It seems no matter where you go that Starbucks is predictably slow and expensive. I flew from Rhode Island to Arizona and felt like I had never left home. I do love their coffee so I return but I just wish that there were a way that they could bring down their prices and serve people a little faster. They are always friendly when they make you wait so long to get your coffee but it just seems that coffee should be a quicker thing to make. This Starbucks is a convenient distance from my house. I've ordered in, gone through the drive through and done mobile ordering here. I always miss the initial turn into the parking lot going south on Rural. The drive through is always packed here during the day, though it usually moves pretty quickly. The baristas are usually pretty friendly, however if they are super busy there's a couple of baristas that act like the littlest inconvenience is the end of the world. I've had my order taken incorrectly a couple of times and although they probably weren't upset with me, it creates an extremely uncomfortable situation. Mistakes happen, it's ok. Additionally, since this is the closest location to my house, it is the only one I've done mobile ordering to. I've noticed between my drink and the drinks that I see just sitting there, that they don't seem as filled as if you were to come in to order or grab through the drive through. It's been pretty consistent on less drink in the cup from what I've experienced and have seen that it kind of deters me from using the mobile order feature. Lastly, I do appreciate the earlier and later hours because I have more opportunity to get that late night caffeine fix if I need to. So four stars for location convenience, hours of operation, and overall friendliness (minus a couple baristas, but two people can't make up the determination for all of them). read more

Does anyone know why the store abruptly shut down on Monday June 8th with a reopen designated as Saturday June 13 and the store reopened just as abruptly Thursday June 11??? My boyfriend and were delivering post mates and individual ordered Starbucks from this location..however it was closed due to a power outage so we pulled into a parking spot. The last 5 times I've come through this drive thru they have been out of the sausage breakfast sandwich. Insult to injury is that every time they also have a chalkboard sign at the entrance of the drive thru advertising that they "Now have the sausage breakfast sandwich back!!" At least take the sign down if you don't have it. Today, I declined ordering anything else since that what I specifically came for, and waited in the drive thru line for nothing. Looks like they got their act together and are back to the excellent service and food in the restaurant (except in drive thru, the wait can sometimes be short other times long. Issue with drive through is if ordering a blended beverage they make it and have it sitting there while still making the drinks for the car ahead of you. Thus your blended drink can be melted 60-80% by the time you get it. ) read more

I love this Starbucks and visit frequently when I have big school assignments due. The staff is friendly, the building is a perfect size, and the overall atmosphere and its location keep me coming back. My only problem with this location is that it is always freezing cold inside! I understand keeping the A/C on full blast during the summer, but even during the fall and winter, it is so cold! I work at a coffee shop, so I understand that it can get pretty warm making drinks by an espresso machine for hours, maybe that's why it is always cold. Even just a few degrees warmer would make a huge difference though! read more

Sell soft drinks. I will give you a LOT more money! I don't like coffee and neither do my granddaughters so coming to starbucks is a pain in the hiney. But we all love my hubby and daughter so we come here once in a while. If they sold soft drinks at a reasonable price we would drive through daily. Think about it! I used to like this place. I would go there on my days off have coffee and get some work done! One time they didn't make my coffee the way I want " I am sometimes picky with how I like to drink my Starbucks coffee" but I always explain to them how I like it and they recognize me because I go there a lot! But when I asked the barista that I like my coffee this way he was mad and remade it and gave me that attitude... normally when something like this happen in different starbucks they are nice about it and they apologize that they didn't make it they way I explained to them. But I guess this barista is not used to remaking orders. Just won't go there much anymore.. also people who work there are very very loud, it's annoying! read more

