A relatively small location. Everything is good except the parking lot. It shares with a bagel store, and during peak hours the lot is always a mess. I avoid this location because of the parking. This is a mini Starbucks, so there are not a lot of seatings inside. This Starbucks is always very busy and the parking lot is not great and super tight. This location does not have a drive thru and also located at a very busy intersection. They also recently renovated the inside of the store. Bright side, baristas are super friendly and my iced shaken espresso was so good! Although they were busy, but I received my drink pretty quickly. read more

I've been to this Starbucks well over ten times, and I'm always pleased with my order and the service! The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful & they do their best to get you in & out. This location is EXTREMELY busy so keep that in mind before you go! If you're in a rush, I suggest ordering on the app before heading over to cut down on wait time. They have a drive-thru, several tables and chairs inside and outside seating too! This Starbucks is apart of a very busy complex but finding parking shouldn't be a problem. I'm not one to write bad reviews but the times I had gone to this Starbucks my drinks were not prepared to my liking. The first time I went I asked for a venti guava passion fruit no ice. Instead of filling my cup to the top I was left with 2/3rd of my venti drink filled (picture1). The most recent time I went I ordered the same thing again, venti guava passion fruit with no ice FILLED to the top. Which is what I got, honestly not the best I've ever had. As I waiting for my venti guava passion fruit drink I saw a "color changing cup" *spoiler alert: doesn't change colors at all* which I was skeptical about so I asked an employee and they assured me it was a color changing cup. Excitedly I bought it on the spot. When I later got home I filled it up with ice cold water to see it change colors in front of my eyes a few seconds pass and nothing happens, I go away for about 30 seconds and come back to no change. Long story short: drinks are okay 5/10. Service eh 4/10. Trusting the employees and their knowledge 0/10. Going back nope 0/10 read more

I only go here begrudgingly when the Livingston Circle location isn't taking mobile orders, but dam if these guys aren't consistently the worst Starbucks around. They hit the "bad Starbucks trifecta" of 1. Takes forever 2. Mess up your order/make bad drinks and 3. Rude baristas. After waiting forever for a simple drink, they just told the lady standing next to me that she "should have set her alarm clock for earlier" . This is a really convenient Starbucks location for me and it's unfortunate that the last few times I've been, the service and quality have gone downhill. Today was the icing on the cake as I wasn't even greeted although 5 employees behind the bar looked at me. I walked in and said a little hello to the middle aged bald or light haired man who made eye contact with me to take my order. He didn't even say hello, or what could I get for you? He just stared at me.. and I was like ok I guess I'll just tell him my order. I showed my app to pay and he just looked back down. I was like, am I all set? And he nodded. It was such a bizarre experience. On top of that, my drink was insanely sweet, it's never consistent there. And my husbands drink was watered down. History lesson, kids: Years ago, our towns were populated with small mom & pop stores that offered goods and services, usually of one specific variety. If you wanted clothing, you went to a clothing store. If you needed a blender you went to an appliance store. Wanted to buy records...well, you guessed it. Eventually competition sprung up for the coveted dollar. Behemoth department stores began moving into otherwise rural areas and started putting smaller businesses out of business. Their key advantage was variety and convenience as opposed to price. If you wanted to do a price comparison, it required a pen, paper and a trip to a few stores unless of course you were looking for something appearing in a local newspaper ad Simplifying things, manufacturers were allowed to dictate pricing to their retailers, something that is now illegal. Fast forward a bunch of years and these same department stores faced a new onslaught from big box discounters. Stores like K-Mart and eventually Walmart and Target moved in and made it more about price than convenience. Familiar stores like Caldor, Bradlees, Two Guys and Alexanders were all put out of business because, even though they offered superior service, they could not compete on price. So what the hell does this have to do with Starbucks and coffee. Everything. Starbucks created the premium coffee market in this country. They were the pioneers. Starting out small in Seattle, they quickly began a march across the country and eventually the world, like no coffee place before or since. They started the market rather than conquered it. And, while they enjoy a significant share of the premium coffee business, their dominance is slowly eroding. Mom and pop coffee shops are springing up in Starbucks markets, offering not only a better experience but better coffee. While Starbucks is serving in paper cups, the competition is offering ceramic. And while they are selling mass produced foods and snacks, the local places are home baking and sourcing locally. Perhaps, more importantly, these new cafes are appearing as Davys to Starbucks Goliaths and are pulling in frequent and more loyal converts every day. It will be interesting to see how Starbucks responds to this onslaught. I think their first move will be to lower prices and to lower them significantly. If I can get better quality from a shop owned by a local merchant, why would I go to Starbucks? Time will certainly tell but I think that long term, they have a lot to worry about. As for Starbucks in Livingston, for now they have no competition. It is evidenced by persistent long lines, short staffing and there never being an available seat. At any time of the day they are also generally sold out of at least 1/2 of their food items. Again, it' is only a matter of time before a place like Bulldog Coffee Roasters or Rocking Joe moves in and slowly decimates their business. Survival of the fittest and when that fittest is a local guy with kids and a mortgage, he's going to get my money. Point made? read more

