Starbucks is always a go to for my husband and I. He lives on their black iced tea. The employees at this location work really hard to get to know the people who come into their store. They've gotten to know my husband, so well that when he pulls up in the drive-through, they already know his order. They are friendly, efficient and accommodating. They are very knowledgeable and are more than happy to make you any type of a drink you want even if it is a little "extra ". Definitely pop in and get a drink. We have never had any issues with this location and they always get our orders spot on the first time. read more

I came Tuesday night to be there at opening Wednesday morning for the Bearista cup and Hello Kitty cups. There were 4 people in front of me, including an employee of that store who said she unboxed the bear cups herself but that store "only received 2" and that the manager hid them. Sure enough, when the doors opened at 4:35am, there were ZERO bear cups. There was no explanation of course. The manager hid them for herself to buy later. This is unacceptable. Why would Starbucks spend money to advertise them but only send 2 and then not even give anyone a chance to buy them? I'm sure you can look up the barcode and see exactly when they were sold and who bought them. I can tell you I'm not the only disappointed person who was there at opening. We came here and ordered two peppermint mochas on a Monday, while it was very slow. When we got them back one tasted okay (way better at the Lompoc & Buellton stores) but the other one tasted like watery coffee/chocolate. Very little flavor at all. We drove all the way back to the store to have it remade & when we received the remade one it still tasted terrible. Also when we asked them to toss out our old drink that was being replaced they said they couldn't take it because we had taken a drink. I don't recommend this store at all. Around 7:30 this morning (10/6), I placed an order for one drink at the register. As it was rush hour, and I wasn't in a hurry, I expected a wait within reason. At the time I arrived there were two others waiting in the store and the drive through was a little past half full. After placing my order at the counter, I said "thank you" to the girl with short, jagged bangs and black glasses who took my order (who seemed unfriendly from the get-go) and instead of saying something back out of common courtesy / basic customer service, she just made some weird facial expression and raised her eyebrows as if she did me a favor. It was weird but somehow not surprising. After fifteen to twenty minutes, I noticed that three people who came in and placed orders at the counter after I did had already received their orders. Some with multiple items in fact, compared to my single item order. So, I made my way to the counter where they set the drinks out for pick up to ask about the status as I was starting to think my drink might not be in the queue at that point. While I stood at the counter, a few staff members passed me without acknowledging me or asking what I needed. So, I asked one employee if she knew the status of the chai in my name. I know she heard me as she was making eye contact as I asked. Instead of saying something like "let me find out", she didn't answer me and instead, she walked up to this lady in clear eyeglasses that appeared to be the manager on duty and said something to her. Next thing I know the person she said something to (a tall woman with black hair and clear eyeglasses possibly Tanya the store manager) starts yelling into the lobby "everyone we are seventeen orders backed up and cannot bump your order ahead you will need to wait". I absolutely DID NOT ask or expect my order to be "bumped up". I simply asked the status after patiently waiting for 20 minutes and watching three people who placed orders at the register after me walk out with their orders, which was more than reasonable. So, I spoke up and made it clear that I did not ask for my order to be bumped up, and I reiterated the fact that I asked about the status of my order. Then she said, "you all should have received a message saying that your order has been delayed". If I placed the order at the register, how would I have received a notification that they were backed up? She assumed we all placed online orders. Then she made it a point to start calling out random names and telling other customers their order would be ready shortly but not mine. Anyway, I gave it about three more minutes of this passive aggressive nonsense then walked to the register and asked this supposed manager for my money back. And of course, as she was refunding me, one of the servers that ignored me earlier as I was trying to check the status appears with my drink. I declined on principle, drove to another Starbucks that was just as busy if not busier, and what do you know, my drink was ready in less than two minutes and three people greeted me as I walked in. The staff at the location I went to after this unnecessary experience seemed much more professional and happier. There is major difference between this store and the one at Betteravia and Parkway. This store is clearly unorganized, poorly managed and no one there looks happy at all. It's not surprising that many reviews at this location match the experience I had today and span the course of ten years. Which leads one to wonder what the criteria is for hiring managers and staff at this location. Based on what I witnessed and experienced this morning, it appears that if one is miserable, hates people, doesn't know how to communicate professionally, lacks basic customer service skills, is socially inept, unorganized, unwilling to check on an order for a customer, incapable of managing daily rush hour, they are selected at this location. I live in a busier area, and the rush hour at this location today was mild in comparison. It's an absolute crap show in there. Only to find out later that the lady in clear glasses that was passive aggressive, and yelling might be your store manager Tanya. Her inability to problem solve, and conduct herself professionally set the bar very low. read more

