So I was in line waiting for about 20min with one car ahead of me yesterday evening. Cars behind me were starting to leave but I decided to stay. The workers were either charging me for a venti and handing me a tall or just made the mistake even tho it was not that busy? I even corrected the guy on the order to make it a venti at the speaker. So i paid for a venti and was handed a tall then the drive through employee tried to fight with me over if I ordered a venti or not...... Definitely skipping this ghetto starbucks and going to the new one across from Hudson Valley. Be careful ordering from the Hoosick Street troy Starbucks. It's not worth the headache. Do they overcharge to keep money out of the drawer? I would definitely check on that one. read more

The inconsistency of this location is unbelievable. Either they are closed early or they close their cafe. The entire point of ordering online is to not wait in the drive thru line. Has happened too many times for me to count and I've decided to not come back to this location. Your inconsistency lost a loyal costumer. Get your act together. read more

Cool crew - they are friendly and usually on top of their game. They make great drinks and very consistent with the service. The place is exceptionally clean and customers seemed pleased with everything- drinks & pastry orders correct and timely. They keep the line moving, never really a wait and the order seem to be on point. Word to your ma -- the new Teavana Infusions are a nice treat. I am trying to try all of the iced drink options by the end of the summer, and so far this place has nailed a few of them. They knocked my free 31-ounce drink out of the park: Smores Frappuccino Trenta (Trenta means "thirty" in Italian.) and it was lit!!!! No matter how busy it gets they still pump out tasty drinks!!! A quick stop on the way back from a long road trip to get caffeinated. Got an iced coffee, which was typical Starbucks with a good amount of acidity and too much ice (even when asked for light ice). My wife got a tea. They had a drive through, but we walked in so we could use the bathroom and get a quick stretch. Seemed like a fine Starbucks, nothing out of the ordinary with their super caffeinated drinks which are good for long road trips, but more bitter than the coffee I'm typically used to drinking. Troy finally gets a Starbucks store! This new company store is long overdue and no more having to drive to Colonie and East Greenbush for Starbucks Coffee. I can remember back in my college days (in the 1990s) making many Starbucks runs to Wolf Road. This Starbucks with Drive Thru is located at Hudson River Commons (former Troy Plaza) in the outparcel building shared with Saratoga National Bank (opening soon), formerly occupied by Dunkin Donuts and National Savings Bank (back in the day). The layout inside is generic and not too big with the counter area in back of the space and several high top tables (long and small) in the front middle of the floor plan and regular tables along the windows. The power outlet situation seems limited to a few low places below the big glass windows. There is also outdoor seating with green umbrellas in front of the store. I stopped in here for my Grande Pike Roast recently. The coffee here was good and fresh as expected for a company Starbucks store and they offer refills for 50 cents on coffee & tea drinks (free for Starbucks Gold Card members) too! The service here was efficient on my recent afternoon visit. This Troy Starbucks seems like a good commuter location to pick up your favorite Starbucks drinks and food on the way to work using the drive thru or running inside. As a place to hang out, I can see this place will be a decent hang out for RPI and Sage students to get their work done. However, I still think the Colonie (18 Wolf Road) Starbucks is the best location to study which is more spacious and has a more homey coffee shop vibe. read more

We all know what we get when we go to a starbucks. Their coffee drinks were good (all be it over priced). However, I was super impressed with the employee working the counter. He was extremely friendly and made polite and interesting conversation with all of the customers. Was just told that they can't do an iced soy cappuccino, which I have been getting for years, even from this location before. They just kept telling me that the only thing that foams is the non fat (regular milk), I kept telling them I can't have dairy, it went back and forth like that for a minute. The coffee was good (as expected) but dang if the place wasn't LOUD. The crew was repeatedly slamming trays, dropping floor mats, and seemingly using every possible opportunity to make noise. I waited years for there to be a Starbucks near RPI. This place is a blessing. The baristas are friendly and always very helpful. They are quick to make coffee and even tho the line can get busy during peak times they are always sure to push through. The drive through is usually a good option if you're in a rush. They have plenty of seating for working and you will always finds lots of students there doing homework. All around a great hang out spot for Troy. read more

This Starbucks is very disappointing. It is the closest Starbucks to me and for some reason the earl grey tea is never in stock (for London fogs). I have been going for the past three weeks and everyday some one tells me the shipment will come Thursday or tomorrow. They haven't restocked this item in 3 weeks which is very annoying. The customer service is not good. I went through the drive thru on 9/12/15 and the guy seemed busy and offered no pleasantries. My 3 year old kept saying hello to him, and I finally said "my daughter is saying hello to you". In all, my experience at Starbucks was simply disappointing. As I approached the counter I was greeted by a man with a nasty look. I asked him "could I have a dragon fruit iced tea" he responded with " we are all out." I asked once more for another drink and he replied with yet another response saying "well we need that one to make the other." I was frustrated with his answer so I stepped back, gathered my thoughts, and approached the counter to order another drink. As I payed I heard him I taking to yet another co-worker. Through their miles they appeared to be talking only poor things about me and my friends. Yes, I know I am young, and demanding but, that does not give another the right to be rude to a teenager let alone another person. My order is never wrong, and always tastes great! The only problem is I am usually late for work every time I go through the drive thru because of how many questions the Baristia's ask you. I am all about customer service but it takes me way to long to get my order across. Before I even got my order in this morning I was asked how I was doing, which is fine. Then I was asked how my day is going...I said fine..I was just trying to get to work. So I was finally ready to order, and instead of asking me if I want anything to eat she proceeded to list a few breakfast sandwiches and what was on them. After a few minutes I was able to get my order across..but she still had a few more questions for me. She had to repeat my order and ask me if everything was correct and then ask me if I had a payment ready. I was running late for work so I feel like she almost sensed my agitation and just kept me there longer. Once I finally got to the window I was asked again how I was and how my day is going so far. I understand customer service but is there anyway you guys can do it without keeping customers waiting or hanging around so long? Normally people are in a rush in the morning trying to get to work, but the Barisita's make it very hard to get going and moving in the morning. I will say one time a guy took my order and I was in and out of there, he was right to the point and kept things moving. But if I had time to talk and hang out I would just come inside and talk to you guys. I just wont come to this starbucks anymore because they aren't efficient in the morning. read more
