(Head over to the Sbux in Harris Teeter across the highway - you will get served MUCH faster - and for chrissake, it's just a lousy stinkin' Sbux drink nbd.) I walked over from Marshall's for a "quick" or what I thought was quick anyway (!) hot latte. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less. Walked in and ordered at the counter - NO ONE ELSE IN LINE AND 2 PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME WAITING FOR THEIR DRINKS. TOOK THEM 25 MINUTES TO MAKE MY DRINK. NO LIE. Had I mobile ordered though, I would have gotten it MUCH sooner. Mobile order customers were in and out in no time. Baristas crankin' them mobile order drinks out like there was no tomorrow. I absolutely cannot stand Sbux shops that prioritize mobile orders over walk ins. MAKES NO SENSE AND IS INFURIATING. Do NOT come here if you don't mobile order or if you're in a hurry or during peak coffee times (early am, weekends any time, etc). Even after 20 minutes waiting for my drink, the barista had THE NERVE to announce "sorry folks - we're doing the best we can - thanks for your patience - we'll be right with you." The number of people waiting for their drinks to be made kept getting bigger and biggee - the waiting area filled up. And it stilllllll took another 5-10 mins for me to get my drink. ANDDDD I actually had to go up to the barista to ask when my drink would be ready - she asked for my name, I told her, she checked and my drink was sitting on the counter with another batch of already made drinks! No "oops" "sorry" "my bad". Nothing. LAST TIME I WILL BE GOING TO THIS LOCATION. RIDICULOUS. AND ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION. read more

This review is solely on my coffee. I ordered a venti and I WATCHED the barista pour the coffee and was extremely disappointed. The amount of oat milk was fine, forever the coffee was less than HALF the cup on top of that, the rest of it was straight ice then cold foam. Super disappointing. We stopped on our way when leaving the island. The place was PACKED. while all of the employees were following COVID-19 guidelines, there was no social distancing enforced. The place was nearly elbow to elbow and was when waiting for drinks. It was so busy that the mobile orders were delayed and there was a long line waiting for mobile as well. Staff looked busy and remained friendly. The drinks were great - no concerns. Due to how high traffic this tiny Starbucks was it could have used a sweep, mop and clean up at the sugar station. read more

This is my Starbucks when on vacation in the OBX and they rarely let me down. Bonus a Rita's ice right beside it that is open year around. When pulling up on a Sunday I almost turned around after viewing no parking and looking at the line through the door. However, something told me to trust that they could get me in and out and to church in time and I was correct. The line moved flawlessly and I was out within 10 minutes which I considered a win! My cup of coffee and chocolate croissant was delicious too! One draw back that many Starbucks customers may have is them lack of a drive thru. There was no way to pull it off with an area to the side being right of way. I also noticed that the cool give seat I dubbed the "love seat" has been removed after a small interior remodel. I'm usually not one to leave a bad review, but I just left this location and am completely appalled. We just drove 4.5+ hours to the OBX, got some terrible news and had to turn around and drive 4.5 more home... we stopped to get coffee to help keep us awake. I understand we arrived close to close but I didn't think it would be the end of the world. I work in the service industry as well and would NEVER act the way this lady acted. She had the WORST attitude, didn't listen to what we were saying AT ALL, and then slammed the door behind my fiancé. My boyfriend and I visited this Starbucks everyday while on vacation in the OBX and were very happy with our experiences here. The staff members are very friendly and welcoming. The service is quick, and orders are accurate. The food and drinks were perfect! I was also able to pick up a beautiful North Carolina mug from the Starbucks You Are Here Collection at this location. This Starbucks has a very nice atmosphere, and it is kept clean and organized. I enjoyed my experience every time we came here throughout the week, and we will definitely be coming to this location again on our next trip to the OBX. read more

rating starbucks feels very sob like in that in order for me to give Starbucks 5 stars you better have the most amazingly efficient staff during a huge rush. This place eh...it held up in that it is one of the few Starbucks for miles in the area. I do think it was smart that they have an assembly line when it comes to pastry orders. however it does lack efficiency in that the pastry isn't handed to you with your coffee like Starbucks usually does they kinda of just shout out your pastry. But if your not listening you may not remember your pastry. The coffee wasn't efficient either they take time to ask your name but obviously traditional Starbucks fashion your name is written wrong and your listening for the name you gave them and not who was written. Very difficult getting service on Saturday and Sunday as all the travelers stop before heading out. Having said that, though the line was long, they hustled a lot of people through in a short amount of time. Definitely recommend putting in an app order on the weekends. I've been twice (yes I have a problem) so far on my vacation, and the second visit was much better than the first. I ordered my usual and when my drink seemed to be missing about an inch of liquid (not even foam to hide the absence of a good portion of my drink) I asked for it to be fixed. The woman seemed very put out, but filled it (with cold, not steamed milk). Since it's the only game in town from a Bux perspective I went back again, and the girl not only remembered my drink order but was super nice. There was a girl who was just not on her game making drinks (she kept getting reprimanded by just about every other staffer in there) but she did make a good drink! The service was much better the second time. And they're new I believe, so I cut them some slack. read more

The best & most personable Starbucks I've been to. I went every morning on my vacation. They are BUSY more so on check in days than the other days of the week. I would say Friday-Sunday. Probably due to their location and being the only stand alone Starbucks in the Outer Banks. One of the most disorganized Starbucks I have ever been. Store is setup awkwardly, not much attention to getting orders in the correct order. Tables are jammed together, employees block aisles stocking, and not a single person used the enter and exit aisle correctly. The store needs to recognize that their traffic pattern is not working and find a way to make it work. The stocking problem was another issue entirely. The woman taking my order could barely hear, let alone we both have masks on. As soon as we opened the door we were greeted by legitimate smiles. The barista who took my order for 4 different drinks was sooo pleasant. I placed the order, she was very friendly and helpful. We all tasted a nitro drink which was great. And after ordering she asked my name for the order and just then I saw her nameplate and realized we had the same name, Helen. Not a common name that you hear often. She had such a pleasant friendly way about her and the BEST smile. I would go back just to see her smile.
