Not a great Starbucks. There are one or two employees at this Starbucks on the busy week day mornings who consistently make coffee incorrectly. I can go here three days in a row and have three different things wrong each day. Pass this one up if u want to grab coffee between 7-9 on the weekday mornings. Used to absolutely love this Starbucks. Great people, good service. Recently they re-did the interior and needless to say I will not be going back. What once was a welcoming cozy place to do work and drink a coffee now looks like a highschool cafeteria. Took away all the charm of a small town coffee shop. Unfortunate. read more

This is the absolute worst Starbucks ever. As you can see from my other reviews I am not one to give a bad review but this place deserves it. The employees are friendly ill give them that... but every saturday and sunday morning the line is out the door because they dilly dally around and make jokes and sing and throw cups at eachother rather than take the order and make the coffee.... last Sunday was the last time ill ever go there again, since I waited 15 minutes for one coffee! read more

This is one of messiest Starbucks I have ever been in. The pastry case is super gross, a mess and food is missing. Coming from a fellow barista, I'm grossed out! The condiment bar is a mess as well and our guy didn't call out my drink, let alone my name...so my coffee sat there for a while....and then made the wrong drink. The baristas are not friendly and don't know what customer service is. My drink is lukewarm on a regular basis and there always seems to be 1 or 2 employees not doing anything/talking. There definitely needs to be better management at this store. read more

Generally, a good experience. The coffee is consistent (I would hope so from a chain), and it seems like a nice enough place. The staff is rather inconsistent, ranging from super-attentive to playground antics. Generally an OK place to go for coffee, but there are better alternatives in the area to explore beyond this shop. read more

Since i've now lived in San Francisco for two years now and since theres no dunkin dounuts, i've adjusted to the idea of a starbucks on every corner in SF and when I'm home i always make sure i visit this starbucks. The atmosphere is really calming here, i think its because it has something to do with being home...i'm not sure but i love going to this starbucks. Love my Starbucks. I am a gold card member and always get a trenta iced passion tea, unsweetened, light ice, light water, 4 Splenda. The baristas always get it right and know my order now. They are super friendly and seem to really enjoy what they do. Line can be long but it's worth the wait. There's street parking and a lot in the back. read more

I love this Starbucks compared to all the other ones. Maybe it's because it's in the 'burbs and not in the Boston amongst the rat race. it's so calm and mellow and on a nice day, you always see people just sitting outside, drinking their latte while reading their newspaper. Just so much more laidback and relaxed. Funny, cause when I'm in Boston, I avoid Starbucks since it's always so hectic, btu I love going to this one. Oh, and if you're not taking it to go, they serve your beverage in a REAL mug! that alone gets you 5 stars my friend. read more

Today, I went to Starbucks and wasn't sure what to order. The Barista, Holly suggested one of the Signature coffees and Sasha also helped out with my sugar I take question. The new manager Abby was super helpful and another Barista, made and prepared my coffee perfectly. This Starbucks is one of the best in the area located right on Main st. The baristas are quick and friendly. Always busy and active here. I love that on the back wall they a two quotes and mural. A nice extra touch! There coffee is just as good as new shop that opened down the street. read more

I do love their food in there . Unbelievable have organic healthy choices for lunch and lighter fare. As well as some of their dessert choices. Very impressed. I do not like the new decor though. They did recently renovate but that's okay . It's more open I can see. I loved their last country look before but I am a creature of habit as you must know by now. Ha ha. The cashiers are nice, but by the time I am finished paying for my drink the barista already has my drink made and waiting on the counter, this would be great, if SHE bother to tell you it was yours or even call the drink a second time. This has happened to me several times at the Melrose location on Saturday mornings. It has been the same women making the drinks.... Have placed a complaint several times... does not seem to make any differences. read more

Great location, store layout and coffee. Service was not as quick or helpful as downtown locations, but good nother the less.

It's very busy on the weekends. During the week it is regulars days and you can kick back and be you.

Good place to relax and watch the goings-on in Melrose. Lots of regulars. Baristas are efficient, pleasant, and friendly if you engage them. Drinks and food are always good. If you are going, use the phone app to order ahead -- no waiting, no clogging up the line. I've parked on Main street or in the lot behind Shaws, have walked in, and my food and drink have been there by the time I got there, well within the "3-7" minutes the app estimates. My wife thinks it's "cheating" but I think they have an online process that is separate from the in-person processing so I justify it by saying that I'm actually helping the people who walk in behind me. read more

Remodel not an improvement. Still the same great people and service, but the remodeled store seems to be built to be uninviting. Instead of a living room feel it has an industrial, library reading room feel. All the hard surfaces make it very loud -- the music reverberates around the room. Conversations are more difficult but at the same time I can hear everyone talking. Been coming here for 15 years and will continue, but for a more comfortable feel when I'm going to stay for a while I'm heading to Kushala Sip in Stoneham. read more

speed is a problem most mornings Ive been there and mainly because of the way they structure the group or have people filling up sandwichs/salads and dry goods items at 830am when there is a line of fifteen people waiting...non of which will be buying a salad. It's just common sense but somehow day after day you see them stocking the shelves when there is a line of customers wanting a simple cup of coffee.. The workers are hit or miss in terms of service and personality. But all in all good people. read more
