Stopped in while in Ruidoso for a soccer tournament, and this place did not disappoint! The store was spotless, and the service was fast and efficient. Since we had to be at the fields at the crack of dawn, it was such a relief to grab coffee as early as 6am. This is probably the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. There were six barista's working, but it seemed like only one was making drinks. Beth who was working the counter, had no idea what she was doing. She didn't know how to ring things up or work the cash machine properly. We ordered a hot chocolate and ordered it kids Temp (which is warm). They gave it to us scalding hot! We also asked them to make it a specific way and they clearly did not follow the recipe that we gave them because it tasted terrible. The only saving grace for the store, is that it looks cute inside like a regular Starbucks. However, the employees didn't know where a lot of items were located. read more

This Starbucks experience (5/15/21) could have been A LOT better. I haven't been to one in several years. My brother and I were en route to pick up breakfast for the family back at the cabin my other brother had rented for his wedding celebration. Needing coffee, my brother swung his truck in the drive-thru line for what seemed ages. Ages. I mean sloth-like movements. Then after over a half hour of waiting in line in little ol' Ruidoso, the young lady at the window tries to hand boxed chocolate milks to my brother. I said, no, I wanted plain milk, remember? Honest mistake. Got it swapped out. Then she gave me back more change than was necessary. A whole dollar back. If she isn't counting back the money to customers, how can they ensure this Starbucks even making any revenue? Lol. Then as we drive off, I sip some of my iced mocha... sweetest drink I've had in a long time. The sweetness staved off any possibility of coffee mixed in. I might as well have had chocolate milk. We stopped by on Christmas it was packed. It took us about 15-20 minutes before we got to the front of the line. I wish they would've told us approximately how long the wait would've been. I understand that it's busy and it's the only Starbucks in town but it they would've communicated the wait time I probably would've left. There is no reason why a person should have to wait 45 minutes for their drink not including the wait time it took to order. As I was observing, and previous Starbucks employee myself I don't understand why the cashier didn't stop taking order and help the baristas catch up on the drinks. He kept taking order over and over, when there wasn't anyone left in line to place an order instead of helping out with the drink he was opening the boxes and putting the shipment away. How does that make any sense? There weren't any seats to sit down, not exaggerating but there was at least 15 people standing waiting for a drink. Overall poorly managed, and wasn't greeting coming in or anything I know it Christmas and majority of the people don't want to be there working but I have been to other Starbucks and they make it was a wonderful experience from the moment you step in till the moment you leave. I've been at other starbucks where they have more traffic but go through it faster than this one did. I did not see any reason why they were so slow. Passing a similarly extensive line of cars at the Starbucks I recently spent a notable length of time in my recent visit. I drive the 5-6 miles to deliver the wife and daughter their treats. This is the good part, if you're still with me. Handing off the drinks to my ladies, my daughter asks me where her sausage and cheddar sandwich are. My son who was driving and did the actual exchange is wholly oblivious. I look back in the car. Nada. Decision time. The total price was about $24. Three drinks. That was an absurd price in any truly pragmatic perspective. But this is America in the 21st century. We're foolish. So I know I need to return to that insane que and hope that the cheerful wonderfully nice lady from an hour ago both recalls my utter and complete F -up and will also behave in kind. F yeah! She and another of the people behind the illusion were awesome and recalled the silly knuckleheads who left half their order behind. So here's the deal. Five stars. Simple. The quality of the beverages were subpar, and during peak? I waited to have my order taken for 30 minutes in the lobby, and when I got to the register, the barista taking my order was rude. I've been to this particular Starbucks many times, and I have yet to encounter any problems. The workers are so warm and welcoming to all of the customers that walk through the door. The service team I'm a part of visits here daily, and have yet to experience any difficulties. The workers are effective, kind, and overall funny to listen to as they have their interactions. The cleanliness of this location is incredible, and the overall atmosphere of the place is incredibly enjoyable to me and my coworkers. Definitely my favorite Starbucks to have relaxed and eaten in! This has got to be the absolute slowest Starbucks in the history of America. I kid you not, I waited in line at drive thru for an hour before getting to the mic to order my drinks. Then I waited 15 mins before I called the store to say hey I'm at drive thru and nobody is taking my order. Woman said sorry I will tell them. Mind you, there are 4 cars ahead of me and 6 cars behind me and no way out because drive thru lane is narrow. Woman comes on to take my order and says sorry I thought the drive thru lane was backed up and I didn't realize you were waiting to order. What...? I order my 3 drip coffees as easy as can be to hopefully avoid more waiting. Nope. I turn the corner and see 3 cars ahead of me. Poor guy in front of me gets out of his car to help his kid in the backseat who likely is screaming his head off asking why can't we leave?? The man has the most dejected look on his face. Best Starbucks I've been in. Let me say I did not go in the store, I used the drive through and my order, Venti Mocha nonfat extra hot with whipped was perfect every time I went through on this stay. In fact one morning I'd left my purse in my hotel room and told the guy who took my order I'd have to cancel the order & come back after I retrieved it. He told me to stop by the window and then flagged me down as I was about to go past and presented me with my Mocha free of charge as well as two puppicinos for my dogs. Needless to say I was floored and the gesture set the tone for my day. People who go in ten minutes before closing and then give a one star because they were told the truth, the store is closing & then asked to leave so that the people who worked their butts off can go home, pickup kids from sitters, get dinner on for their family, have no business reviewing anything.
