I had to come here to meet a friend who was dropping off some stuff for me and I must say this is an odd Starbucks location.... It's off of Chastain Road and less than a mile from Kennesaw State University. Across the street from this Starbucks there is a Dunkin Donuts, Panda Express and Embassy Suites is behind the Panera Bread. (I was here one other time years ago and I remember I had a hard time finding the place.....) The location is up on a hill in a shopping strip called Commons at Chastain. Marlow's Tavern is located here as well as a Firehouse Subs. It's super busy and there are tons of KSU students here and parking isn't fantastic but there are Starbucks with worse parking situation. You can turn off on the mobile app that mobile orders are not being processed. Instead someone who mobile orders to AVOID lines has to get in the drive thru and wait 10 minutes. If I had to do that I wouldn't have given you my money. If you have to get up to answer the door then just go ahead and hand me my order. Train better baristas! read more

This was a jewel in sandstorm! I was so happy to find an open starbucks given the current climate of social distancing and businesses temporarily closing. I was met with the voice of a very happy barista when placed my order. He actually made me laugh because it was unexpected, but nonetheless I was happy to see someone so happy. In the drive-thru they say "My name is ____, What's YOUR name?!" in a very excited, childlike, almost creepy, on the playground type of way. That's just this location, no other ones and I've lived and traveled around the country, drinking hot and cold, and frappy Starbucks...you get the idea, please just stop. Say "can I get your name please." and I will tell you, but when you lay it on so thick and awkward and aggressive it makes me not want to answer! It's uncomfortable every time and the wait is about 15 minutes when there are only three cars in the drive through. Your drink will likely not be finished or even started once they prompt you to hand over your cash or debit/credit card at the window...which is normal elsewhere I guess but you get the feeling they are just being slow or don't care...maybe short staff or were not told the right way...at least finesse your customers who need the caffeine pick-me-up and are patiently waiting but bored looking in not seeing anyone really "working". They won't give you napkins with your dripping down the side drink, unless you ask...as if you have time to ask--you're probably trying to get to work or school on time. They mess up my drink every single time I go to this location, while the one in Smyrna is a bit more decent and the drink is already prepared when you pull up to the window to pay. I just got back from vacation in Houston where the Starbucks baristas make my drink right every time the first time without being begged. Most of the employees at this Kennesaw location are cool, but the older women here are not it! Not trying to age-discriminate at all, but if you're not that good at what you do, find something else--they don't quite have the hang of it. The middle-aged woman isn't even that polite...try to just stick with the young baristas or at least not jaded unskilled aging women. ANYWAY, the drinks aren't good enough. Point blank period. They all know my name, know my drink, they have creative ways of keeping my Starbucks experience unique and it's honestly one of the high points of my day, regardless of the time that I go. They are all VERY knowledgeable about their brand and are keeping up with sanitation protocols extremely well during this trying time. Not only are the employees exemplary, this shows me that the management is just as on point if not more so. I've always had great service at this Starbucks! A while ago, I lost my voice during a particularly rough allergy flare up and one sweet barista gave me a tea that's become my go-to when I'm sick. (The hot mint tea with peach syrup!) The one drawback is that because it's so close to KSU, it's almost always loud and hard to find a seat. Pretty sure I just paid $4 for blended milk and ice. I ordered a coffee frap, which is one of my go-to dessert indulgences. At most locations, it tastes a bit like coffee icecream. All of the cream and sugar of a frap but a much stronger coffee taste, with a nice bitter aftertaste. Mine did not taste like that. It literally tasted like milk. No coffee at all. Plus it was white, not like brown like usual. This is not the first time my drink has been awful at this location. In fact, I had vowed never to come here again because I have literally never gotten a drink made right on the first try here, but since it had been a while, I assumed they had new staff. The staff did look new, but maybe the issue isn't the staff, it may be how they are trained. Who knows. Either way, my advice: save yourself $5 and don't go. Or drive 3 minutes down the road to Barrett parkway and get your drink made correctly. read more

This is Starbucks. It is consistent. They really know how to take care of you here. I order many latte's at a sitting while I am studying. They get it right at the Chastain location. Super friendly staff. Super latte's. I really don't drink the coffee, but there latte's are GREAT! If I had a complaint about this store it would be that it is too cold.
