    Drippy sippy cup

The new lids are horrible! The are not fitted on tightly so the drink drips down the side of the lid or onto you. It should come with a bib! Anyhow, I got my usual cinnamon almond macchiato. The drink is okay, but they didn't put enough caramel so it doesn't taste the same as usual. I also asked for light ice, however there was still too much ice.

Lumière Pâtisserie is a Thornhill gem--proof that you don't have to go downtown for great pastries…read more Yes, it's tucked into a suburban plaza off a parking lot, but inside it's light-filled, calm, and smells like heaven. The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The espresso here is excellent - well-bodied in flavour, medium roast (I think?), and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the cakes & pastries. There's also a wide selection of small personal cakes to choose from - just make sure you come early since they do sell out! We shared the cream & crumb cheesecake (simple, classic, and incredibly creamy!) and tiramichoux (think a tiramisu profiterole - such a fun twist!). Looking forward to my next visit already :)

Anadeua beautiful little cake establishment on Bathurst that absolutely delivers on quality. Their…read morecakes are elegant, fresh, and crafted with real care exactly the kind of place you turn to when you want something that feels special. The online ordering process is smooth and convenient, and the final product genuinely impresses. I'm taking one point off only because it was impossible to reach someone by phone. Communication is email only, which works, but it does feel a bit arms length and takes away from the personal touch you'd expect from a boutique bakery. A quick call option would elevate the whole experience. That said, the pastries and cakes are excellent, and I'd happily order again. Enjoy-Zuk.

The Duo cake is great, not too sweet, and I also learned from this site that it's gluten-free too. They actually have good gluten-free options, given one of my family members is celiac and we do get cakes from here for her. I think at this point I've tried all the cakes on their menu. The pistachio macaron was also good, as expected. The bread is no longer discounted like before, after 7pm it used to be half price I think. It's been like this for a while now, but it's buy one get one half off, which is a bummer since I can't eat that much bread to make it worth it. As much as I do like their cakes and such, I wish they would add more savoury items and have some café lunch options too.

A beautifully atmospheric afternoon tea spot in Toronto -- After Queen Tea Shop…read more This is one of those places that feels special the moment you walk in. The space is filled with vintage European charm, with delicate decor and thoughtful details everywhere you look. It has a soft, almost dreamlike quality to it. When we arrived, the room was already filled with elegantly dressed older ladies, which somehow made the experience feel even more authentic, like stepping into a quiet London afternoon. The whole atmosphere is incredibly calming. The afternoon tea set is generous and thoughtfully arranged. Each guest gets their own pot of tea, and I chose a lemon mango blend that paired beautifully with the desserts. It was light, refreshing, and balanced out the sweetness perfectly. It turned into one of those afternoons where you naturally slow down, enjoying both the food and the moment. And of course, everything photographs beautifully. A small tip--reservations are highly recommended. Even on a weekday, it fills up quickly, and it would be a shame to miss out.

Rating 2.5/5 - rounding up…read more Came here for a birthday celebration for my friends. They were the ones who decided on the location and I'm coming in here blind. This is my second time at a high tea place so I was comparing with one in Oakville. The restaurant is a small place with a few seats so making a reservation is best. This restaurant is within a small plaza within the mall itself. Beautiful decor representing English Victorian-like theme with dishes and plating presentation. I found this place to not be worth the price point in my opinion. The food was just mediocre. The egg sandwich was not good at all. There were too much green onions. The scones were not fresh and just too hard. The cucumber sandwich was not good either, it had a weird taste, I can't even describe it. I got the dulce de leche tea which tasted like water tea, I did not taste anything caramel or sweetness to it. Overall paying over $65 per person I expected a better taste than what I got. I would not come here again.
