceeds to warm up the lunch sandwich without asking me and says it automatically comes warmed up. (Well it's 6:00 am and I don't want lunch right now)! So I told her i don't want it warmed up now after she's already ripped it open and then she just shoves it in a togo bag unwrapped. Didn't even offer to give me a new one. So incredibly RUDE. I will never come back here. If you want great customer service that Starbucks is known for, this is NOT the place. read more

I like this Starbucks Not all stores are created equal. It's spacious and clean. It's right next to 2nd and Charles which sells books and Cd's (formerly a shoe store). The only reason they lose stars is because the Bathrooms need hooks ! All ladies bathrooms should have hooks for your purse or personal items. We can't just throw stuff on the floor or trust a table that sits inside. read more

This location is very convenient and I enjoy stopping in when I go to 2nd and Charles. Very good service and a nice atmosphere. However, I have had the issue a few times where they pack my cup almost full with ice, and I get what seems like only a few ounces of the actual drink. Last weekend I ordered a grande sized pink drink, and I took two, maybe three drinks from the straw and I was done. Paying what I do for Starbucks drinks, I wish that they wouldn't overdo it so much with the ice. An iced beverage isn't supposed to be so full of ice that the ice doesn't move when you shake the cup. Other than this, it's a nice location. I would strongly recommend that you say light ice when ordering though. read more

Came to this Starbucks location to do some work and get a drink before an event I was attending in the area. They have a nice long table inside and a couple of single round tables. The service in this location was not very good. Definitely different than other Starbucks location where they make you feel pretty welcome. This one I waited around a little for someone to help me. It got a little awkward because the space is pretty snug behind the counter and the area where you place your order so I was literally facing one of the baristas making the drink while seeing the other barista nearby. Finally the lady came to take my order. I inquired about one of their new drinks with coconut milk and the lady barista didn't provide much feedback or details on it. *crickets crickets*. I decided to just order another iced drink and requested light ice. Unfortunately, when I received my drink there appeared to be less ice but also less drink. I find this to be super annoying when places do this. You almost feel punished to ask for light ice and wonder how much less drink one would receive if requesting no ice. *gasp* Hopefully they were just having an off day. If not, I would recommend the employees working that early evening have a refresher training on customer service. read more

I'm not a big coffee drinker. Coffee makes me poop, and the cream they put in lattes doesn't help either. But it tastes so good. In terms of beverages go, this looks like a standard Starbucks. Just like all the other Starbuckses, they have a soy option for your drink. I'm happy about that. And because lattes are double trouble for my bowels, my go-to drinks are Chai Tea Latte with soy or Green Tea Latte with soy. And they make them nice, hot, and sweet. This is the second Starbucks on Ernest W Barrett Pkwy. It's all about which direction you're driving and which side of the road you're on. The other Starbucks in on the other side of the road, across from 75. So it depends on your preference. For example, If you happen to drive north on I-75 and need your coffee fix, you can exit, make a left, go in to this one, order coffee, make a right out of here, and head back to I-75 North. Then again, this location makes it awkward to get to and come out. However, it has a huge drive through. I guess this is for the people who are too lazy to park their cars and get their drink. So during prime time, there are a ton of cars lined up, wasting their gas idling. I have found their drive throughs slow. But that could not be the fault of the staff. The costumer could be being difficult. Who knows. read more

After the update, this place smokes all the other starbucks in the area by a mile with one exception. There internet is the S-L-O-W-E-S-T in Atlanta. I love this location! Service is very speedy, even when the line for the drive thru is wrapped around to the parking lot. I can count on them to make a great latte and get to work on time. This is not the case for other locations nearby I have tried. I have been here several times in the past couple weeks before work and have not waited more than 5 minutes once placing my order, even though there are usually 3-4 cars in front of me. I am so happy to have found a location where I can stop and quickly get my salted caramel mocha or caramel macchiato. Great job! read more

This is my least favorite Starbucks location. I have a particular drink that I created in the Starbucks app. I've been ordering it through the mobile app for months at Starbucks from Maryland to Florida and no one has ever said a word and each one has been consistently delicious. Yet at this location, one employee gives me a hard time and today essentially told me I didn't place my mobile order far enough out and it made them look bad when I had to wait for it in the drive-through, that I was holding up the line and needed to walk inside next time. Not sure why every other cashier has been gracious and polite and this guy is rude but I won't be going here anymore. The one on Chastain is a tiny bit out of my way but totally worth it. read more

Normally Starbucks is a clean, lively environment with good service. Sadly that was not the case at this location a couple of evenings ago. The floors were dirty & it wasn't the result of a bunch of kids just leaving. They had not been swept in a while. The food counter was emptied at 7:30 and there was no offer to get anything if requested. The baristas were busy talking to each other about weather while we waited. It seemed to irritate them for us to be there and then I had to ask for my simple frappuccino to be remade 3 times before there was any taste to it. Just seemed like a slushy I could have gotten at Quick Trip for considerably less. It was not what one comes to expect from Starbucks & I don't see much need to revisit this one. I love Starbucks and always have. This location's customer service is perfect. However, I have been unsatisfied with my recent drinks that I've had at this location. I've been getting my orders wrong, and the coffee itself (I always get cold brew) isn't as good of quality as it used to be before. I think it would be a great investment for them to get a screen in the drive thru (like some other locations I've been to) where they show you what you are ordering. It would help a lot! read more

One entrance, wouldn't split a drink so that a child could have decaf and add a PAID FOR doppio to a PAID FOR venti. Asked for a manager and this complete moron of a man was like "um, I'm the...." Turns and gets the actual lady manager. She tells me they can give me a cup to split the drink but the moron at the register refuses to add the doppio into my total (to use 125 reward stars instead of 250) unless he's allowed to put it into the main drink before splitting... What an A$$. Anyways, we aren't planning to visit another Starbucks ever again thanks to this guy. Avoid this joke of an establishment unless you enjoy horrible customer service and management that enjoys ensuring a horrible experience. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks BY FAR in the Kennesaw area. I drive past two, one on Chastain and one at Wade Green to come to this location because the drinks are always perfection. The line is usually longer than other locations but it's always worth the wait. Location isn't the best as it's at a busy intersection with a light that's moody, but there are always ways around the traffic. I've never had a bad experience at this location and the staff should know how well of a job they are constantly doing. Sadly, I am moving away from Kennesaw but it would definitely be my top spot for anyone looking for great coffee with a superb staff that creates delicious and perfectly crafted coffee! read more

By far the slowest drive thru service I have ever experienced. There were two cars in front of me, and it took me over 15 minutes to get my grande iced coffee. It would be different if they were busy but they only had a few customers in the store which I doubt any of them were actually ordering at the time. read more