I love their Pumpkin Spice Latte but not enough to put up with their poor customer service. I ordered online, arrived a few minutes early but was happy to wait. I checked the drinks in their 'online order' area & mine wasn't among them - not a problem. I waited along with others. Time ticked by, no drink. After several had gotten their drinks, the server called out (which she seldom did) - Gabby & looked at me. I said No, Stefanie & she didn't respond. Thankfully, another customer let me know that my grande hot drink was behind 2 venti drinks on the counter (not in the online order area). She knew only because she had just looked over all the drinks waiting for hers. The server rarely called out names as she finished drinks & seemed happy to just let them pile up on the counter. The customer service here is horrific. It's very clear that the entire store runs off of mobile orders. We stood in front of the cash register for six minutes and had three or four different employees look at us, but not acknowledge us. Finally, I asked one lady if we had to fill out an application to be Considered for having an order taken. She had her headphones on and didn't really know what was going on. I had to repeat my question three or four times and she never took her headphones off, even though she was looking directly at me as she was preparing another order. Finally, another lady came up and engaged with me and she apologized for the delay. We ordered an iced latte, croissant and a cappuccino with cinnamon on top. Once we got our order in, it was completed promptly like within four minutes. So they did good on that, however, they forgot to add the cinnamon on the latte. So I had to go back and re-ask for the cinnamon which the lady promptly gave me. It seems to me like they're not focused on Customer service here. I order the most simple drink and they manage to mess it up. A small cold brew black coffee with vanilla foam on top. $6 dollars for a small cold brew is ridiculous, especially when it taste like water down milk. I had them remake it and it was worse. Inside wasn't busy at all only had one person that had ordered before me and they got their drinks 5 minutes after I ordered but they we're waiting for their drinks already. I ordered one drink and 10 minutes pass by and I still didn't have my drink. So I asked how come it was taking so long and she said that there were people ahead of me but there was no one else in the store ONLY in the drive through. So it seemed as if the people who ordered inside weren't as important to the ones who were in the drive through. Looking for a place to focus while I knock out some projects I was driving through town and landed here. Easy to find on the main street Broadway. The energy in this place is straight out of the Cheers (old TV sitcom) handbook. As I was working I noticed how the staff greeted the "regulars" not just by name, they remembered birthdays, and weekend plans too! Veronica was like a rock star rolling out beverages. The Baristas here were friendly and fast and made tasty coffee I went to times once I did the straight Sumatra dark roast and another time I did a dry cappuccino and did not even have to explain what that meant. This Starbucks does not prioritize people's orders. I placed a mobile order 5 min before I got to the store when I arrived they asked for my name and told me they were working on it. Two separate people walked into the store and ordered at the register and received their drinks before me. I then asked the barista if my drinks were ready, which I got attitude for asking then he asked a fellow coworker if my drinks were done and that worker said "I need to learn to wait.". Starbucks itself is in my opinion an example of a chain of coffee shops that do extremely well in gauging their customers .. almost every Starbucks I walk into has friendly service and great drinks.. no complaints on that .. however this specific Starbucks is the closest to me and the one I most frequent.. I visit this Starbucks about 2-3+ times a week as I am a freelance worker and it gives me somewhere to work outside of my home. However if a barista named Jenn (at least that's the name on her tag) is present I can already assume my time there is going to be shitty. She is so rude, and I understand this specific store gets a little busy at times but even when the traffic is a little slower her attitude is standoffish, cold, and entitled. Sadly I am not the only customer I have seen her treat so badly. I hate to pinpoint the bad service one person but she is someone who I have seen consistently treat people like crap. Nice sized Starbucks (bigger than many if not most). Staff is friendly. Looks to be a good working environment with wall outlets throughout, to plug in necessary devices. Coffee and teas are your run of the mill Starbucks. Nothing was overly sweet not excessively watered down. This is a decent locations and the drive thru appears to be running quickly, though I'm on the inside and can't say with certainty. Definitely not the horrendous line we experience at the Brentwood location on Brentwood Blvd (94513). It has plenty of people coming in and out with several staying to work from their laptops or for small group meetings. We will likely be here again when I'm tagging along on a business trip! :-P read more
