My son and I went out for breakfast over the weekend at Paris Baguette in Livingston, New Jersey. We walked into the pastry shop and were surprised by a large assortment of pastries under glass both sweet and savory. I usually like to constrain myself to one pastry and a cup of coffee but not this time. I ordered the "Very Berry Pastry $4.09, Raspberry Almond Croissant $5.49 and a Ganache Chocolate Bombolon $3.59". Every thing is made fresh in the bakery while the bakers are visible behind a glass wall. All the items I purchased were fresh and delicious. My son ordered the Pain Suisse $4.25 and we both had a cup of the LavAzza coffee $7.49 per/cup. There are three sizes to choose from. This is a sit and sip place or a grab n go. This was a Saturday morning so we sipped and sat. I don't have many Saturdays to sip and sit so it was extra special. If you can use the free WiFi to do work, the password is ilovecake. Paris Baguette is a national chain of French inspired South Korean bakeries. I've been to multiple locations around the country. This review is specifically for the Livingston location. Parking lot is shared by other businesses so no issues finding space. I can in around 4:00 pm and most of the baked items were sold out! Looked very picked over and bare. The cake case looked nice. Also noticed that they offer 2 gluten free items wrapped and served near the registers. They had lots of employees working. Overall this location was underwhelming. In case you were wondering No, Bill is not turning bougie, lol. But it's just a simple fact that this is a very solid PB and it always features an impressive array of all-things Baked Goods!! Amazing Pastries, Cakes, Breads, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, and Wraps. Literally everywhere you look is some kind of super special deliciousness on display. If you can't find anything here you like than you're just not looking hard enough, lol. I usually don't fall for the hype of places like this and that's why it took me a while to stop in. But after checking it out a few times now you can consider me a convert. It's a great spot for either grab-and go or sit-and sip on some of their excellently prepared freshly brewed LavAzza Coffee. Paris Baguette has been a reoccurring stop for our office this month. While there are two locations closer to my job, I recently checked out the Livingston location that's my local PB. Since, I've been there a couple of times so far and I think it's a good bakery. I would recommend it if you're looking for something to bring into the office for a gathering or a special work meeting. I brought in an assortment of pastries and donuts for a team's meeting before Thanksgiving break. That weekday morning on my way to work, I walked inside about 25 minutes after opening. The place was still full of bakers behind the glass, hard at work. The pastries in the cases look immaculate in the morning. The woman who rang me up was friendly, and also told me about the PB app. I was able to scan my physical receipt and recoup those points for a free pastry award the next time. Some of the hits in the pastry box were: - Mini Strawberry Lemon Cream Croissant - Very Berry Pastry - Croisssant Donut - Ganache Chocolate Bombolone Also, for my drive to work, I ordered a 16oz Americano. The Lavazza X Paris Baguette blend is pretty good. My husband and I have stopped in together a few times - late weeknights and one time during a Saturday morning. There was a wait on Saturday, as expected, but it moved. It was busy that weekend. Late nights were more chill and is when I would prefer to go. For Thanksgiving, I treated my husband to a slice of the Thanksgiving Crepe Cake and he was happy. He's usually not a bakery person, but I think PB has won him over. Can someone please explain what the hell happened to this place. Since they've opened a couple of years ago prices have more than doubled. And no, it's not inflation. A 4 ounce cup of yogurt with a little honey and a few tiny pieces of fruit is $6. I'll gladly pay for quality but it borders on the ridiculous. I also used to love stopping in for breakfast to get either their bacon or sausage and egg brioche when I was luckily enough for them not to be sold out. They don't make them any more. All of these changes don't seem to have impacted their business because they're still pretty busy but for my money, I'll go elsewhere. Plenty of other options in town. read more

A big, clean and new Paris Baguette, this bakery chain sits in a strip mall right above the Livingston circle. They have a lot of different base goods and pastries, not too sweet cake is a nice extra treat here. We also like the different versions of chocolate croissant here. The best is the feuillete au chocolate which is a stretched, more chocolate-sweet version! We love PB but this location could use improvement. Specifically in two areas: online ordering and the drinks. My wife often places orders in advance, and every single time things are not ready and/or made wrong. About the drinks, the quality has been very inconsistent; sometimes they're great, but we've often been disappointed. Love the "less hassle" location here. Ample parking and indoors are spacious. There are many baked goods to choose from and can be confusing what to get lol For this visit we opted for their chocolate ganache slice which was delicious and chocolately. The milk buns were soft and fluffy just the way we like it! They have grab-and-go options for food such as sandwiches and cakes that look really pretty. I've always enjoyed visiting PB for pastries and cakes due to their great taste and quality. However, I was extremely disappointed during a recent visit to the Livingston location when I picked up my online order of a red velvet cake for a friend's birthday. While the flavor was fine, the cake itself didn't match the image I saw online--it was missing the fresh strawberries that were featured in the picture online. Additionally, the quality of the cake was subpar. When I tried to cut into it, the cake collapsed, and the cream stuck to the knife, making it nearly impossible to slice. The texture and presentation were far below what I've come to expect from PB, and I was very disappointed and felt like PB Livingston ripped me off with a $44.99 red velvet cake that I wasn't able to cut into slices but instead had to serve my friends a the cake in "puree" version. Given the disappointing experience, I would appreciate perhaps a replacement cake bc it wasn't worth $44.99. It's concerning that the Livingston location would serve such a low-quality product to customers without checking, and I hope this feedback can help improve the standards and staff at this location. read more

