This is the worst PLACE - barr none ( coffee shop, restaurant, business, place of service) that I have ever experienced. We went there 2 days in a row while we visited Memphis to get a cup of regular drip coffee and both days they had none $*%#! The girls working there were bold and obnoxious and threatened to call the police because we asked why at 3:30pm a well renowned coffee shop such as Starbucks would be out of coffee. Horrible!!! The customer service is dismal at best. They had no change and round up so the customer pays the difference. My order was $8.15 so they charged me $9. I understand things happen but the attitude and and explanation was non existent. Plus the floor was wet and the wash tub was in middle of store at 9:36. Whoever the black guy is with cornrows going straight back with gold cuffs who was working Monday May 29th (Memorial Day) at 4:35PM deserves a raise. My boyfriend and I went there for our annual cold refresher and they were out of lemonade for my strawberry açai-- he made a great substitution choice for apple juice instead of lemonade and it was fantastic. We had great conversation about NBA game 7 and even gave great recommendations for where we could watch the game. Don't know his name, but he should know who he is. Absolutely loved him. read more

This Starbucks epitomizes incompetence and bad customer service. After waiting more than 30 minutes for a drip coffee and breakfast sandwich, I followed up on my order and the baristas were completely indifferent about my order or service I was receiving. It's worth noting that there were only three customers in front of me when I arrived. I was treated as though I was an irate and difficult customer, I was being as patient as someone could be after waiting 30 minutes for a coffee. I ended up leaving without my order and no refund (I requested one). This is not a one off experience at this location, they are constantly slow and rude to customers. Clearly a little too early for me because not even a block away, I dropped it and it went everywhere. Because my kid is so amazing she swiftly ran into the Starbucks to get me another coffee. This place needs either more training and more staff they cannot handle anything. My entire order was wrong. I didn't even say anything because multiple people in front of me order was wrong and lady got a horrible attitude when people kindly stated not what they ordered. So I didn't even say anything but asked for a lid and got an attitude for asking for a lid. Place and staff need to be observed. It's almost 2020. How hard is it for Starbucks to have online order enabled at all stores and not just select few?

I've hesitated on this post because I've been coming to this location for 3 years. My lack of review was really about giving this location and time and space to give me a different opinion. I desperately wanted them to get it right! But, alas.... Surprisingly I find a parking spot almost every morning. This is a plus being that it's in the heart of downtown. This isn't a location in which people necessarily lounge. As a result you have a lot of in and out traffic. The staff just seems ambivalent to even being here. Don't get me wrong they express pleasantries. It just doesn't sound very pleasant. I witness very few smiles. I feel like I am going through an assembly line. There also seems to be a lack of urgency. On occasions when the line gets longer I don't see a different pace or camaraderie to aid with overflow. So why come here you ask? Well I find myself coming here because it's a convenient stop for me. The other SB locations are harder for me to get in and out of. At this location I can literally pull up to the curb and then walk in. Even with a low score I will keep coming here for this very reason. read more

I would have given this Starbucks zero stars if I could. Where do I start? The atrocious service, long wait, or half-completed orders? I went to this same Starbucks four days in a row and all of the above got progressively worse. The only upside was the friendly order taker guy/cashier. The other two women fixing and delivering orders were outright rude. As another Yelper indicated, it felt like I was interrupting their lives by asking where my iced coffee was after waiting 15 minutes. On none of the four days I was there did I ever receive my order timely. I learned my lesson after the first two days and only ordered beverages since my food orders were either continually forgotten or not fixed the way I requested. The lady fixing/delivering the orders would just set them down on the counter without announcing what they were or who they were for. I've never experienced this at any other Starbucks. Examples of wrong orders: - Asked for plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. Got plain bagel, untoasted, with nothing else in the bag. - Asked for iced coffee with soy and sugar added. Got iced coffee with full milk and no sugar added. Had to ask for new coffee and received an eye roll. - Asked for spinach and egg white wrap. Got nothing after waiting 15 minutes and noticed others were getting their orders. The lady fixing the wrap threw it on the counter in front of me when I finally got it. - Friend ordered a steamer. Got nothing after waiting a while. Had to ask about it and got an eye roll. The eye rolls surprised me after the second day because I was sure these women recognized us by then. I thought that small familiarity may have gotten us better service. WRONG. read more

I love Starbucks because it's consistent and I know what to expect. I go to Starbucks, I expect free internet. However, here you have to get a code when you purchase something, which bums me out. I always order something when I'm going to be staying for awhile, but I may not want to do it right away (like today, I'd just eaten a big lunch and wanted to wait). It's a small store, with limited seating (and none for a group), and there are also only two outlets, so don't count on being able to charge anything. Finally, the service just wasn't that perky, kind Starbucks attitude that I've come to expect. The place is usually busy when I go there but it's has it slow times which is nice to have some quiet time. It's a good place to get frappes for the most part. read more

This is an absolutely terrible Starbucks. We were there almost 30 minutes waiting for a plain bagel and a sweet roll. There were three employees at the Starbucks. Two were busting their butt to get orders out but the lady that was doing the food prep could've moved any slower. We ultimately left without our bagel because we had a commitment. read more

This Starbucks is connected to the Westin Hotel just off of Beale Street. I had my January tumbler in my purse and needed a quick coffee pick me up after touring two museums. Service was speedy, it was afternoon and I was still able to get a Bold coffee (Gold Coast Blend). Had to remind the barista that my coffee was free due to the tumbler, which she confirmed with a co-worker. I was in an out quick. Lot of foot traffic, it is a coffee stop, small shop with limited seating, not a place to linger and drink coffee. And today it was exactly what I needed. read more

I enjoyed the efficient service and their early Saturday hours. The available seating is all bar (with a few patio tables) and isn't super comfortable, but I understand that it isn't really practical for a downtown Starbucks to have comfy seating. This is the only starbucks downtown and it's ease of access and hours make me a hugh fan of this place. I love this location because it's easy to get to by foot (probably not so much for cars) and the way the outside railing is makes for a good spot to tie your pooch up while you run in for a coffee. They are open early (before 7am) so I can grab my coffee then head home to get ready for work. And they never give me a hard time for ordering a small whip cream cup for my pup. Sadly they don't allow for redemption of free items through starbucks promos and the actual location is quite small. For an in and out coffee run though - it works out well - and it's never busy (at least when I've there!). read more

This is one of the worst Starbucks I have visited. The staff is unfriendly and lacks basic knowledge to serve at McD's let alone Starbucks. It was afternoon and the brewed coffee was Pike or a 'medium' coffee. I tried to order a bold pour over coffee which I have always been able to get. The staff did not seem to know what i was even talking about. I asked if they knew what a pour over is? Perhaps the shift manager said yes, but we do not have any coffee ground to pour over. The medium coffee was not exceptionally hot, and I was over charged tax on my order. This 'bucks' has quite the monopoly in it's location. Pity. They need an effective manager. read more

4 times I've visited and had an issue at this location out of 6 total visits. The problems ranged from their blender not working (conveniently 10 mins prior to closing) to their app scanner not working (so you can't pay with the Starbucks app). Every time I have an issue I just refuse to give them my business. There is an awesome coffee place a short walk away called Tamp & Tap. I'd suggest going there for a great coffee and excellent service. Also, I have no benefit to telling you about the other coffee place. In fact now that you know about it the line there will be longer, and I'll have to wait longer for my coffee. read more
