Since I've been coming here more regularly I've had much better experiences than the one I had a few months ago. Everything I've ordered has been very consistent and the drive through moves along fairly quickly. Not sure what has changed but I think the quality of the drinks and service has vastly improved, my last experience seems to have been a one off situation considering I've been back 10+ times and had much better luck. read more

I think this is the dirtiest store in all of Salem. In the past few months I have been coming to the store I haven't seen their abysmal standard of cleanliness get any better. The lobby is always littered with trash, smeared with coffee spillage, and full of dust and bugs. Bugs! Their windows and glassware are always filthy and besides the front door I don't think the glass has ever been cleaned. I have seen baristas touching trash then make or touch drinks. I have seen baristas touch their faces and hair then make or touch drinks. I watched a barista, Brittney, come back from a bathroom break and put on her apron without at least washing her hands. I watched Riley clean the floors behind the counters but not the lobby. I watched Jack kick trash underneath the food display thing. I watched Layah drop something before scooping it from the floor and baking it anyway. I am old. I have to walk most places I go and that includes the grocery and this Starbucks. I do not want to find a new place to get my coffee every morning. Now that I see management change but no real quality shift I may have to stop going there altogether. This store will never be clean if the kids stand around and the adults don't take action. read more

Sarah, who I am assuming was the shift supervisor/manager this morning, was very loudly berating, shaming, and mocking employees in front of myself and 3 other customers when I was in the store today, 6/23, at around 11am. Sarah was actually walking around yelling at other employees about how everything they're doing is wrong instead of, I don't know, actually managing, delegating, or helping? Two of the employees looked like they were going to cry. It was incredibly uncomfortable and sad to watch. Your cashier was still able to force a smile when she took my order and I gotta tell you - that is the saddest thing I have ever experienced. I was afraid that confronting her would lead to worse treatment of the employees in private (especially considering how little she cared about her behavior and actions when she was right in front of customers), but trust me I was real close. From someone with years of HR experience, and history working as a Starbucks barista, I can tell you that this behavior will not help your company decreases turnover or increase retention during this labor shortage. It will not make customers want to come back and it does not at all embody the mission statement of your company. I stood waiting for my drink for at least 10-15 minutes watching this train wreck unfold. The drink I was served was awful, which is not a surprise considering the conditions the barista was working under. Talk to your staff and coach/discipline your manager. Do better. read more

I am an UberEATS delivery driver and I just picked up from this location.... I am absolutely furious at these employees working this morning!! I've never experienced such horrible customer service if that's what you want to call it...in my time working as a delivery driver or for myself before! I came inside to pick up an order and there were about 4 employees working and all of them saw me come in and saw me standing there looking around. I was waiting for one of them to ask me who I was picking up for or just give me the basic greeting....pure silence! What??? I am absolutely shocked right now! Hope you managers can train your employees to have at least a little bit of customer service....as someone with well over 20 years customer service experience....I AM APPALLED! I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the store on Wallace Road It used to be so clean and bright but I noticed there was debris throughout the store. It looked like it hadn't been swept in a week. If the condition and appearance of the seating area is so poorly maintained it gives me grave concern about what happens back of house, and the preparation of my food and beverage. I'll be visiting a new location from now on and hopefully Starbucks won't let me down. read more

This Starbucks used to be a great place to meet a friend for coffee but not anymore. I'm sure that the drive through at this location probably generates most of its sales but please clean the lobby. My husband and I decided to go inside yesterday and while the coffee was good the lobby was disturbingly filthy. I understand that things get busy and it's hard to keep up sometimes but it was obvious that this store has not been cleaned regularly for quite some time. read more

Love this location. Not just because it's close to home, but the service is good, coffee is made right 90% of the time, and the workers are always nice! I've only had a couple bad experiences and they were resolved almost instantly. When lines get long it can be annoying to wait, but this place gives $4 gift cards when you're wait is longer then it should be. I've never had that happen at any other location. Pretty terrible Starbucks all around. As someone who has been an avid sbux fan for 2 years this is one of the bad stores that I have had the displeasure of walking in too. None of the employees seem to really get along with customers or each other for that matter. If you listen closely you can here them talking bad about their manager, other baristas, and customers. Sad that this is my local Starbucks. They don't make the drinks right and they trash talk openly. If I still worked for the company I'd have the whole store fired and restaffed. read more