This place is a waste of life. They are really slow. Prepare to wait 30 minutes on line for something as simple as an iced coffee which is fine maybe in Oklahoma but this is the tristate area. This is not an exaggeration. All the townies seem oblivious to this fact. There are 4 or 5 of them at any given time often times more busy chatting than working. The customers don't help with their indecisive ordering. It's Starbucks but you'd think they were ordering off a menu in Mandarin symbols. They're very pleasant employees but isn't disregarding people's time a form of rudeness? How can 5 people take more than 3 minutes to ring up and serve a coffee? They're disorganized and no one has clearly defined roles for the shift so they work ad hoc which in this type of business never works. It's like watching a construction site with one guy in the hole and 4 others watching him work. Truly maddening. You'd do much better saving yourself 25 minutes by running across to the Dunkin' Donuts and risk getting hit by one of the bad drivers in this town. I recently visited this location where I used to live. It's true parking can be challenging but no more than anywhere else in the area. And it's walkable to a lot of people. It's a shame they took all the outdoor seating away from the hurricane and maybe it won't come back until the spring. Even on a busy day apparently two people made quick work of a line so I was impressed. I don't know why people were hanging out there with laptops. It's a small shop so you'll have people next to you all the time like on an airplane. read more

This starbucks has been here for a good amount of time now and since it's so close, I pretty much come here at least once a week to get my weekly fix - not that many seats but it's okay as i usually take my starbucks to go. The people here are sweet but their apple pay machine sucks (it rarely works which is annoying because that means I have to go back to my car and get my wallet out); but anyways, the drinks here are always made in a quick fashion (only once did it take awhile and it tasted absolutely disgusting) but besides that one time, the rest was fine. The staff is a hit or miss though - sometimes they are very friendly and sweet, and sometimes they give out a vibe that they hate their life and want to go . Overall, this place is quaint, they have a parking lot so you don't have to worry about meters, and the seating is decent so you can hang out with your friends or do work. They move at a snail's pace at this location. I cringe if there's a line of five or more people. If the short hills location moved this slowly, the line would extend to Bloomingdales. It's not understaffed either. They just have no sense of urgency whatsoever. It took close to ten minutes today to get a hot chocolate for my son. In fact I won't order anything other than a brewed coffee here, as I fear the wait for a prepared drink. On a positive, they are usually well stocked with pastries and prepared foods. They have enough parking, but if you're hoping to leave and travel west down Mt Pleasant Ave, it's an ordeal. I have never liked this location. It is awkwardly located, and access into and out of the parking lot is a pain. The people working there over the years have been mediocre at best, and they have a recurring fruit fly issue every summer. They also seem to sell out of the mediocre baked goods way too early in the day - maybe order more so that doesn't happen? Yuck - i'd rather brave the one at Short Hills Mall. read more

I visited Starbucks last weekend. I ordered what i always get, a venti tea lemonade with all 3 teas. I've ordered this many times before from this Starbucks as well as many others. I know what it tastes like. It tasted like the black tea was rotten or very old. I asked them to make a new one, got an eye roll and they made it again. It was the same exact thing, so i threw it out. Ordered a venti vanilla bean frap, which is supposed to be made with the cream mixture but instead they used milk which alters the taste a lot. I've never had an issue until then, ended up throwing out both my drinks and leaving. I used to work for Starbucks, I know what these drinks are supposed to taste like and how they're supposed to be made... I wasted about $10 on those drinks and didn't end up getting anything. I know, I know. It's a chain! What's there to review? Well, I've had good starbucks and I've had bad starbucks. Since they all carry the same products, a bad experience usually has to do with the service. That being said, I've never had bad service at this starbucks and my grande, skinny, cafe latte is always perfect. Ok so I was just at starbucks to get a drink and I got two grande Mango Dragon fruit drinks and when I got me me I took a sip and almost finished it!! Like what?!?! They make a mean vanilla chai tea latte, but the parking and lines can make my Starbucks treat a Starbucks nightmare. The staff is always friendly and they're drinks are good, but as the only location in Livingston (besides the one in the Barnes and Noble in Livingston Mall where you can't use your rewards or gift cards...), it gets crowded pretty fast. Don't go after school lets out. You'll be there all day. I've waited more than 20 minutes for a drink at that hour. A plus is they have outdoor seating and free wi-fi which is a nice perk. read more

For many years it was hard to tolerate staff that made faces for me not to go. I used to go for the green tea I can no longer afford now that I give all my disability money to my father which pays half hte mortgage. now it's packed where before it was empty. I used to get free refills with the gold card, many. They used to let me stay long hours. One employee asked why I was no longer going but I coudl no longer take the other staff's condescending attitude that I did not have a job. The interior of this Starbucks is showing its age. There is very little inside seating, so if the weather is bad don't necessarily plan on settling in with your laptop. What there is needs replacement--especially the upholstered leather ones. If the weather is good, they more than double seating with space outside. About 65% of the inside is taken up by restrooms and the counter space/storage area. In terms of beverage quality, the coffee was good and the service cheerful. Watch out for families and packs of kids slamming the baristas with frappuccino orders. Is there anything more annoying?! read more

Starbucks, like any major chain, can be a big hit or miss. Thankfully, this one is a hit. While the wait times can sometimes be a bit long - it's a busy location (during peak coffee times) - the staff bust their asses and remain cheerful all the while. Also, they go out of their way to brew you fresh coffee if they notice it's been sitting a while (mostly counts for the dark roast, which is less popular than pike place). The seating here is pretty decent, too - they've got armchairs, bistro sets and a counter inside as well as benches and more bistro sets outside. read more

This location is unfortunately too small for the amount of traffic it receives. Sadly missed two recent opportunities to expand as neighboring tenants closed. Now we've got a frozen yogurt shop which is too big, a Starbucks which is too cramped, and a Verizon store nobody wanted 400 ft from another Verizon store. Parking can be a nightmare. It blows my mind that this place is in the town of Livingston and is being run the way it's being run. This is my hometown and the people in this town do not normally put up with this kind of BS.
