We have been going to this location since it's opened. We have had nothing but positive service from them. I love the different seasonal options they offer and am always excited when they happen. I would like to say I have pinpointed my favorite season, but I find I like them all the same. The baristas imo are the best. We have received nothing but outstanding service from each and every one of them. I'll admit sometimes they take a little longer than usual, but it's when they're super busy. Since they have built off Starbucks off the freeway, it's much better. I love the points you get when you order something and they run different ways to earn extra points. They also offer a free drink on your birthday. I always go through the drive through to pick up my order. I usually use their app and order ahead so it is ready when I arrive. read more

It took about 12 minutes for them to ask for the order and 3 minutes later I was shown the door. Just out of spite they've forced my hand to write a negative review. So the ambiance is not what it was prior to today and I definitely feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable even patronizing their establishment. So I suppose it's McDonald's or elsewhere for now. Ordered a double espresso. Got a single. I showed it to her (it was barely one shot) and she said yep, that's a double. I asked her to reconsider and she said I could buy another one. Customer who has had espressos all his life vs. multi billion dollar company and we will lose every time... She also seemed acutely annoyed to have to be speaking to me in the first place. A place to stop by on my road trip...so I really wanted to give this place a 5 Star simply because of their customer service at the register but unfortunately I can not. I ordered a white chocolate mocha with extra shots w/soy milk. In addition I ordered the bacon cheddar Gouda sandwich and I must say the drink itself was amazing but they ran out of sleeves so it was super hot to hold. I had to request a sleeve and it wasn't until then, that I was advised they were out but could provide a additional cup. In addition, I received my sandwich which was tossed on the counter and that really threw me by surprise. But I continued to press forward. The ambiance was "ok" as it was a very small Starbucks but they lacked condiments on the counter and it was a mess literally boxes everywhere. Lastly, I bit into my sandwich and it was cold..I'm guessing it wasn't nuked long enough...needless to say, I was already on the highway and I was not turning back. Super packed Starbucks on the looong road to Vegas! Everyone stops here and it is the first place to get sustenance going West on this crazy road trip. They are usually out of something, and considering the volume of traffic, it's a miracle that they have coffee. Usually a long line, and a steady flow of drive through traffic. I tried the new White Chocolate Frappucino with sprinkles, which made me feel a bit in a holiday mood, while my sweetie got a classic Mocha Frappucino. The baristas have always been cheerful and gotten the drink orders correct, even when we are 12th in line, and they put up notices for events around town, making it feel a bit more personal. Corporate probably doesn't realize the volume of traffic here. This store needs to be bigger. read more

This is the most frustrating Starbucks I've ever been to. Something almost always goes wrong, especially if I'm going through the drive-through. (And who wants to park & go inside? - that parking lot is far from ideal.) Things that go wrong: - the drive-through's computer/POS can't process the app (payment & loyalty card) so I have to use a credit card or cash - they make my drink wrong - they don't have supplies (sleeve, stopper, etc.) - they don't have ingredients for what I'm ordering I also find that the employees are not customer-oriented & friendly. They seem nice enough, but maybe need more training in how to make customers feel valued. The owner/manager is great. I'm sure she's trying her best with what she has. The parking lot busy with lots of cars coming from all directions. Sitting in the outside seating area at this Starbucks feels like sitting in the middle of the busy parking lot. Zero ambience or calm. I do appreciate there's a drive through "coffee shop" in Tehachapi... and that's the only reason I ever go here. read more