Very close to home so thought I'd come here before church. The staff here are extremely nice and are very productive. The external environment does not do the building any justice as to how big it is inside. It's very modern inside with a touch of that old coffee house chic furniture. My order came out perfect. This particular Starbucks is a complete disgrace to the Starbucks franchise and other stores across the NATION. They are constantly out of everything and anything you could think of. I've even gone at a ripe 5am and they were OUT of tea. They managed to be all out of tea for the next few DAYS succeeding that one particular morning. Along with them being constantly out of all things Starbucks??? I have also had a very unpleasant experience there with one of the workers. My friend and I had pulled into the drive thru and there was a van that was a few feet off the turn in for the drive thru that wasn't moving so we just drove past it. The monitor screen wasn't working and we heard no word from any worker so we just pulled up to the window as we were maybe one of two cars there. When we pulled up to the window to order, the worker very rudely "informed" us that they had a worker out taking orders who to our "mistake" was hidden behind that van I had mentioned earlier. She was very unfriendly, condescending, and completely unprofessional. This experience alone should have deterred me from ever going there again but alas, I went again and of course, you guessed it! No bacon Gouda. I would not recommend going to this location as there is much more efficient and friendlier location up rural road off of Vista Del Cerro, right next to Potbelly sandwich shop. The 2 stars is because of a recent visit when the barista (didn't catch her name) openly hit on my fiance while I was ordering. Super unprofessional and I'm a stickler for customer service. This place is right down the street from my place so i would walk to here in the morning or anytime in the afternoon to grab sweets or whatever. Friendly staffs but they run out of pastry items quickly. One time i walked in around 4 and they didn't have birthday cake pops which are my favorite. On weekends almost always full of people. So on Wednesday February 12 2020 at 4:40 pm I come into the restaurant to order. What happens is the two employees don't even acknowledge me or say a word. I just stand there for like 5 minutes and decide to walk out. The girl in the pink and blue colored hair could have said something she didn't. The girl mixing the drinks didn't even make eye contact. Beware of the freshly minted baristas not knowing the difference between leaving "room" in an Americano and throwing the already diluted Americano down the drain to make "room." I'm more interested in the flavor an extra shot will make with less water than the volume of a full cup. And then to remedy the "room" request by throwing it away defeats the purpose. read more

My partner and I moved to Arizona seven years ago from the "small town big city" of San Diego where we walked everywhere and it felt like we knew everyone for eight square blocks, every restaurant knew your favorite dish, and people stopped to chat you up on the street. Needless to say, it was difficult to leave that behind for a new home where we didn't know anyone, walking places is much more difficult, and there are more chains and corporate stores and almost no independents. I am happy to say, we have finally found our place "where everybody knows your name," we always feel welcome, and we enjoy the company of the staff. Surprisingly, we found this in perhaps the biggest chain of them all- our local Starbucks. The manager Jami is laid back and has a good time with her crew. It's one of the few Starbucks I've been to where the manager actually *works* alongside her team and encourages a fun and friendly atmosphere. The gang here doesn't have to try hard to have fun- it comes natural to all of them and they are always on point with both drinks and banter. Ashley always makes our drinks perfectly!! We will keep coming (yes, I drive there even though it's only four blocks) and let the water in my Verisimo go stale. You can't get good people like this out of a Verisimo Pod! read more

This place is awesome!! The food is not like fast food, it reminds me of European bakeries. This location in particular was even better today. I like this location. Anytime I am in the Tempe area getting my hair done I always stop here. They are fast, super polite and never mess up my drink :D. Went to this location for my usual iced tea before work and thought I'd beat the drive thru line and walked in. That was my mistake. I had one person in front of me, yet it took 5 minutes for them to take my order and somehow 15 minutes to pour my tea. I probably would've gotten through quicker if I'd chosen to be the tenth car in drive up. Not impressed with the inability to juggle the in store customers with the drive up especially considering it took a few minutes to even get the attention of the staff just to get one cashier. I'll definitely be going to the location down the street. read more

Pretty disappointed in the lack of service this evening. Usually service is good, sometimes slow, sometimes mod friendly than other times, but none the less, it's two minutes from my house so I am there at minimum, several time per week. After a long day, Pulling up to the drive thru screen at 859 to try and order a triple espresso quickly this evening so that I have my coffee for work in the morning, having the person to tell me sorry they are closed... Usually there is no one there to respond if they are closed.. but since technically they should still be open and she did say something, I said "hi there! is there any way you can please make a triple espresso super fast??" Unfortunately, instead of the expected great service of "of course! My pleasure to assist, not a problem at all!" I was told that she apologized but she had "already broken down the hoppers". I'm not sure why anything would be broken down before closing time, especially for the most basic request someone would have from a coffee shop. Being a neighborhood resident and regular, I hope that this feedback encourages management to ensure that employees are staying fully set up until 9pm, or even think about a later closing time, as especially in a college town, there is a large demand for coffee and 9pm is an earlier closing time to begin with. Without my coffee and having to figure this out still tonight or sit in a super long line in the morning is Not an awesome start to my Friday. This location is hit or miss. They'll either completely mess up my order and give me a free drink or get it perfect. I usually go to the one across and if I was in a rush I would come here. If you go inside they're a lot slower paced than the location across the street. read more
