a starbucks cup with a face on it

I ordered a black coffee from the Starbucks location via drive-thru, since I was in a hurry and they had a very short line. I usually don't order black coffee from Starbucks, since it's expensive compared to other competitors, but convenience was my primary concern during this visit. My order was seamless and the staff was very friendly.

Put simply, I really love this Starbucks. It's much better than the one on 196th. The employees really make an effort to get to know me here and even the new ones give off fantastic positive energy. If they've made a mistake regarding my order (which isn't very often), they sincerely apologize and make it right. It was so sweet of them to remember the time they accidentally over-filled my coffee cup and told me they felt so bad about it the next time the saw me. There is also a drive thru at this location which is extremely convenient for me since I am always on the go. Be sure to stop by- you will not be disappointed! :)

I hit this Starbucks often and it's been one of the faster Starbucks I use. They haven't messed up my order which is always a plus. Last time I was there I ordered a Flat White and the window person brought over the cup to show me the art the barista made. In all the years I've been coming to Starbucks no one had ever done art in the foam. Thought that was cool.

Their rice pockets are SO good and incredibly filling, my latest obsession. I've tried the packaged 4-pack from H Mart before, but these are made fresh to order and seared, which takes them to a whole different level. Even though I keep coming back for the rice pockets, the rest of the menu looks delicious and gives me plenty of reasons to branch out on future visits. We visited specifically to order a sweet corn latte, a drink which we've never had before and were interested in trying. Sweet Corn Latte, Iced 20oz ($7) - Surprisingly sweetness adjustments are allowed on this drink. The drink itself has a nice mellow corn aroma and a balanced milky flavor. It isn't too sweet. There's some fresh corn mixed in that's not that sweet compared to most canned sweet corn. There's stabilized whipped cream sweet on top studded with corn and then sprinkled with cocoa powder for some color. We asked to upgrade to 20oz but didn't get charged any more. Not sure how that works! (4/5) The drink probably has better presentation if ordered for dine-in rather than to-go given that the cap they give crushes the whipped cream. Photos from other Yelpers indicate that they have domed lids but for some reason they gave us a flat lid. K Cafe Dabang serves some pretty tasty drinks. We shop at the H-Mart around once a month, so it makes sense to return to try some more sweets. Bathrooms: Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women.

The interior has a warm and cozy vibe; I also dig the lighting. There's a good amount and variety of seating. They don't have outlets on the floor at the benches in the center, but there are a few outlets on the walls, so if you need to charge your devices I recommend sitting at the chairs next to the treasure chest (where I'm writing this review lol). Space seems very dog friendly, and there are 2 tables outside where the fur baby pawrents would typically sit with their fur babies. I also saw dog treats at the cashier that dog owners are free to take. I guess if you wanted to eat them you could, but I would judge you. For my drink, I got the Woodsman - opted for iced, large size, and whole milk. The drink was very chai spice-forward, which I loved. The staff member who took my order asked for my name, and later on when I went up to inquire the WiFi password, he addressed me by name - impressive. The owner (?), Heather, also thanked me for coming here after I picked up my drink. Needless to say, super friendly people. I didn't get a pastry or sandwich, but that's the goal for my next visit!

They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. It's more of a place to buy bread for convenience rather than anything special, but it does the job decently well.

I am always intensely disappointed with myself for not remembering how much it sucks, especially with 85 Degrees bakery just down the block. My latest foray led me to two loaves of milk bread for $11!!!! WTF? First of all, the two loaves look absolutely different... one is a square, and the other one is more like the milk bread shape. The lady behind the counter assured me they are the same. Spoiler alert: they are not, but they are equally awful. For those of you who knows REAL Japanese milk bread, it is like magic. I f***in' love milk bread... and while I don't use drugs, I imagine the euphoria I feel when I bite into milk bread is similar to a drug high. La Bon's milk bread is literally the worst white bread I have EVER tasted. It's worst than any grocery store brand and tastes like paper mache, wait, no.... I ate paper mache as a kid and this is far far worse. The pure and utter sadness I feel every time I put a piece of that shitty white cardboard into my mouth is worthy of a country western song.