Anyways, last time, I have to upload a project online so that I can deliver it to a client, so we stopped at a great location right? Well unfortunately their internet was horrible!! Showed up, ordered my drink (they were out of salted caramel) but it's ok I customized it to a Trenta cold brew with cold foam, caramel drizzle and 7 pumps of caramel syrup. Very good!! However, idk if their AC was out but it felt muggy in there and of course, THEIR INTERNET WAS BAD!! In fact, it wasn't even working! I talked to one of the barristas and they didn't really gave me a good reason why it was out but I can tell it's an ongoing problem. Today was my last day going here. My hazelnut flavored latte tasted super bitter, super burnt, and totally nasty and undrinkable. I was beyond unhappy about it. I didn't take a sip until I had already driven away otherwise I would have asked for my money back. It was seriously the nastiest coffee I've ever had. I just threw it away. We come here when we stop in Tehachapi for food or a coffee. It is a smaller store inside but has a nice retail selection and is usually clean and the creamer containers are always full when I order just coffee. On this trip I ordered two Carmel macchiato's one hot and one iced with whole milk. Why is it that they just can't seem to get the Carmel inside the cup without getting it on the outside of the cup? It seems like only on the iced one that it happens. I'm always fighting with a sticky cup for the rest of my experience of my lovely coffee drink. So except for my sticky cup our drinks were great, the barista was pleasant and the service was fast. I just didn't like fighting the sticky cup with caramel all over it. So if you are passing through Tehachapi don't miss your chance for a Starbucks fix!! read more

Use the restroom at your own risk! No paper towels, TP, paper seat covers, what appeared to be a pool of urine on the floor, no soap. Thank god for wet wipes in my purse. I want a latte, not Hep A. I'm a huge fan of Starbucks but this was one of the most disappointing visits. As I am traveling through the state I needed coffee to help me get through my next 650+ mile drive that I have left so I popped in. I ordered a couple of sandwiches for the family, a coffee and a nitro cold brew. The sandwiches and the coffee came out fairly quickly before I was informed that they needed to make the nitro cold brew. I waited. One minute. Two minutes. Three minutes. FIVE minutes...... the barista informed me that they are unable to make the nitro cold brew but would a regular cold brew suffice? Sure. I need to get back on the road. The cold brew appears in less than a minute and the barista informs me that the drink I ordered (and had already paid for) is more expensive than the drink they were able to provide and I would need to get back in line to have my cost adjusted at the register. What the what? Why didn't she just give me a larger size to compensate? I walked out frustrated especially when my Starbucks app popped up asking if I wanted to leave a tip. Here's a tip: Educate your baristas on what is available before charging your customers for an out of stock very expensive drink. OR give the customer a larger size than they ordered (I ordered a grande) OR how about one of those "next drink is on us" cards? Starbucks fail. read more

Everytime my fiancée and I go in -which every morning- they fuck up her coffee. Wrong syrup, wrong drink, asks if we want whipped cream then doesn't give it to us, and instead of fixing the drink says, 'my bad' and just puts whipped cream on it even if the whole drink is fucked up. It's usually the same barista- Monique. But honestly the training in general at this location is flawed. I have been a gold member for 5 years and spend my time trying and tasting different Starbucks, as well as small coffee shops. I've travelled from kansas this last 2 weeks and this is the one that definitely takes the damn cake. I've also worked for Starbucks and know the protocol and during COVID they're not supposed to take the drink back or give it back and she took it back sprayed some whip drizzled some caramel and slid it back. Now on to my coffee- I ordered a Starbucks double shot on ice with classic and vanilla syrup, caramel drizzle and heavy cream. What I got- a Starbucks double shot with heavy cream not even filled to the cup. Which tastes like they let the shot die before making the drink. Conclusion*10/10 will not visit again* read more

Terrible leadership and organizational structure. We ordered a double bacon sandwich that took 30 minutes to make. We received our coffee in a timely fashion and waited 10 minutes for an item to be made. They told us at 10 minutes they were now out of that item. We switched to the sandwich above thinking it would be equally timely since our coffee and other food items were now cold. .....30 minutes later and after questioning the products existence they made it. They were happy to let me pay but not willing to fulfill the order. People working the the counter were then helping make orders. Please note that ONLY one order was in front of us and two people were seated inside. Management needs to discuss and retrain team members on roles and customer service. I truly can't tell you if customer service was good or bad because no one talked to the customers. I am confused as to how busy it gets during the day, but yet management does not schedule enough employees to accommodate the surge during prime hours. This results in unreasonable wait times. Unless you're a regular, the guy that works in the morning (not often) helps them before he starts your mobile order that was sent 10-15 min before heading to the Store.
