Stopped in to check out this new coffee shop/roastery today and can report that it is quite good. Really big open space, (seriously it is roomy), with lots of seating and natural light. Relaxed/casual vibes. Beans roasted on site so the espresso is as fresh as can be and the baristas are putting out excellent drinks. Lots of drink options as well as a good selection of baked goods. Beans and merch for sale as well. Quick service, friendly people, great espresso, and good vibes. What else can you ask for? Don't hesitate, stop in and all your coffee related dreams will come true. 5 stars.

I really loved the atmosphere in daysol! There were three sections where you could sit and the space was very open. Everyone who worked there was so nice and kind. My cold brew was good but i'd love to go back and try a seasonal option.

Another great coffee shop added to the Birmingham scene. I ordered the orange cardamom latte and it was delicious. I love how they converted the previous space, it felt way more open and cozy. There is plenty of seating with tables and couches. If you are working from home make sure your batteries are charged! Would definitely recommend.

Great cappuccino. Very friendly people. Very cool ambience. I will definitely be back. Obviously the coffee is the most important aspect and these folks have got it down to an art.

    Outside

Inside is pretty cool, has an industrial style. There isn't a lot of seating inside, but we got our order to-go, so it wasn't too much of a problem for us. It's a dog friendly establishment, so keep in mind if you're into that kind of thing. It's located near Pepper Place, so we stopped here before going to the Saturday morning market. The coffee was good, but felt a little overpriced for what you get. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes for a plain latte, and it cost about $7 or $8. Probably won't go back but it was a cool experience to try it out.

Genuinely had a top 5 cortado here, the flavors are super unique - there seems to be some Asian influence to their flavors? Love that they use minor figures as well. I ordered an iced americano given it was a hot day around noon. I got my drink and went to add creamer and sweetener like I always do. And bam that's when I noticed this place was one of those we are going to force you to have what we believe is healthier for you. What do I mean. No Splenda no equal just that nasty truvia. I'm diabetic so I don't use sugar and truvia is just nasty. It tastes horrible and makes your drink taste horrible. Now mind you they will use all kinds of syrups with dyes and additives and sugars but nope not Splenda. That's bad for you. The 50 grams of sugar in a single vanilla latte is totally fine. We're ok with that even though that alone is over the recommended amount. But Splenda no we can't allow that. Will never be back.

This was the first location of Baba Java and has since expanded through the city. Ran my Omani entrepreneurs, this little coffee shop became quite popular over the years. The staff working here are mostly teenagers or college students, who are very attentive and professional despite their young age. The owner clearly picked out incredible folks to be here who make Baba Java feel both welcoming and well kept. The interior of the space is fairly basic coffee shop design, but admittedly, a little bit dated in 2026 and lacks the unique vibe of some other independent coffee shops. Window views facing the strip mall parking lot don't create much of an ambiance either. With that said, design is not the main thing to come here for. The coffee is excellent and priced very reasonably, offering a great value for an establishment of this sort. There is easy to access WiFi and an overall feeling of being welcomed. A solid little coffee shop that allows customers to support some local business owners instead of a big chain.

It ended up being perfect--sweet but not overly sweet, and really flavorful. I also signed up for their rewards program and got $5 off my first order, which was a nice bonus. I originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice, but ended up sitting inside. Next time I'll try to get there earlier to grab an outdoor spot. Parking is pretty tight--the front lot is small--but I was lucky to find a spot, and I noticed some people parked on the surrounding streets. I've had good coffee, great coffee, exceptional coffee, mediocre coffee, and questionable things called "coffee". O'Henry's on Highlands is a standard small coffee shop inside, nice ambience, cute. Staff is friendly for the most part. Has usual stuff like food/pastries, etc. While all nice, the one thing I've never liked was their coffee. It's standard tasting, basic B level, and when i'm in the area and have to have a coffee right now, I end up ordering a flavored coffee there, because it masks the lack of flavor of their actual coffee, which is what I really wanted in the first place. If you are an average Joe and just want a cup of coffee and there happens to be coffee shop you're parked next to, O'Henry's will do the job. But if you're looking for a great cup of coffee or even a good cup of coffee, don't bother coming there, because you won't find it, sadly. Scale of one to ten- Shop itself: 8, Coffee: 3-4

The coffee here is great by my non-snob, bean-uneducated standards. I had a honey cinnamon latte, as recommended by the wonderful two baristas. They were great to talk to, told me their favs, cracked some jokes, and I left giggling. Hehehe. Something about this place makes me feel like I'm Zooey Deschanel in a twee coat on a rainy day in Portland.
