Like I'm not sure how smart people are nowadays for one I order a iced catmel drink and the lady don't ask if I want any sugar or cream and then she has the nerve to hand me water and caramel in a large cup for six dollars and then hand me a couple of milk. I asked her for some cream and sugar. She hand me a couple milk like people where are your brains like do you have one like even McDonald's knows to ask do you want cream or sugar or they know what to add it like Starbucks sucks and this location sucks I go back around in line and have to order another drink and she doesn't seem to even ask me like hey is everything OK like they need to really start educating these people cause they seem to not have a brain like this lady ruined my whole day just off this incident and my six dollars for a drink. I have visited this location over the last 5 years and typically have a good experience. however, recently I have seen the quality go down. I started to order light cream in my iced coffee because with regular it was coming almost white. the cups have it listed at 1/4inch for light cream and 1/2inch for regular cream. i brought it up to barista taking order today and she stated they free pour. That is fine, but where is the boundary with that because it's up to interpretation or pour? are they not aiming for any sort of standard measurement? the one taking my order specially said to me today, "if this continues to be a problem, then maybe we are just not the right coffee house for you." this was not appropriate response when I was being calm and simply asking and providing feedback. Turns out, the girl taking the order is the one that always hands out terrible drinks that look like actual cups of milk with splash of coffee. A specific barista is the one to do this so it's a reflection of them and not the coffee house style. Lack of standards or the ability to take feedback at this location. It's crazy to consider that given the cost. read more

I visited this Starbucks on June 17 2025, I took the drive through and clearly it was a bad choice. The buresta had a horrible attitude, there was an atmosphere of a funeral. Tried to call Starbucks, to say umm... what happened here. The phone is off the hook, all I get, is a busy signal. Obviously they know today isn't their best. I'm editing this review to include a little more... After many attempts to call the Volo Starbucks. I called Starbucks 800 number. I talked with a very delightful woman, she was very helpful. Made an order for pick up and they forgot the Frappuccino and had thrown away the receipt before we even got there, thankfully I had mine. When we finally got it after 5 minutes of waiting after the manager came and asked if we were missing anything because the person in the window didn't check once we finally got it. HOWEVER it was overflowing out of the top with whipped cream and the sides were covered in caramel sauce, they didn't try to clean it or even give us napkins for us to do it. I also got a refresher drink and it wasn't even filled maybe 3/4 of the way like did you get thirsty waiting? Our food that we got was good and right, other than that no. Staff here working the drive-thru are extremely friendly and the wait is never long. Only a 3 star however because I've ordered the same drink 4 times over the last 2.5 weeks and each time my drink tastes different; during my last visit my caramel macchiato didn't even remotely resemble a macchiato. I always get quick and friendly service from this location. Never an issue with my service and my drinks are always great. It's like the first day of summer and I get everyone wants a beverage. But my god, this location prioritizes drive thru over everyone and you can clearly tell. They have 4-5 baristas making coffee non stop for purely drive thru and the lobbys full of people wanting to order or simply waiting on a mobile order like me. I ordered at 11:20 and was there til 11:45 until I eventually said something about my order. Lady was really nice, quickly found the stickers and whipped out the drinks in like 2 mins. But I wonder, if I never said anything, how much longer would I be sitting there waiting on a mobile order while easily 30 + people order and get their food/ drinks. Staff more people/ or delegate the roles when your slammed so everyone is getting taken care of. 1-2 baristas for drive thru, 1 for mobile orders, 1 for in store. If I order again I'll make sure I give at least a half an hour for my 3 drinks to be made before I show up. read more

I've come here multiple times to study and each time I've had a great experience. The manager or possibly owner, is always there helping others when it's busy. One time she asked my friend and I if the music was okay because we were studying. I also saw her take feedback from someone else because it was too cold and she happily increased the thermostat. The other staff members I've encountered were all very friendly and nice. I've even heard them praise one another which I think is a testimony to their teamwork. All of my drinks were made in a timely manner and tasted great to me. Overall, I've enjoyed studying here and haven't had any issues thus far. read more

I running every morning to the Starbucks with my dog to have a coffee. There is no sign you can't come with the dog inside. And today some staff said that you cannot come with the dog to the Starbucks because it is a RESTAURANT so if the dog can't come into your RESTAURANT you should have sign in front of your door "dog's not allowed " read more

I went there a few weeks ago and got a venti salted caramel cream cold brew. It was the best thing I've ever had in my life! Matt made it, and WOW. I've had it multiple times from other locations and it tastes nothing like salted caramel. So idk what this location did but wow. Always running out of food...go somewhere else. I go to this Starbucks every Saturday and Sunday morning because it's close to my house. I do not go during the work week because I pass another Starbucks and unlike the Volo Starbucks, they have pastries after 10 am unlike Volo who NEVER has enough food. I ordered a Venti Dragon Drink lite ice. At the window they had a Grande. The cashier realized the error and gave the drink to another person. I watched her pour the Grande into a Venti cup. She disappeared and when I got my drink it was half ice. Pretty sure that is not the way they are supposed to correct their mistakes. read more

Horrible. I showed up at 7:50 on a Monday night, since they are supposed to be open until 9pm. I sat at the ordering screen for 5 minutes with other people behind me, to pull up to the window and see that they posted a sign they are were closing at 8. Mind you, 1. I was there before 8, and 2. This is one of my least favorite in the area, but the most convenient if going before work. 1 out of every 10 lattes I get is almost half foam. I don't like to pay for a $6 Venti and get barely a Tall! I have complained in person also, but I have also had an issue with the warmed breakfast sandwiches here. Although I visit this Starbucks often due to convenience, it is very inconsistent. I order the same drink every time, an unsweetened green tea frappuccino with coconut milk and no whip cream. Sometimes I find the beverage to be made up of mostly water, other times the drink will not be filled all the way or taste like the staff used dairy instead of the coconut milk I requested. If you order mochas or anything of the sort, be aware the hot beverage may come through the window already cool. A friend of mine always orders a nonfat mocha, only here does it taste absolutely bitter and undrinkable. Most of the time, the service is slow so if you are on your way to work you might want to leave even earlier if you plan to make a pit stop at this particular Starbucks. I went through the drive thru yesterday & ordered a coffee & a food item. Both were very good, but the experience I had was horrible. As I sat in the drive thru waiting for my drink the two girls, I believe one was named Halsey(had lots of tattoos) & another dirty blonde girl, had the audacity to sit there & talk badly about me & give me dirty looks. With being a partner myself at another store these actions left my very shocked. Everyone as a right to their opinion, but atleast have the respect to either one shut the window so i cant hear what you're saying about me, or two have some good store service & wait till i pull away. Good location for those in Fox Lake (probably the main reason they are always busy) but average at best when it comes quality and service. If you are looking to customize (ie. nonfat milk, no whip, extra drizzle, etc.) I would suggest going to a different Starbucks or even Dunkin' Donuts as there have been numerous occasions they've messed up my order which gets pretty frustrating when you pay $6+ for a drink. read more