Very affordable, soft cakes that are my new go to my parents. They love the fresh tasting fruit and love that the icing isn't sickeningly sweet. Ordering online is super easy. And the best touch is that the cakes usually come with a cake knife and candles. There are a ton of pastry options that you can choose from in a grab and go style. The coffee cronut is always a huge hit and the caprese sandwich (heat at home) is solid. Came here on a Saturday during lunchtime. I waited 15 minutes to get to the cashier. The line of patrons went all the way to the entrance. There was only one person at the cash register. Another person was busy making drinks. Another person was doing online orders. The online ordering system should be turned off if the store didn't have enough man power. Everyone was upset. Eventually the drink person was free, and able to open the second register. Poorly organized and managed. Lots of items were out. I did not see anyone restocking the shelves. I always love the variety of cakes, Pastries and food options that Paris Baguette provides. The place has plenty of seating space, indoor and outdoor. They have a fireplace too which is pleasant to enjoy during cooler evenings. Since the new ownership their service have improved. The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

There was one guy who knew what he was doing at the counter, plus he was also sweeping up the floor, but outside of him, no one else was helpful. The table I sat at was dirty, I cleaned it off. There is a self serve area in the middle, along with other items by the checkout. I ordered a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. The cake was ok, nothing special. With nice bakeries in the area, there was nothing here I felt a need to come back for. On top of which, prices here are higher. First I love Paris Baguette there hasn't been anything I've eaten here that I disliked. I love getting birthday cakes or Fruit tarts to take to family events as they are always a hit. I've been to several locations and this one is not like the others. This one is poorly maintained there was a fly in one of the cases. One staff had a friend I am assuming as she was yelling across the restaurant like she owned the place as her friend catered to her and yelling across the cafe while helping customers one being me. Instead of placing my pastries in a box I get them shoved into two bags. This is not some fast food donuts hop next door. To me this is a place you go to treat yourself pay a little extra for higher end products. Not sure if this is just management or what but the shelves are not stocked with many choices like other locations. I rather drive to the Livingston location then come back here and this is 10 mins away from me. I am giving 3 starts because the food tastes great (just not the food with the fly in the case because I didn't get anything in there) just the service and maintenance of this location needs to step it up. read more

I wanted to get the Ham and Swiss croissant. It was delicious. I went there but they ran out. The clerk told me that they ran out but offered to substitute it with the ham and Swiss baguette to replace it at no additional charge and even heated it up for me. The best French bakery in the area! Livingston's Paris Baguette is simply divine. All the employees are friendly and I took good note of the guy bakers in the back that were busy with their perfect bakery and spatulas and decorations. Bosses of their craft - too into it to slow down. In their element, they were knocking out trays and trays of crullers, donuts, croissants, anything topped with fruit, eclairs, those wonky colorful macaroons that chicks devour and chocolate ganache. What a great concept and cool crisp decor and awesomely offered (wiped down periodically) glass shelves that really complement the desserts. There is nearly too much to choose from - but only nearly. Personally, I thought that the lots of choices were delightful and playful and very well lain out in windowed vitrines that open with small doors. It is help yourself. My creme brûlée dessert in a little dough cup was perfectly made. I am talking it could be served in a French bakery in Paris or Nantes! The flavor was pitch perfect. Not too sweet. Not too overkill or too fragrant. Not flat either. The little dessert was a 5+ star French variant. And I know French cuisine. My only regret is that I didn't come in the morning and buy a total bag of these tiny delights. They were very, very good. Outdoors and indoors are tables to enjoy your time alongside. Indoors the windows are large to enjoy the view. You put your own desserts on flat trays and then check out in the back. The clerk asked me ; 'How are you today?' - like seriously, a young girl asking that, it's almost unheard of these days! When you enter they have a ton of options to choose from, I will say even being a Saturday afternoon mostly everything was stocked and there were items to choose from. When I went to order, the service was really bad. The lady just rushed me and while I was still giving my order she kept asking how we were going to pay. I didn't finish what I was saying, each time I named what I wanted she kept asking how we would pay. It was very off putting and really bad. We've waiting for one to open since forever. You know it is pricy but you know it is also consistently good no matter which one you go to. This one has seating indoor and outdoor. I have. It been to one that isn't busy but I must say they are pretty efficient moving people out. The decor obviously is new and pretty well thought out which you would expect after opening so many stores. Stumbled upon this place while shopping at Aldi visiting family in NJ. So excited to see a Paris Baguette open here (been to locations in NYC and Northern VA). The interior was bright, clean, and had plenty of cafe seating. Cases and shelves were lined with breads, cakes and pastries. The back counter had a display of sandwiches and larger special occasion cakes. Everything looked so pretty. This bakery can be described as Asian style with a French flair. They would have creme buns, Castillo cakes and egg tarts found in Asian bakeries but also croissants and cronuts found at patisseries. We got an egg tart, strawberry mocha donut, custard pastry and almond turnover. All were excellent. The egg tart was creamy with a firm crust. The pastry and turnover had a flaky, buttery consistency that complemented the custard/almond fillings. The mochi donut had a good QQ quality. read more

You can help yourself to whatever you want, I particularly wanted to try mochi donuts and the cream filled croissant wheel thingies. They were amazing!
