Placed an order today at 4 something and was expected to be ready 4:08pm. At 4:17 I was a bit perturbed when my drink was still not on the counter. I proceeded to asked about my drink very nicely the blue haired girl pulled it from over near the drive thru. Not one word came out of her mouth. Not anything but pure rudeness. Never have a ever threatened to be killed at a Starbucks. It is not that serious. So I come here to get coffee but I'm unfamiliar with the area. I get to the drive through and there's a line, so I'm trying to angle myself out to drive around since I have the app and can order online. Some lunatic gets out of her vehicle and starts pounding on the hood of mine, screaming about the line and finishes off with "don't get killed!" Followed by some impolite name calling I won't bother to repeat here. The worst and most poorly managed Starbucks I've ever been to. We were the only ones in line and sat at the drive through window for 15 mins to order one Pink Drink (for my kiddo). The employee would randomly come on and ask me to hold. Once we finally ordered, we got to the window (again the FIRST in line) and waited for TWENTY minutes to even pay. The two people working inside were hustling (prob for an online order) but there was absolutely no communication with us. Our single medium pink drink sat on the counter within eyesight of us for about ten minutes and no one ever came to the window. Visited the location at Jefferson and Mercury in Newport News, VA this morning. We are regular customers, probably visit there 3-4 times a week. This is the first time we have had service this bad. We put in a mobile order, like we always do, within plenty of time for the order to be filled before we get there. When we get into the store, the order was not ready. We waited a few minutes for the team to make our drinks, but nothing came, and they wouldn't make eye contact. After waiting about 10 minutes, we were finally able to get the attention of the team member, but we were blown off when we asked about our drink. The next issue is that the Grande size coffee we got was "double cupped" with a poor fitting lid. The fitness of the lids has become very poor. No one likes hot coffee running down their hands onto the console of their car. It might not have been as bad if the cup wasn't over filled. read more

This Starbucks is in a great location for me - so I work here frequently. As far as Starbucks locations go, it's pretty standard -- and actually maybe even on the smaller side. It feels a bit more cramped than other locations. In general, the service here is just alright -- not nearly as friendly and welcoming as other locations I've been to. Obviously, the menu is the same as every other Starbucks, so no surprises there. The one thing I've noticed somewhat consistently about this location is that around 3-4 in the afternoon, they start playing what I'd term more happy hour kind of music -- upbeat, pop/dance tunes instead of more calm, coffee shop vibe stuff. I usually go thru the drive-thru, but this morning I decided to go inside. The very nice barista (didn't get her name) took my order. I forgot to mentioned that I preferred light ice. But no worries, I can catch the barista who's preparing my drink. When I POLITELY ask for light ice, KIYA dropped the ice scoop so hard as if he/she/they/them was annoyed. I commented, 'I didn't mean to inconvenience you.' Thinking maybe he/she/they/them are programmed to use 2 scoops, maybe whatever individuals are identified as TODAY are OVER WORKED. Typical Starbucks. Not happy with the Starbucks new business model where comfy chairs and couches were replaced by impersonal group think tables with wooden uncomfortable chairs. Somehow Starbucks has lost sight of who really has the resources to afford these drinks. On the positive side, employees always seem to be pleasant and quick with your drink. Here I am...again...writing a review for a mega chain. But I'll focus on the service since we all know what the coffee is about. This location started off slow when they first opened, and like with any other new location opening, it wasn't that sweet. Fast forward a few months, and they've got it together! They get my order right (including temperature), more often than the coliseum central location which has been open forever. I can't count how many times I've mobile ordered something at coliseum central only to find out when i get there that they don't have it and I've checked my order before I leave the building OR they'll sneakily replace something I ordered with something else without even asking me. The one time this happened at this location, they met me know as soon as I walked in and offered to replace or refund. THANK YOU! So I say all that to say this...the service here is MUCH better than other locations. It's always quiet and clean here as well. If I were the hipster type to write the next great young adult novel, I'd definitely do it read more

Just went through the drive thru at this location. The drive thru took forever! I ordered a cake pop and venti iced blonde vanilla latte. When I pulled up to the window they handed me the cake pop then shut the window, literally a whole 3 mins later opened the window and handed me my drink and shut the window again. I didn't drive away because they forgot to hand me the straw, so I waited for them to open the window again. I pulled away and tasted my drink...absolutely awful! I have had this drink many times and they forgot the vanilla flavor I specifically ordered. Even without the vanilla it still wasn't made right. If I have an order over $7 dollars and waste my gas waiting forever in a drive thru the employees could at least get my drink right! I will Not be returning. read more

I ordered a Frappuccino style drink and it was not taken off the menu online when they must've been out because I was given a hot drink- no choice given as to possibly being given an iced version instead. They also were out of the large cups so I was given a size down of what I ordered. I'm not sure if I was refunded for the size difference, it says it's the same price (as in same receipt price) on the app. Was having a very bad day and looking forward to treating myself, the stress of being overcharged and my excitement plummeting really sent my capacity to retain the stress over the edge. Not coming back here. Y'all need to unlist if things are out of order (idek if that was the case or if the barista misread) and not overcharge when you don't have a simple and necessary of a commodity of the cups you sell coffee in. I love Starbucks, but I would drive out of my way to avoid this one. The manager seems like she always has an attitude problem and like you're such a burden to her whenever you come in there. There are a few good people there who know how to do their job, but most of the good baristas have left due to poor management from what I'm told. So as an ex barista it's not easy to make 180 coffee (all different mind you) every hour and us saying let me "check on that for you" means I am moving to get your food form the back of the store putting it in the oven than running to the front to put it in to the cash register as well as your drink order than to make said drink that is probably not just the regular coffee it probably has a whole bunch of different stuff in it so while we're doing that we're holding you at the window. because the person behind you probably has a drink more complicated than yours and we can only make two drinks at a time but you also have to remember your people inside the store as well getting drinks at the same time you are in the Drive-Thru. So I say to these customer that get all upset because we're not moving fast enough. Starbuck's and other coffee places are always hiring since you think you can do a better job than people making your coffee then why don't you fill out an application and to it. than you can say that we are slow or whatever else you would like. read more
