I came in at 1:40 pm on a Friday, and as expected it was busy. However, that is not why I am writing this review. I ordered an iced lavender latte with one pump of mocha and oatmilk. Since the barista station is open, I was watching as they make the drinks. I saw the barista pour whole milk into my cup and then put oatmilk on top of it when she realized she was wrong. Not to mention, the latte was not stirred. As someone who worked as a barista, I understand things get busy, however, I am lactose intolerant. Very disappointing. read more

Who knew that Newtown needed another Starbucks just 3 minutes from the original location and 2 minutes from the Starbucks kiosk in the Acme Supermarket? But yeah, it works. The drive-thru is super convenient and amazing when you're in a rush, and there's tons of parking in the adjacent parking lot, unlike the branch on State Street, which can be a parking apocalypse. The staff here is really good, as you'd expect at any area Starbucks. The drinks are always perfect and everything is served within the time frame they estimate in the mobile app. Bathrooms are always clean too, which is nice. If I have any criticism (and it's probably because I'm currently in the middle of a metamorphosis and blossoming into a cranky old man) it's that the music level is sometimes a bit too loud, something that's especially noticeable when I'm trying to get some work done on my laptop. I don't mind background music, but sometimes it's just off the charts loud and the playlist isn't even that good, so it gets a bit annoying. Other than that though pretty cool branch. While I'm not a Starbucks guy (too often burnt beans), this new drive thru sit down plant in the Village @ Newtown Shopping Center is very cool. Laid back, smaller footprint, friendly accommodating baristas, and decent breakfast profile, make for a pleasant interlude. Panoramic view of the ever expanding choices coming online in this primary commercial zone in Newtown. Can see Melt Shop, Factory Donuts, Naked Chocolate, Oishi, Nothing Bundt Cakes from my small deuce in the window. Here for a quick Saturday morning meeting, I enjoyed their oatmeal with blueberries, crannies, raisins and a touch of brown sugar (How come you dance so good?!). Perhaps, a little too much packaging for a health planet, but they do have choices. Even the Pike's Roast was more flavorful and less bitter than usual. Meeting went well, so this $$$bucks could become a strong house for getting together in private conversation. There is enough ambient noise from the polished concrete floor, high metal ceiling and sound system to mask any but the loudest voice. read more

People complain too much. This leads me to believe they haven't had their order taken by Domonic... The British accent alone is enough to fill your bucket. But then there's a mystery behind the accent. Does he sing Lewis Capaldi covers at Friday night karaoke? Why America? Did he never receive his letter from Hogwarts? :( There are so many questions to ponder during a conversation over coffee. The moral of the story is, don't order from Jerry. Dom is worth the wait. The service here is wonderful! Not only is the staff super friendly but kind as well. My phone was dying and I asked if any of them had a charger I could borrow and a few people sprang to my rescue offering theirs! Not only that I was offered a complementary food item as one of the employees had made an extra one, though I declined the offer I felt that I was being taken the extra mile in terms of care. The ambiance and energy of the store was clean and peaceful. My one and only tiny complaint was the music at times was a bit loud. Other than that I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to visit this location. read more

I've been to so many Starbucks you begin to expect the usual friendliness. Well! I'm sorry your drink names are kinda confusing. I didn't know vanilla cream Frappuccino was not the same as vanilla cream with coffee Frappuccino. Apparently I really offended the red headed guy barista who mixed the cream in my vanilla cold brew with sweet cream instead on putting the sweet cream on the top as I requested it. I wasn't being a pain, I just directly asked for the drink like that. Just like the pumpkin cream cold brew with the cream on top. Well they didn't make it that way. No biggie, the cashier was nice and just put some cream on top-- no problem but I had to over hear the red head guy complain about it... because I didn't call it a sweet foam or whatever shmancy name you call it--- so he called us dumbasses! And heard him say he loves people who don't know how to order. Get over yourself. I'm sorry I don't live in Starbucks to know every drink specific between cream and foam. It was annoying and put me in a bad mood. I mean I always order the same thing, why do you have to act snotty and pissy. I'll be even more specific next time to be sure you understand to put the sweet vanilla cold foam cream on top on my cold brew drink next time! So I don't make you mad! I cannot begins to express how important customer service is, especially if you are in the Starbucks industry and are known worldwide for how quick and polite the service is. This Starbucks makes me never want to come back. The barista Jerry that had attended to my friends and I was incredibly rude. He raised his voice at us, pushed a phone away when we asked a simple question and was just very aggressive when we ordered our drinks and asked for simple assistance, it was not even rush time and they were not busy. The manager, Jerry is rude. I see other people on here saying the same thing. One other comment I saw was he got frustrated when having to ask twice about "pumps" for his drink. He did the same thing for me. Ive never seen anyone get so mad about asking how many pumps one wants in their drink. It's kind of funny, not gonna lie. This dude needs to Chill. Also, I'm the climate is all of this, I would like to say I appreciate all the people that are working. I'm working too, but I'm not an a hole to customers like this dude. When I went to hand my card to him, I asked his name and he started freaking out saying his assistant manager heard anything. Went in Monday night 1/27/2020 around 7:00, and was abruptly greeted by Jerry. I was attempting to order a cold brew with almond milk and French vanilla. Jerry asked me how many pumps I wanted, which I was never asked so I said I don't want it too sweet. With that he blatantly rolled his eyes and said that's not what i asked, how many pumps do you wAnt...:. Once I was given my drInk it was slid across the counter, and I went to thank him and all I got was him to shake his head. That is horrible cusTomer service. I will never return to this Starbucks. Nothing better on a hot day than your fave beverage - unless the staff gets it wrong and you realize that they don't know their products. I ordered a Venti iced Earl Grey tea (I repeated this a few times as the screen said "BlkTea") with heavy cream and sugar free vanilla syrup. I know it takes a few minutes for the Earl Grey to steep, so when it was handed to me nearly immediately, I asked when they started keeping iced Earl Grey on hand. The girl working the window said "Uh, I don't know...?" and the barista who had made the drink said "we always have our iced black tea - it's an English Breakfast blend". I responded that I didn't order black tea, I ordered Earl Grey, and the girl with the headset said "I thought Earl Grey WAS black tea". I responded that though they're both made with black tea, Earl Grey has bergamot and other flavors and is a different tea. Instead of offering to remake my drink correctly, and since I had already paid, she just smiled and said "sorry, I thought it was the same thing."
