This is absolutely the worst Starbucks in this area. The baristas do not understand or know how to make standard drinks and passes blame on it being busy. As a paying customer I understand and I can also see when it is busy, and this young woman clearly just didn't how to make the drink. This is not the first time I've had a horrible experience here and clearly by the all negative reviews most customers are getting the same terrible service. That particular young woman remade my drink incorrectly 3 times that visit and became nastier each time, I politely told her it's missing ingredients based upon how it looked because I made one customization regarding ice. Either way I highly recommend the Starbucks on Mound and 12 mile! They're always so quick and incredibly NICE/CUSTOMER oriented. First time here. Wanted a caffeine fix and stopped in to try their pistachio cream cold brew. I ordered inside. It was pretty busy and the employees seemed frazzled. I had to wait awhile but it gave me the opportunity to take pics for this review. My grande-sized beverage was $5.25 before tax. It was tasty but not worth the money. The workers have been super kind and friendly during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have gone back to this location on a regular basis because of how wonderful the staff have been treating us. The drinks are great too-what you would expect from Starbucks. They have provided us with some sense of normalcy during these odd times. Your typical Starbucks. This was my first time here this weekend, I was meeting a friend for drinks (I say "drinks" because I always get a non-coffee drink). Baristas were very friendly and both the store and the bathroom were clean. It was fairly busy so we opted to sit outside. The outside area faces the Oakland Mall side (rather than 14 Mile) which was nice, although it abuts the drive-through line. I went to this Starbucks a lot last school year before work. They were excellent, always made a good drink and had a great energy. Not sure where those people went, but the new staff is so incredibly rude and usually awful at making drinks. I hope the store unionizes soon so the workers get better treatment and can start feeling happier. I like to put the good energy out. I get it barista and service jobs can be rough. Located near Oakland Mall we will stop in here when the location is good for meeting with people for our real estate business. As I like to say, it is another one of our field offices around the metro area. As usual they serve the whole variety of Starbucks beverages and food items with the same taste you expect from any Starbucks location. And they do deliver on the taste and products. Service has also been consistently good, especially if you can avoid the busy periods like we can as we are retired and self-employed. They have a clean and reasonably quiet environment to have meetings and discussions with potential clients as well as fellow real estate investors. They also offer free WiFi so you can get even more work done. This location seems consistent for good service and cleanliness and is very dependable. read more

Located at 14 Mi Rd. and John R on the parking outskirts of Oakland Mall, there is ample free parking as well as bicycle parking. It has the typical Starbucks franchise decor. The seating area inside is on the small side (3 tables of 4, a long bar table hosting about 12, a short bar table that can host 3, and 5 cushioned armchairs), but that keeps the house packed. I don't normally write reviews of each franchise location unless there is something worth noting, either in architecture or decor. This location also has two outdoor seating areas, one in the front and one in the back. The front is much bigger with about 10 small tables accommodating 2-4 people each located outside of the main entrance and faces the parking lot. The rear patio only has 2 small tables, each accommodating parties of up to 2. Not many people are aware of this rear patio, so if you're looking for smaller crowds, here's the place to go. The rear patio actually faces 14 MI Rd, so there will be road noise from street traffic. Also notable is that there are no umbrellas at these tables to provide any shade, but again, this can easily be fixed if you talk with the Barista's. There is no worry of eavesdropping from foot traffic as the drive through as well as a small berth of grass (about ~15 feet total) separate you from the pedestrian sidewalk. Tip: The door to the back patio is one of those exit doors that unlock when you push on the handle and it isn't always set in the unlocked position. Check it first if you plan on using the back patio by gently pushing on the door glass and not the handle. If it's locked, just have one of the Barista's unlock it. Wifi signal is good even in the patios, but I've noticed that this year, Starbucks has reduced the speed at which they provide wifi (now offering only 3MB/s, down from the previous 6MB/s). This is not specific to this location, I've noticed it at every Starbucks I've been to. Still ~3MB/s is much better than their fast food competitors (~1MB/s). Notable for me is that this Starbucks actually stocks enough of the Chicken Quinoa salad I like. There are two other locations closer to my house, one doesn't stock it at all, and the other never seems to have enough. You would figure they would adjust the amount they order, but they don't. So this is the one that gets my business most Saturday's. Having said that, of course, today they actually didn't have my salad, so I ordered a breakfast sandwich instead. Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich. Pretty good considering it's pre-made and heated up. The croissant remained crispy on the outside and the sandwich was actually hot enough that the cheese melted. Two slices of bacon carries heavy smoke flavour, and the egg is somehow never overcooked and rubbery. 4 stars. Upon driving up to it, I saw that the drive thru line for this place was maybe 20 cars long, so I figured I'd be able to run inside and get a drink quicker. I'm really not a big coffee drinker. I was having one of those days where I just 'could not even', so I figured that Starbucks would do the trick. I was more annoyed that I had stopped than anything. It felt like this place was understaffed (3 people working, 2 of which were on registers) for the kind of volume they had. I don't go to Starbucks often, but I've never been to one this slow. If you have a lot of time to sit around and drink your coffee, the inside of this location was actually very nice. I appreciate that they supposedly used sustainable materials in their construction (something I read on a plaque on the counter as I waited for what felt like forever). read more

Went to this location to get some ground coffee.walked in, usually when you walk into a Starbucks, the barista acknowledge you. One person was in drove through and the manager was at the register going through what looks to be scheduling book. She never looked up nor did she say a work. Finally I asked her about a few sale items and she acted as if I was getting on her nerves and a bother. This has always been my favorite starbucks. I came in tonight at 9:50 and they told me that it's closed? They said it closed at 9:30 tonight, but it's supposed to close at 10. I don't understand why they would close 30 minutes earlier than the time advertised online. Now I know not to come here at night. I can't start my day without coffee! I visit this Starbucks often because it's around the corner from my job. Service is sometimes a hit or miss. 90% of the time, I am in and out of the line in a couple of minutes. Other times, it will take about 5 or more (like right now). The staff is very friendly and always greet me with a smile. I have never been on the inside of this Starbucks (I always go through the drive thru) but it looks pretty clean from the window. I knocked off a star because of the slow service...and they also have the drive thru line set up so you can't leave the line WHICH DRIVES ME INSANE! I was pampered by the poised and positive staff with good vibes the likes of which one only-only ever finds in the small tribal get-togethers deep in the forest of friendship. Almost gave one star but I haven't always had bad service. Today I went in and ordered a Venti caramel cappuccino. When the barista handed it to me it felt really light When I asked her about the weight of the cup she said that the foam would make a difference in weight. And, I do expect foam in my cappuccino however not 5 1/2 inches of it. There was less than four full gulps of coffee in my cup. When I asked her to please remake it with a little bit more coffee and a little bit less foam, she refused. Stating that's what cappuccinos are like read more
