The person who took my order was very pleasant, and when I pulled up to the window, the barista making my drink and handling my payment was incredibly kind. She had a beaming smile that honestly made my day a little brighter. Unfortunately, the drink itself is where things took a turn. On my first sip, I immediately tasted something sour, and there were chunks in the beverage. It appeared that the milk used was spoiled. I had to spit it out of my car window right away and rinse my mouth out with water. It was shocking, especially for a first visit. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I usually take pictures and share positive experiences, but I chose to post this because a spoiled dairy product could genuinely make someone sick. I would hate for someone else to go through that, or worse, get ill from it. I really hope this was a one time mistake, but it did leave me hesitant about returning. That said, the staff interaction was truly great, and I want to highlight that because kindness matters, and they delivered on that. The first visit, on a crisp 33 degree morning, I ordered a large Goat Bomb cold brew and a large Lucky Bomb cold brew. The Goat Bomb is cold brew with espresso. The Lucky Bomb is their exclusive vanilla powder with cream and espresso. In both cups you tasted delicious coffee flavor that wasn't watery or burnt tasting. It was smooth and aromatic. The coffee flavor came through the creamer easily so you still knew you were drinking coffee and not just milk with a hint of coffee. It was hard to pace myself and make it last the morning. While I was waiting for my order, I started chatting with Melissa, who was creating my coffee drinks. She recommended that on my next visit I had to ask for the cold brew blend that they specially make for the holidays called "Snowflake Crunch". I was so intrigued that she even provided me with a small sample. It was fantastic. I had actually wished my current order she was making included that option of cold brew, but in the end it meant I was determined to return the next day to try it. Snowflake Crunch is a combination of vanilla, hazelnut and cinnamon flavors. But it isn't candy sweet like you'd think, it is a balanced mix of holiday spirit in your mouth. I was so grateful I made time to met Melissa. Her recommendation made my experience in the coffeehouse so much more than a cup of coffee. Every week I have this appointment for the last almost 2 years. One day, I missed my road and we saw this coffee shop. We stopped out of pure frustration at being a little lost and so we pulled in- rather than trying to find our way back to the other end of town we were more familiar with. The first time we tried it- it was an experience. My son and I were very impressed at the flavor profiles and on how they actually prepare the drinks. He is a trained barista that has turned into a coffee snob. There are steps to take to make sure the coffee and espresso is done right and a lot of larger coffee shops just don't take the time to care. We could tell with one sip that the staff did it right. The temperature, the taste, the added flavors- all were perfect. We have a very specific order and while my son will experiment with flavors- I prefer the content of caffeine to guide my purchase. The staff was amazing at suggesting different options and worked with me to create the perfect drink. Now I I get it every week. I actually look forward to my appointments because I have the excuse to get the best coffee around... or at least within an hour's drive from my home. The staff at this location also remembers you. I know they have a lot of customers, but when they can recognize your voice in the speaker and remember your typical order- that's just a more personal experience and welcoming on a different level. I really appreciate the "goodies" that Scooters offer. When I come through and I am given a sticker, badge or duck- I feel like I am an important part of Scooters and that they are actually appreciating me-when they don't even realize that without that beverage, I'd be a completely different person. The biggest problem with Scooters is that there is not a location closer to my house. My son and I even looked into starting a location of our own, but we don't have the capital to put down. We love it so much we looked into starting a whole business based on our addiction... that's pretty wild. The owner at this location really gets involved, too. That is a cool that he is actually a part of the Scooters family, not just an overseer. He works along side his staff and has a smile on his face while doing it. All the staff they have had have been wonderful and one recently moved and it kinda broke our heart to know she wouldn't be at the window next week.
