If they are wondering why their coffee sales are low. It's because nobody works there. Today I had to ask two employees if anybody was working. After waiting seven minutes, then asking someone, five minutes later two employees appeared, one was training the other. There was a lot of confusion and then they overcharged me by five dollars. Again, if you're going to put a coffee shop in your store, please make sure that your employees aren't just messing around out on the floor and that they know how to do their job.

I especially like the pistachio latte. They have a small but quality selection of sweet baked goods to go with your coffee if you're not diabetic or gluten intolerant. Me, I'm diabetic and bigot intolerant but there don't seem to be any bigots in here the times I've been. This mall does have some comfy seating not too far from the coffee shop and pretty good WiFi but none of the seats are set up in a way you would be able to get any work done with or without the coffee. One negative is that although they take credit and debit cards, you can't put the tip on the card, and they are chronically short on cash. There aren't any shops nearby that will give you change so try to come here with a couple of singles as baristas do deserve tips. Second level across from Bath and Body Works.

I'm not sure what it was--if the coffee itself was over-roasted, or the milk went bad, or the machine (God forbid) was not clean--but the drink tasted burnt, bitter, highly acidic, and just "off," giving a weird unpleasant sourness at the back of my tongue. It's a good thing Collectivo serves flat whites in their smallest size, because if it had been any larger, I could not/would not have finished it. I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur, but I *am* a bit of a coffee snob. I love a good coffee. I love a well-made coffee. I know good coffee. I typically buy local freshly roasted beans, and make myself a coffee at least 1-2 a day at home. NONE of the coffee I've ever made at home--or that I've had out and about at any other shop--has tasted as bad as what I had at this particular Collectivo. I'm not saying they're all like that, I'm not even saying any other drink at this Collectivo is bad, but I anticipated--and expected--much better. There were only 2 people ahead of us, but it took a while for us to get an acknowledgment for being there, as she was working hard on making the drinks for them. Inside, there is seating downstairs or upstairs, which tends to be a bit quieter (my choice). Also upstairs is a meeting room that you can reserve. The counter to order is at the back of the shop, which can feel a little distracting if you are sitting downstairs, with people lining up across the room. On this visit, I got a super friendly greeting from the cashier. Ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little vanilla, a little lavender, extra foam) in a mug, and a blueberry lemon scone. They do a nice job with the latte, and the scone was very good (might ask to have it warmed up next time). The place has a great vibe. The staff seem to enjoy themselves and treat everyone with kindness and respect. It's a great example of what a coffee shop should be.
