The frosted sugar cookie, is a sugar bomb. The cookie itself is good, the frosting is delicious. The two of them together is a bit much. If there was a thin layer i would like it more but it's piped on. I'm sure anyone with a sweet tooth would love it. It's a cute shop, and the lady who helped me was friendly enough. But i think i understand why people might have complained about customer service. I know in the south we are used to very overly friendly staff but you won't get that here. Cracker Barrel was super close to our hotel so we walked over. This must be a location that hald already gone through the remodel as it didn't seem as "cluttered" with decor as the old version. We were greeted by the manager as we were escorted to our table. Alex H., our waiter, wasn't far behind. It may have been one of his first days by himself as he seemed a little hesitant... but then again, the manager was stoking the fire right near him... so maybe he was just nervous. Alex did a great job. Our orders were brought fairly quickly, including the ever elusive Broccoli cheese casserole. The portions were perfect for us that day (they seemed smaller than normal but we weren't starving anyway.) He very politely handed them to us plate by plate and came back twice to check that everything was well. I HAVE to mention that Alex even used proper English which isn't common in daily conversation. More often than not, people choose to use slang. This is likely one of the best visits to Cracker Barrel that we've had in a long time. Alex should be promoted to a peer trainer! Unsure of it was mine, I walked closer and seen my name. I asked "synthia" if my order was complete. And instead of a simple yes. Or getting a simple notification that my order was ready. She rudely replies, "if it's on the shelf that means it's ready." I felt that response was very rude. The same energy taken for the rude response could have been used to simply tell me it was ready, or say "yes" upon me asking. I will not be back. And judging by other reviews on this establishment, I am not the only upset customer that will not be returning.
