Parking is a pain!! There are limited parking spaces, and the drive thru (when it's full) lines up in front of all the parked cars, and there's no room to reverse! It's a real hassle. Of course, I love a quick pick me up for food and drinks... but if there's a long line or the parking lot is full, I just keep on driving. Slowly but surely I'm going back into a normal routine. And part of that normal routine sometimes involves a drive thru for coffee instead of a scale, grinder, and French press. This Starbucks location has been closed for about a month due to the pandemic and prior to this it was probably my favorite local 'Bucks. So I'm glad to have made a return today. The baristas are generally very friendly and always very efficient. They do a great job keeping the drive thru moving quickly. It's particularly important that this drive thru moves fast because this parking lot is a nightmare. My coffee order was placed and received in a total of 1.5 minutes. I mean...that's impressive. The cafe is very small and so this is an in-n-out location primarily. I'm glad to see the baristas are all wearing masks right now and that they have strict procedures to maintain social distancing compliance. Also super cool to find that Starbucks has extended redemption period for birthday rewards! I got to use my birthday reward to treat my husband to a ~ridiculous~ ~indulgent~ ~dessert coffee~ (iced venti caramel macchiato) weeks after my bday. That's right, babe, you just got callllllled out. **Please note my husband is still a manly dude that mostly drinks black coffee. He appreciates the subtle nuances in beans. SB....put a lid on a HOT coffee cup. Set the cup in your cars' cup holder...wait a minute and now take it out for a sip of coffee.. the lid. The LID consistently pops off easily. The lid is NOT snug. I normally would not support this business because of what it stands for but I wanted to use their wireless internet today. For some reason it wouldn't connect but I wanted to get a friend a coffee. There was a very pretty girl taking the orders and her customer service was the best I have ever seen anyone give. I had a card without the chip so had to swipe it at the top. I couldn't figure it out. She helped do it for me and when it didn't work she offered me the coffee for free. Because I never order from Starbucks, I didn't even know what kind of coffee to get my friend. She knew right away and offered two suggestions. I went from hating a corporation to individually loving this store because of how over-the-top friendly this young lady was. I didn't get her name but if everyone had customer service like this, the world would be such a better place. She was in her early 20s. The reason for two stars for this location is the horrible parking and ingress/egress design; it is easily the worst Starbucks I have encountered from that standpoint. The primary entrance is a single entry/exit on Central Ave but with a pointless and stupid triangle curb built in the middle as an effort to force people to only enter when heading westbound, and only exit via a right turn west bound. Of course, this being Florida, no one listens to any traffic rule, so judging by the deep gashes in the curbing, many people turn in when heading eastbound anyway, don't see the curb and then run over it. Additionally, I routinely see people leave with a left turn even though the curb is supposed to prevent that, along with the sign that says right turn only. Anyway, that's not the worst part of this location, it's once you get in the lot where things get really bad. Since the location is small and only has one primary entrance/exit, the drive-thru backup often snakes through the lot and out to Central. This means anyone who tries to park in a space, has to wait in the same line to get to a space, and if you're in a space trying to leave, good luck, you could be there five minutes or longer while the morons in the drive-thru line keep inching and inching so as not to lose their space, rather than letting you out. Complicating matters further, there's an entrance from the alley behind the place where people in the know try to sneak in from. This results in two queues of cars trying to get into the same drive-thru, and people fighting with one another via their cars if they didn't think the other car was waiting as long as them, and thus not entitled to enter the line in front of them. Finally, if you are there during busy time, leaving the parking lot after successfully navigating the drive-thru can be just as difficult because the turn to get out without smashing into the curbing can be quite difficult if there's a line of cars blocking half the space you'd normally use to make the turn. read more

I am a big fan of the Starbucks chain in general. When I worked on political campaigns these became my unofficial offices. They have comfy furniture, free internet, and nice music playing in the background. I have never felt pressured to buy anything or leave a Starbucks - no matter how long I have spent there. It is a great place to have a one on one meeting, prepare yourself for a presentation, or just catch up on work between meetings. My fun Starbucks tip- join the rewards program. It is free- cost you absolutely nothing- but it does provide you with at least one free drink a year, discounts through out the year, and every 13th food or beverage item is free. If you buy regular coffee, iced tea, or iced coffee- there are free refills with the card for your whole visit- which just contributes to my willingness to stay there for hours on end. Extra tip- they count the whole purchase as one purchase towards your free item- so split each purchase into individual items. I think Starbucks is moving away from this and will start counting the items on one receipt individually, but they haven't yet. This particular Starbucks is very small, which is why I am only giving it 4 stars. The parking lot is hard to maneuver around in- and it only has a handful of tables. It only has one gender neutral bathroom. But the staff are fantastic, friendly people. They always get my drink order right. I have seen them handle some really difficult people and always keep their cool. if you like Starbucks this is one to check out- or if you are looking for a coffee shop in the area where you can get some work done, this is a good place for that too. read more

Tonight I tried to order my regular order of an Iced chai, nonfat. The customer service wasn't as it normally is during the morning. I repeated to the barista working three times, nonfat milk, and received an iced chai, with regular milk. I wasn't too happy with this after taking two sips I could tell it was wrong.