Was having a really awful and stressful morning, so I decided to treat myself to Starbucks. Well then I got rear ended in the drive thru, which of course only made my morning worse. When I got up to get my coffee and paid the gal asked how my morning was going and I told her well not great the lady behind me just rear ended me. After getting me the drinks I'd ordered for myself and my kids she gave me some for $4 off my best coffee and said I know it's not much but here's something to make your day a little better. One positive thing in a super stressful day really did make a difference to have at least a little bit of a positive experience in everything going wrong today. This is the worst experience I have ever had at Starbucks. I was standing in line and one of the barista's helped the two people standing behind me. He was saying that they looked like they have mobile orders. But without even asking me if I had a mobile order(which I did), the Barista just assumed. Then I had to get helped by someone else. Aside from the obvious that I live on this side of town this Starbucks is a great place, the people are super friendly, and they do try really hard. Sure the line outside and inside can get long but it's a steady pace. There have been a few times where they gave me a freebie to apologize for taking long which was awesome and also are very helpful when I want to try something new and they give their honest feedback. The only time it did take 30 minutes was when that unicorn frap came out and everybody and their granny was ordering it, I ordered two- the first one got done in ten minutes and then after 15 minutes I asked where the other one was and they were so sorry about that- which honestly was understandable since as I said awhile ago it was insane when that frap came out. They have literally messed up my drink every single time. If you want a white mocha chances are you are going to get a regular mocha. If you order almond or soy milk you're lucky if they get it right the first try, it's like they see non dairy milk on the order and the person making it just doesnt care. read more

Something happened in July of 2017. For about 2 months now, the Starbucks on Wallace has been getting my order wrong one time after the next. It's to the point that I won't drive away without checking everything first. Today my son went there for me. My drink which is a no foam/no whip drink came to me with a good portion missing. I asked my son if he had been drinking it and he said no (which I already knew). So disappointed to see such poor service happening at this location. read more

I've been stopping at this Starbucks a couple times a week while working in Salem and have to say the people here are great. They quickly learn your name and your drink and are always cheerful at the register. I've been to many Starbucks and many can feel soulless or the baristas and staff seem indifferent. Not here. Crew chief Alex sets the pace for efficiency while also finding the time to greet customers by name. He really makes the place. The only downside is the small seating area and dearth of outlets to charge laptops, etc. read more

Do not get the vanilla bean coconut milk latte. It's not good at all. It was 5 bucks for what taste like a bunch of syrup with a weird sour taste. The after taste that stayed in my mouth made me gag. I had to toss it and brush my teeth. read more

I am out of patience with Starbucks. They have changed what is provided in the coffee shops. I have been trying, for more than two months, to get French Roast whole beans and have been unable to get them at the coffee shop in Salem, Oregon. The managers are unable to order specifically for their place of business. If I order online, I do not earn stars. Why is that? I hope that Starbucks reads this and realizes that I am unable to get a very popular item. If I could get it online and earn stars, I would do that. I waited patiently outside with my dog as I tried to get someone's attention thru the window. No one would acknowledge me so I went around the corner to the drive up window & there were no cars in the que so I stepped to the window and asked if I could order here, cause of my dog. Well first, again I was ignored and then another young lady came around the corner inside and hurried to tell me they would not serve me there cause it was dangerous. Now I really appreciate this, yet the way she told me and her tone of voice was not necessary. So I politely asked her if someone could step to the door to take my order as I had my dog. She told me in a very unkind way, that she could not serve me. I walked over to Roth's and got the outstanding service that I was looking for and enjoyed the stumptown coffee at the outside tables. I went through the drive thru yesterday and my drink was made incorrectly. I went back this evening and told the barista and she remade the drink no questions asked and didn't charge me a penny. Staff was nice and efficient. The first time they didn't know baked goods inventory and had trouble taking order. Second time the coffee I ordered came lukewarm which is hard to understand since it was only a couple of minutes between order at drive through and delivery at window.
